My life was perfect for a while, but then 2 weeks ago my troubles started. I was walking home from the library; I heard footsteps behind me. I quickened my pace, and so did the person following me. No matter what I did the person did the same, I was really getting scared. I started to run; the person ran and jumped onto my back knocking me to the ground. He put his hand over my mouth and pulled me up by my hair. He pulled me into a dark alley, he pushed me face first against the wall and pulled down my pants and boxer shorts.
He made me get on all fours on the ground. He started to thrust himself into my anus, the pain was excruciating, I wanted to scream but I was too scared. He thrust into me repeatedly until he came inside me. He pulled out and left me on the ground crying and shaking in pain. The last thing I saw was him walking away, and then the world went black.
~*~*
I awoke to a man standing over me; I tried to get away but was in too much pain. "Relax, I want to help you, my name is Jason. He helped me stand and put my pants and boxers back on. He saw I was very scared and in a lot of pain. "Let me make sure you get home safe. You were through a lot." I nodded needing to feel safe. "Where do you live?"

Jason POV
The kid passed out again before I could find out where he lived. The only thing I can do is take him back to my house. I picked him up and carried him to my house, which luckily was around the corner. I laid him on my bed and slept in the chair in the corner guarding him. I kept falling asleep and waking because he was moaning in his sleep. I got up and sat with him and he calmed down. The sad thing is I am helping this kid and I don't even know his name.

Damien POV
I awoke again in a strange place. I have no idea how I got to this house. I looked around the room; my savior was sleeping in a chair in the corner. If I remember right, he said his name was Jason; I went to sit up and groaned from the pain. Jason opened his eyes and looked at me. "Hey, your awake, are u feeling ok?" He asked me. He stretched, stood, and walked to the side of the bed.
"A little better, how did I get here? The last thing I remember was you." Jason helped me sit up against the headboard of the bed.
"Well, u couldn't tell me where you live because you fainted again, so I brought u to my house." Jason smiled. "What is your name?"
"Damien. My name is Damien." I tried to get off the bed but Jason stopped me.
"Hey slow down Damien." Jason put his hand on my shoulder. "You went through a lot, you need to rest. And I am not letting you leave until I am sure you are ok."
"No offense Jason, but I don't know anything about you except the fact that you helped me in the alley. And I thank you for saving me, but my parents might be worried that I didn't come home last night." I went to stand and winced from the pain.
Jason pulled a cell phone out of his pocket and handed it to me, "Here, call your parents and let them know you are ok." I called my parents and 30 minutes later handed the phone back to him. "Are your parents ok with you being here?"
"They are just glad that I am ok, they want me to come home when I can. They think I was spending the night at a friend's house. I don't want them to know what happened to me. I don't even want to know about it." I sighed as I looked at my hands. "Why did it have to happen to me?"
Jason sat next to me on the edge of the bed and put his arm around my shoulders. "Damien, things happen to everyone, there is nothing you can do about it. Well I am going to take you home now, I have to do a few things after, but if you need to talk, call me ok?" he handed me a piece of paper with his cell number on it.
"Thanks Jason." I hugged him in appreciation. "You are a really kind guy." Jason took me home and made sure I was ok before leaving.

2 Days Later
I walked into High school and got a real surprise, there was Jason leaning against the wall. I walked over to him. "Jason? I didn't know you went to this school."
"Yeah, I am a senior. I thought you looked familiar when I saw you I just never knew from where, now I know. I guess this is a small world." Jason smiled at me.
"Yeah very small, who would have guessed we went to the same school huh?" I looked down the hall as the bell rang. "Well I better get to class; maybe we can talk more later?" Jason nodded and we went our separate ways. I met Jason in the parking lot later that day; I recognized his car easily.
I leaned against Jason's car until I saw him coming. He saw me and smiled. I waved as he walked over. "Hi Jason. I hope you don't mind that I waited for you."
"No, I don't mind at all. I was kind of hoping you would actually. I haven't heard from you since I took you home 3 days ago, well except this morning. I wanted to make sure you were ok. So do your parents still think you stayed at a friends' house or do they know what happened?" He asked me as he stood next to me.
