"We're so screwed",Zane murmered once again under his breathe. He'd taken a unused back road in hopes of getting Levi to the hospital quicker. But now they were stuck and it was unlikely that anyone else would be passing through.

A scream brought Zanes attention rushing back to Levi, who had opened his door and was gripping the handle so tight that his knuckles where white.

"Zane, the contractions are getting really close, i'm gonna have to start pushing soon",Levi said then gritted his teeth. "Owwww, it hurts",he panted.

Zane had paled himself, but he took a deep breathe to calm himself, Levi needed him calm now.  "What can I do",he ask. He bent down and gently pushed Levi's sweaty blonde hair from his pale features.

Levi groaned before answering, "H, help me get my pants off please",he ask weakly. Zane felt himself go pale once again, the babies were really coming and he was going to have to deliver them. He bent forward and unlaaced the sneakers Levi was wearing before pulling them off, followed by his jeans and boxers.

Levi screamed once again and Zane jumped startled. "I gotta push, help me brace my legs",he demanded between clenched teeth. Zane quickley lifted one long leg to rest against the open door. He rested the other on the oppisite side so that Levis legs where spread apart.

Zane once again gulped and then counted to ten to calm himself as he settled on his knees in front of the blonde gently rubbing his thigh in comfort.

"Okay babe, it looks like you're ready to start pushing",he said receiving a short laugh. "Tell me something I don't already know",Levi countered then gasp and pushed against the next contraction.

Levi could feel the baby move downward as he pushed again. "You're doing great baby, I can see the head starting to crown",Zane encouraged, using his thumbs to rub small circles on Levi's thighs. "Now get ready to push again".

Levi gave a groan that turned into a pained whimper as he pushed again, his hands gripping the seat and dashboard so tight, he was sure to leave marks. He took a breath once it ended and looked down at Zane with hooded eyes.

Zane was smiling as he looked at Levi, "The heads out, take a couple breaths and then start to push out the shoulders",he said and Levi groaned.

A couple breaths later he was back to pushing and this time it seemed harder and hurt more. "Come on babe, almost there, almost there",Zane said trying to get Levi to focus his attention on him rather then the pain. A scream later and the shoulders were free.

"One more push Levi and you'll have you're first baby",Zane said and Levi gave a tired smile, those words alone were enough encouragment, and Levi bit his lip and pushed. He sighed in releif as he felt the baby slide from him.

Zane grinned wide as he held a tiny squirming infant into his large hands. "Its a boy Levi, you have a son",he said as he handed the infant to the smiling blonde. Once the baby was settled in his fathers arms, Zane took his pocket knife and cut the umbilical corrd before tying it off with once of his shoe laces.

Levi stared down at the baby while Zane worked at the cord, the baby was red and screaming at the top o his lungs and covered in goo, but to Levi he was the most beautiful thing in the world, and he couldn't wait to see his brother or sister. Which wouldn't be long, Levi thought, as he felt the pain returning.

Zane took off the flannel over shirt he wore and quickley wrapped it around the baby once he saw the pained expression on Levi's face. "I'm gonna lay him down in the back seat okay, cause we gotta deliver the next baby now",he told Levi, when the blonde whimpered at the lose of contact with his baby.

Levi groaned as another contraction yet again hit him full force, "I think this ones gonna come even quicker then the first",Zane said from his position and Levi bit his lip as he nodded in agreement. He screamed and pushed because he didn't feel as if he could wait anymore.

"Again Levi, again",Zane said and Levi groaned, "AHhhhhhh, it hurts, somethings wrong",he panted and Zane frowned. "Stop pushing Levi, the cords wrapped around the babys neck",he said and Levi froze.

"I got it, now push Levi okay, push hard as you can",Zane demanded holding onto another dark fuzzy head that matched the first. It seemed odd that neither child had their fathers fair hair they must have inheritated it from the other father, he guessed, suddenly feeling an odd sense of anger towards whoever it was. 

Levi pushed and Zane held the tiny shoulders in his hands as he demanded Levi push again, frowning at the blood that followed. "Once more Levi, okay once again and you can grett this baby",Zane encouraged. A pushed followed by a loud final scream and the baby was out and to Zanes relief screaming with a set of healthy lungs.

Levi was looking at them, obviously happy that the whole ordeal was over and that this baby to seemed healthy. "A girl this time",Zane said as he gave the baby to Levi and set to work doing as he had with the first and then removing his t-shirt took the baby and wrapped her in the soft warm fabric. 

He helped Levi get back into his jeans and then into the car before handing him the baby boy and shutting the door. He then went to the hood and opened it, hoping that whatever was wrong with the car that it was nothing major.

As it turned out, it was only a loose wire and with that fixed he sped, though as carefully as possible to the hospital.