"No, I never told them and I don't plan on telling them. That is one part of my life I want to forget completely. You are the only good thing to come out of it. Everything else about that night is just horrible and I wish I could just forget about it." I said as I looked down at my feet.
I was really surprised when Jason hugged me. "Hey, relax. Everything will be ok, and like I said I am here for you." I looked up at him and he smiled at me. "You should try smiling more often; it makes you look handsome when you smile." He blushed immediately.
"What are you blushing for?" I giggled as he tried to look serious and hide his blush. "Oh relax, I am kidding. I thank you for the compliment." I hugged him back to show I was serious.
"Well since you are here do you want a ride home, I remember where it is." I nodded and got into the car. We drove to my house with Jason occasionally giving me weird looks. It was like he was checking me out or something. I didn't know what to do so I ignored it. Once we got to my house, I thanked him and got out the car. He turned off the engine and got out as well. I got half way to my door when he grabbed my arm, turned me around, and kissed me.
He kissed me for what seemed like hours. He released me and looked embarrassed. I could not think of anything to say, I just sat there stammering like an idiot. I quickly turned and ran into my house. I closed the door behind me and leaned my back against it as I tried to regain my breath. I looked out the small window in the door to see Jason turn and walk back to the car with his head down. I felt as if I had harmed him in some way. I turned around to see my little sister Jennifer standing in front of me looking at me like I broke something. "What do you want Jen?"
"Why did that boy kiss you?" Damn, Jen saw what had just happened and knowing my luck she was going to tell mom and dad all about it. She looked at me with the curiosity of a 7 year old. She is 10 years younger than me and a real pain in the butt on occasion.
I put my book bag on the floor and picked her up setting her on my hip. "It is just his way of saying goodbye Jen." That was all I could think of telling her. "He is from a different country Jen that is how they say goodbye where he comes from." She just nodded and placed her head on my shoulder. "Where are mom and dad?" She pointed to the living room and the kitchen that usually meant mom was cooking something and dad was watching something on TV. I walked into the kitchen first with Jen still on my hip.
Mom turned around as she heard me enter the room. "Hey honey, how was school?"
"The same as always mom; boring. It is just normal classes." I walked over and hugged her with the arm not holding Jen. Jen always clung to me for some reason, it was as if she thought I was our father, but I just let her. I didn't really mind as long as she didn't do it when my friends were over.
"Well your father is in the living room if you are looking for him." I grunted and walked away,
As mom and Jen both implied I found my father sitting on the couch still in his work uniform. Dad is a cashier at the local supermarket, everyone in town knows him. "Hey dad, bad day?"
"Not really, just a really tiresome one, this lady bought a ton of food and needed help putting it in her car and of course they gave the job to me." He rubbed his face after pinching the bridge of his nose. I sat next to him and Jen repositioned herself to my lap. "I really wish there was another job I could do, this is getting really tiring everyday."
"If it is that bad then why don't you take a nap when you get home? You just need more sleep dad." He nodded in agreement. "Dad go take a nap, I will wake you when it's time for dinner." He nodded again and hugged me and Jen before getting up and heading toward the room, he shared with my mother. I looked down at Jen, "So Jen how was school today and why are you home early?" I awaited an answer and my answer was the sound of Jen snoring in my grasp. I stood while cradling her to my chest and walked back to the kitchen. "Mom why is Jen home early today?"
"She got sick and puked in class; she has been home ever since. She's supposed to be in bed." Mom got a look of compassion on her face as she saw Jen asleep in my arms. "Why don't you take her back up to her room honey?" I nodded and turned to go. "And right after that I want you to get to work on your homework. I got a call from your teacher today complaining that you have not been turning in your work. I want it done before you even think about doing anything else." I just moaned and walked with Jen towards her room. I set her on her bed and walked back downstairs for my book bag.
After what seemed like 5 hours of homework I pulled my phone out of my pocket and retrieved the number Jason gave me from the drawer in my bedside table. I wanted to call him to ask about the kiss earlier but I was too nervous. I saved the number on my phone, set the phone on the table, and lay on my bed looking at the ceiling. The kiss kept running through my head.

The next morning at school, I saw Jason leaning against the wall and didn't even bother to stop and talk to him for fear of embarrassment. The whole day I avoided him, I didn't even go out to his car after school, and I walked home. I followed that routine for about two weeks until one day I didn't go to school at all cause I was sick. I had woke that morning feeling like I was going to puke and in fact I did right after I got out of bed. Mom walked into my bathroom to find me with me head in the toilet. I felt as if I was going to puke up my stomach, but that didn't happen. Mom helped me back to bed and told me I was staying home from school.
I went back to sleep as she went downstairs to call the school to say I would not be in that day. I woke later that day to my phone ringing on my bedside table. I reached for it with my eyes still closed and put it to my ear. "Hello?" I said groggily.
"Damien?" I sat up in bed as I recognized the voice. It was Jason. "Damien are you there?"
"Yeah, I'm here." I rubbed my face trying to remember if I ever gave him my phone number. I could not remember. "What's up Jason?"
"Well, I wanted to make sure you were ok, I noticed you were avoiding me lately and I figured it was cause of the kiss, but you're not in school today and I got worried about you, are you alright?" He sounded really concerned about me.
"Yeah, I'm fine. I just felt a little sick this morning so I stayed home." I looked at my clock; it was 12:00. "Wait, are you in school now?" He grunted. "But it is against the rules to use phones in school, what if you get caught?"
"I don't really mind, I wanted to make sure you were ok. Hey can I come over after school so we can talk?" Jason said the last sentence as quickly as possible.
"Yeah, sure. I better let you go before you get caught using your phone."
"Ok, I will be over around 2:45." Jason sounded nervous.
"Sure, see you later." I hung up the phone and set it back on my table. I decided to get up and get dressed. I took a pair of denim jeans and black shirt out of my closet. I took a shower and put them on. I walked downstairs to find mom cleaning the living room before dad got home. He was expected in about an hour.
She looked at him and smiled. "You're up, how are you feeling?"
"Better mom, thanks. Is there anything to eat, I am starving." I walked into the kitchen thinking of raiding the fridge. Before I even got to it, she put a plate with a sandwich on it in front of my face. "Thanks mom." I smiled at her and took the plate to the table; I set it down and went to the fridge to get some ice tea. I sat down and ate my food while mom continued to clean up. Once I was done, I put my plate in the sink and walked back to the living room. "I am going back to my room to work on a few things." I started to walk away and stop when I remembered my conversation with Jason. "Oh, and a friend is coming over later today, his name is Jason. We are working on a project together." Mom just nodded and sent me on my way.
The time seemed to fly by as I waited for Jason to show up. He got here at 2:45 just like he said, this guy was really punctual. He knocked on the door and I ran downstairs to answer it. "I got it." I yelled to my parents, I pulled open the door to find Jason standing there. I ushered him in and took him up to my room. He sat in the chair by my desk that held my computer. "So what did you want to talk about Jason?" I looked at him as he began to wring his hands.
"Well, I wanted to talk about that kiss." I nodded encouraging him to continue. "Well, I did that for a reason, I know at the time it may have been a little premature, but I felt the need to do it. You see ever since I found you I have found you good looking, which is why I said you look better when you smile and why I kissed you." Jason began to pace across my room. "I thought I scared you away."
"Jason, calm down. I wasn't hiding from you exactly. I thought that when I ran away I had hurt you. So I figured you didn't want to see me." I said as I looked down at my hands.
"Why would I not want to see you Damien? I don't kiss people then not want to see them again. I kiss people that mean a lot to me. And when I kissed you, you already meant a lot to me. Ever since the night, I found you. What I am trying to say is that I love you Damien." He looked at me with tears in his eyes.
~~~
Jason POV
I watched Damien as he got off his bed and walked to me. I as surprised when he put his arms around my neck and kissed me. I happily kissed him back. We separated as his bedroom door opened and we heard a gasp. Damien turned and looked at the intruder.