Zane was sitting in the waiting room with a pair of barrowed scrubbs and his stringless shoes when a doctor walked in, "Are you Zane",he ask and Zane nodded quickley. "I am, how is he, are they? Hows Levi and the twins?",he ask.

The doctor smiled, "They're fine, you did very well, had you ever delivered a baby before",he ask curiously and Zane flushed. "No, I uh hadn', but i'm glad I did okay",he said.

The doctors smile widened, "You did very good. Now come with me and you can see all three of them".

Zane followed the doctor to Levi's room where he lay in bed smiling as a nurse handed him a little pink bundle. "Oh good, you can help feed them",Levi said sounding very happy if not a bit tired.

The nurse handed the little blue bundle to Zane as well as a bottle and after making sure he had the hang of feeding the infant left the room".

"They're both so beautiful",Zane said as he lay the bottle on the bedside table and switched babies with Levi. He fingered the little black curl that escaped the baby girls cap. They lloked so much like Levi except for the black hair, but there were features in them that looked so fimilar that didn't belong to Levi.

"Who's their father, the other father I mean",he ask softly as he cradeled the baby girl. Levi held the baby boy to his chest. "Can't you tell",Levi ask softer, "They look so much like him".

Zane looked back down at the infant and she cracked open her little eyes and Zane gasp, his eyes were staring back at him, and he felt tears fill his own.

"Mine, they're mine",he ask just to be sure, hoped that he was right. "Yes",Levi said biting his lip as he did when nervous or scared. "Are you angery cause I didn;t tell you before, I mean thats why I went to the bar to begin with",he rambled.

Zane laughed, "How could I be angery when I know now, I mean i'm surprised, but not mad",he kissed the top of the babys head. "I don't think i've ever been happier. Now have you thought of any names",he ask and Levi nodded. "Yes while I was holding them in the car on the way here, I thought that Brantley and Brittany suited them perfectly",he said and Zane nodded. "Brantley Ross and Brittany Rose". Levi laughed, "I like those, but what should we put down as their last names",he ask unsure. Zane smiled and kissed the top of Brittanys head brfore settling her back into her crib, and did the same with Brantley.

Zane then sat beside Levi on the bed and kissed his forehead. "This is gonna sound so corny and cheesey, and I know its defiently fast and it doesn't have to happen right away, in fact i'll be cool with whatever you decide",Zane took a breath and Levi looked at him confused.

"I guess what i'm trying to say Levi, is that I feel in love with you that night, but I didn't know and still don;t if you felt the same, but if you do, then I guess what i'm asking is, Will you marry me Levi". 

Levi laughed and leaned forward to kiss Zane on the lips, "You're right it is quick, but I'm not gonna say no to such a romantic proposal",he grinned and kissed Zane again. "But lets at least stay engaged for a while so that we can figure everthing out, you know hosueing arragments and what not". Zane nodded, "Works for me babe",he said and kissed Levi passionatly. "Thanks for the twins Levi, I guessed we aren't so screwed after all".

It had been five years since Levi had given birth to the twins and four years since their marriage. They were happy and they were expecting another baby.

It was Halloween and the twins were excitedly waiting to go trick or treating, Brittany dressed as little pink and green pixie was running about sprinkling ‘pixie dust’ or glitter or around the front yard. Brantley was a little less hyperactive then his sister and had opted to dress as his father Zane, both having dressed up like pirates.

Levi had not dressed up, not for lack of enthusiasm, but rather lack of energy to find a costume big enough to fit over his large round belly.

“You could always go as the King of Pumpkin’s”, Zane teased as he rubbed gentle soothing circles on the large round mound housing their baby. “The baby bump could be your most prized pumpkin”, he said and received a little kick under his hand and he laughed. “I think the baby likes the idea”.

Levi rolled his eyes, “the baby has been kicking like that all day”. He sounded tired and Zane frowned, as he looked his husband over. “You feeling okay Levi, if you aren’t we could let the twins go trick or treating with the Anderson’s”.

Levi shook his head, “No, I’m fine, and as much as I like the Anderson’s, I don’t want to miss any holiday fun with my children”, he said stubbornly. Zane snorted and gave him a swift kiss, “I couldn’t stop you if I tried could I?” Levi shook his head but his response cut off by a little scream as Brittany ran into the kitchen.

“Whoa kiddo, what’s up?” Zane questioned as the little girl wrapped her arms around his leg. She looked up at him with wide blue-green eyes, “A giant frog ate Katie’s daddy”, she cried. Zane gave a Levi a puzzled look when the blonde laughed. “Trace Anderson is dressed up like a frog, and his wife is a witch”, he explained while still laughing.

Zane laughed as well and bent to pick up his daughter who was frowning in confusion, “It isn’t funny”, she exclaimed, “Katie’s mommy turned her daddy into a frog and you think it’s funny”.