~~~
Damien POV
"Damn it Jen, don't you ever knock." I stared at her with anger. My anger faded as quickly as it came when I saw tears forming in her eyes. I sighed as she ran out of my room crying. "Shit. I will be right back." I told Jason as I ran after my little sister. I found her in her room crying into her pillow. "Jen?" She threw a pillow at me and I caught it before it hit my head. "Jen, please talk to me." I sat next to her and rubbed her back.
She looked up at me and said the three words that made me feel like an asshole. "You hate me!" My heart instantly sank in my chest and I couldn't breathe as I tried to process what she said.
"Jen, I don't hate you. I love you. I didn't mean to yell at you Jen. I am sorry." She sat up and looked at me with a streak down her cheeks from her tears; her eyes were swollen from crying. She hugged me and I knew then that she forgave me before she even said it. "Jen, what you saw. It was just a…" How do you describe love to a ten year old?
"He was kissing you goodbye again right?" For a minute, I had no idea what she was talking about until I remembered my first kiss with Jason. I just nodded and left it at that for the time being. First, I needed to talk to mom and dad, but that would be later. I had left Jason alone in my room.
"Why did you come to see me Jen?" I played with her hair like I used to when she was younger.
"I wanted to see if you would play ball with me in the backyard." I smiled as she literally made my heart melt.
"Ok, I will play with you, but first I need to go say goodbye to my friend ok."
"Can he play with us?" I was surprised how easily she was trying to befriend Jason.
"We need to ask him first Jen. He may have something to do." She frowned; I stood picking her up with me. "We can go ask him ok?" Jen smiled at me and I walked back to my room carrying my little sister on my hip. I found Jason sitting right where he was when I left. He looked up as I entered the room. "Jason, this is my little sister Jennifer. She was wondering if you could play ball with us in the backyard if you were not too busy."
"Sure, I have nothing else to do today." He stood and looked at me.
"See Jen, go get a ball and we will meet you outside in a minute." I waited until Jen was gone before looking back at Jason. "I am so sorry about that. She never knocks, I should have known better than to expect her to."
"Hey, it's ok. I wish I had a little brother or sister; I am an only child. You should cherish your time with her Damien. And what did she say about what she saw?" Jason advanced toward me.
"She thinks it was a kiss goodbye." He looked confused. "She saw you kiss me last time and I told her you were kissing me goodbye." He smiled as he understood. "We better get out there before she runs back in here." Jason nodded and we walked out of my room together. We played with Jen until it got dark and Jason had to go home. Later that night I was getting ready for bed when I felt the urge to barf again. I ran into my bathroom and barfed up my dinner.
I awoke later that night to someone shaking me. I opened my eyes and found my little sister Jen standing on the side of my bed with her favorite stuffed animal in her arms. "What is wrong Jen?"
"I had a bad dream, can I stay with you tonight Damien?" She wiped a stray tear from her eyes. I moved over the blanket and patted the bed.
"Hop in Jen." She climbed into my bed and lay next to me and cuddled against me as she wrapped my arm around her little waist. "What was your dream about Jen?"
"You, a guy beat you up." I felt happy that she was so worried about me.
"I am fine Jen, now go to sleep, we both have school in a few hours." I looked down at her and saw that she was already asleep.
~~
My day went pretty well, and actually, I dreaded going home. Today was the day I told mom and dad about Jason. I walked into the house and found both my parents sitting on the couch, good they were already in one place. I set my book bag in a chair, "Mom, dad? We need to talk." They looked at each other then at me. "There is something I need to tell you. It's about me and Jason." They looked concerned. "Mom, dad, I love him. I know this is hard to hear, but I…I am trying to say that I'm gay. I really love him, and I don't care what you think, but I hope to one day move in with him."
They both looked at each other again and I got really nervous as the dreaded silence went on forever. Dad was the first to speak. "Damien, we are not upset that you are gay, actually we are happy that you found someone you truly love. This is just hard for us to take. We always imagined you with a girl. But if you are happy so are we." He stood and shook my hand. Mom hugged me as she cried.

The school day seemed to last forever as I waited for it to end so I could get to my doctor's appointment. Jason was taking me to my appointment to see why I could not stop puking. The school day finally ended and we headed to see the doctor. We waited for 45 minutes before we were called back to the examining room. The doctor took my blood and went to have it tested. Jason sat by my side as we waited for the doctor to come back. "What do you think could be wrong with me Jason? Why am I puking so much?"