“Its just costumes, baby girl, like the ones we’re wearing”, Zane explained and kissed the top of her black curls. Brittany just looked at Levi who nodded in agreement. “Okay”, the little girl said, then her eyes widened once again, “Oh no, Brantley has Katie’s daddy cornered with his sword”. Zane groaned, “Uh oh, I guess I better go get our little pirate”, he sighed.

Levi watched with a fond smile as Zane follow their daughter out the door. As he filled a glass with water, a sharp pain nearly knocked the breath out him and he dropped the glass onto the floor. The pain passed as quick as it came, but Levi felt a little shaky as he rubbed a hand over his belly. “Calm down in there baby, I’m anxious to meet you as well, but today is not that day”.

 “What happened? Are you alright?” Zane demanded nervously as he walked back into the house, the twins trailing after him. Levi dropped his hand to his side and smiled, “I’m fine, I just dropped a glass, slippery fingers and all that”, he assured.

“I’ll clean it up”, Zane said after a second, and Levi nodded gratefully, then turned and smiled at the twins who looked a little shaken by Zane’s earlier out burst. “Are you okay daddy”, Brantley ask concern on his little face. “Is the baby okay?”, Brittany said a little louder and Levi smiled as he ruffled their black curls. “You’re dad is just a worry wart”.

Zane gave a Levi a frown, but the blonde just shrugged. “Okay kiddy’s, go get your treat bags, we leave for trick or treating in ten minutes”, he said and the twins gave a cheer and ran into the family room to grab their bags.

“I really am fine Zane, I’d tell you other wise okay”, Levi assured and Zane sighed but nodded and pulled the smaller man close to his side, smiling when the twins returned holding their treat bags and practically bouncing. “I guess that means you’re both ready. Aright then, lets go”

When they had returned from their treating and had sorted threw the candy, the twins were yawning and Levi had lain down on the couch, an expression on his face that stirred up worry in Zane.

Having put the twins to bed in record time, Zane found that Levi had moved to their room and he was sitting on their bed, a pained look crossing his handsome features.

“Levi? Baby, you’re in labor aren’t you”, he stated and the other nodded slowly, and bit his lips to keep from groaning aloud. “For how long?” Zane questioned. Levi took a breath and sighed, “I think, maybe since before we left, but it didn’t hurt but once then, I didn’t know at the time”,he promised.

Zane picked up the phone and dialed, “Trace, could either you or Sandra watch the twins? Yeah…Levi’s in labor and I need to get him to the hospital. Thanks a heap”, he hung up and turned to Levi who was panting and moving his hands up and down his belly.

“You ready babe, Trace is going to watch the twins for us”, Zane said as he lifted the younger man into his arms. Levi gave a soft laugh, “Sure, but hopefully this time we actually make it to the hospital and you don’t end up delivering this baby on the side of the road like last time”, he smiled, but his face was pale and his eyes tired.

Zane gave a little laugh as he carried the other down the stairs, “Don’t worry about that, sweetheart, I took the car to the shop just last week”. Trace Anderson had met them at the door, and he gave them both a encouraging smile, “Let me know when the baby is born, okay”. Zane nodded and slid Levi into the passenger side of their car.

Zane was driving as quickly as possible with out putting their lives in danger and he’d glance over at Levi from time to time. His latest glance showed him that blonde had his head against the window, his arms wrapped around his middle. “Baby, what’s wrong”, Zane ask worriedly and Levi turned a pale waxy face towards him. “It hurts worse then with the twins, but I feel so tired”, he said his eyes dropping.

Zane sped up, his heart was pounding and his hands gripped the steering wheel nervously. He glanced back over at his husband and found the blonde slumped sideways, head resting against the window.

“Levi? Levi, sweetheart you awake over there?” he got no answer and it felt as if his heart plummeted, it gunned it the rest of the way to the hospital, the sight had never been more dreaded or welcomed in his life.

Screeching to a stop, he jumped out and ran to the passenger side door jerking it open. He lifted Levi’s limp form and hurried inside the entrance. “Doctor!” Zane shouted, “He needs a doctor now”. Orderlys rushed forward with a gurney and a doctor pushed Zane out of the way after he lay Levi on the cold white table.

“Get OR room five ready. Stat!”, the doctor shouted as they wheeled the gurney down the hall. “He’s not breathing! We’re going to loose him if we don’t get a move on people”, the doctor shouted and Zane stopped, his world tilting and spinning and he sank to his knees, eyes burning with tears.

“Sir”, a male nurse said as he helped Zane to his feet and helped him to a chair. “Sir, is there anyone you want us to call?” Zane squeezed his eyes tightly and shook his head; he opened them and looked at the nurse. “I want to be with him. Can I be with him, with them?’ “I’m sorry sir, but the doctors need the room to work and I’m sorry but I don’t believe that’ll be possible”, the nurse said sadly.

Zane broke down, “What if he is dying, I can’t loose him, either of them”, he dropped his head and sucked in a breath. “I’ll die if anything happens to him”.

The nurse rubbed soothing circles on his back and Zane lifted his head, wiping at his eyes, “No I have to be strong for him, for the baby, and our twins at home, if something happens to Levi, I’ll be all they have left”, he swallowed, his heart clenching at his own words.

“No. No, nothing is going to happen to him, Levi is strong and he’d never leave our kids, he is so stubborn when it comes to them, he won’t leave me and he definitely won’t leave them”. He took a deep breath and released it, before looking at the nurse. “Do me a favor, please, let me know as soon as I can see him”. The nurse nodded and stood, he placed a hand on Zane’s shoulder. “I’ll do just that”, he promised before leaving.

Zane stood and began to pace, it was cliché but it gave him something to do as he waited.

The wait seemed to take hours, but the male nurse from before came walking down the hall, a wide smile on his face that made Zane’s knees weak with relief. “Your husband is just fine, and you have a very healthy son and daughter”. Zane blinked, “Twins, we have twins, again, a girl and a boy?” He laughed, “Twins and they’re fine, just fine”, he whooped and pumped his fist in the air, making everyone around his look on in confusion or laugh with his excitement.

“Lead the way man, I want to see my family”, he told the nurse who nodded and leat the way down the hall. “Now Levi had to have a c-section, and he’s not awake just yet, but soon and the doctor wants to talk to you before you see him, but you can see the twins first if you’d like”.

Zane nodded and was taken to the nursery room, where he looked through the glass at the two infants in front with their family name on front. One blue and one pink, his new son and daughter. They were beautiful and he could not wait to hold them, but he wanted to see Levi first.

The doctor explained that one twin had been hidden behind one of Levi’s major organ and that she had pressed upon it so hard that it had cause internal bleeding and labor. He advised against Levi carrying another child, but insisted that should they decide upon another, Levi wait a few years. Zane had laughed and told him four was enough and he had walked into Levi’s room, smiling widen when sleepy blue eyes looked back at him.

“Hey there sleepy head, how you feeling”, Zane ask as he bent and kissed Levi’s forward then lips before sitting in the chair beside his bed. “Sore”, Levi admitted, “I hear that we got a surprise”.

Zane nodded and laughed, “More like a trick and treat, its still Halloween, at least it will be for at least ten more minutes, but what a day, huh”. Levi nodded tiredly, “It’s a interesting day for a birthday at least”.

Zane grabbed his hand and kissed the palm, “You scared the crap out of me Levi, I thought I was going to loose you and the baby, babies”, he said tears once again stinging his eyes. Levi wiped a thumb under each eye and smiled, “I was never going to leave you and our kids, and I just had a little trouble is all, nothing to worry about now…I’m perfectly fine”.

Zane sighed, “I know, I just love you so much. What would our kids have done with out you? What would I have done without you?”

Two nurses wheeling in their twins, “Do you think you’re up for holding your babies”, interrupted their conversation, ask a nurse with rosy cheeks and white hair. “Are you kidding, give me”, Levi said or rather demanded, sounding more awake and sitting up with a wince. Zane helped him and placed a pillow behind his back.

The nurse handed the girl to Levi and the other nurse handed their son to Zane. Levi smiled down at the infant then back to Zane, “I promise I have no intentions of ever leaving anyone behind. Now let’s try to think of what we’re going to name our new twins”.

Zane smirked, “How about Drusilla and Malachi”, he suggested and Levi snorted. “No way, I don’t think so”, he protested.

“I was just kidding. I was actually thinking Joshua and Jocelyn”, he offered and Levi nodded thoughtfully, “I like Josh, but I think we should call her Jacinda”.

They took Josh and Jacinda home a few days later, Zane had set up another crib in the nursery. Brittany and Brantley were devoted to helping taking care of their new brother and sister, so that Levi could rest and heal.

The twins were quiet unless they were hungry or needed something and were both joyously happy when awake.

Both Levi and Zane had decided that they needed a bigger home and had moved into a new four-bed room house by the first week of December.

“Its perfect”, Zane said as they stood outside on the wrap around porch watching as Brittany and Brantley chased each other around the snow-covered back yard, stopping only to yell that they wanted to make a snowman. “Its home”, Levi added. “Now go help our kids build a snowman, I’m going to check on the babies”, he said. He laughed when Zane got pelted with little snow balls as he stepped into the yard, only to slip and squish the small snowman the twins had started. It really was picture perfect’, Levi thought and there was no way he would have ever missed any of it.