"I don't know, maybe you got the flu or something." I sat up and he began to rub my back.
"I don't know, don't people get a fever when they have the flu? All I have is the puking. Nothing else matches up." I ran a hand through my hair. The doctor returned a few minutes later with a file in his hands. "Well, what is wrong with me?"
"Well, Damien. It seems you are pregnant. If we are right you are about 2 ½ months along." I was shocked. "How can I be pregnant? I am a boy, boys don't get pregnant." Jason was rubbing my back.
"We have no idea how it happened, but you are two months pregnant. I can suggest a doctor for you to go to. They specialize in weird pregnancies." He wrote down a phone number and handed it to me. "Call that number when you get the chance and make and appointment right away. For now I am going to give you some vitamins you need to take that will help your baby." He left and returned a few minutes later with the vitamins. "Take these once a day."
I just nodded and watched him leave. After he closed the door, I looked at Jason. "How can I be preg…?" That was when it hit me, two and a half months ago that man raped me in the alley. "No. no it can't be."
"What can't be, Damien look at me. What is it?" Jason shook me gently to get my attention.
"Jason, we met 2 ½ months ago in the alley by your house." I watched his face contort as he tried to figure out what I meant, his face turned blank. "That night is when I got pregnant. My baby is created because I was raped. How am I going to tell my parents?" I felt like I was going to puke again, Jason understood immediately and led me to the bathroom. I puked up my lunch and washed my mouth out with water. Jason led me to his car and we drove away in utter silence.
We got half way to my house when Jason spoke. "Damien? Are you ok? I may not know what you are going through, but I do know that it can't be easy. If I was in your position I don't know what I would do, but since I'm not I can say that I am here for you should you ever need me. I don't want you to go through this alone. I am going to give you time before you have to answer my question, but I was wondering if you would move in with me." I looked at Jason with remorse; he really cared for me.
"Jason, I would love to, but what about my family? I can't just leave my little sister; she means everything to me. I know that she would be very upset if I left. I want to live with them for a little longer first, if that is ok." I looked over at him again and placed my hand on his leg.
I smiled as he placed his hand over mine; he looked at me with a tear in his eye. "That is perfectly fine. I don't have a little brother or sister that relies on me like Jennifer does with you. I am an only child. I wish I had what you have." He pulled the car into my driveway. "You are very lucky Damien." He looked at me and smiled. He leaned across the seats and kissed me again and I kissed him back.
"Jason, you will have what I have, if you love me then you're a part of my family. You do have a little sister. And she is watching us from her bedroom window." I smiled and looked at her. "Do you want to come in; mom should have dinner ready soon."
He just shook his head and smiled at me. "No, you need this time with your family. And your parents are still adjusting to the fact that we are together. Maybe next time ok?" I nodded and kissed him again before getting out of the car. I walked to the door and watched him leave.
I had just opened the door when Jen ran into my arms. She hugged me and kissed my cheek. "Where have you been all day? I was worried."
"Sorry Jen, Jason and I had to do something at the library. We have a project due in a few days." Luckily, for me that was somewhat true, we do have a project due, but we had finished it a week ago. There was no way I could tell me little sister that I had a doctors appointment and that I was pregnant. Luckily, I had Jason to help me. The hard thing was going to be a pregnant male in my school. It was April. When the school year ended, I was going to be four months pregnant. Jason would be graduating this year, I would go back to my last year at high school as a seven-month pregnant man, and I had no idea how I was going to juggle a baby and school.
Jen looked up at me like I was nuts. "Are you ok Damien? You spaced out."
"I am fine Jen. Go play a video game or something ok?" She ran away smiling. The night progressed faster than I thought. When I looked at my clock, I was surprised to notice it was already 9:00. I got changed for bed and lay on the bed with my hand over my flat stomach. I fell asleep thinking about my baby.

I woke up at 12:00. Thank god, it was Saturday or I would have been in real trouble. I woke to my phone ringing. I knew who it was just by the ringtone, it was Jason. I grabbed the phone and put it to my ear. "Hello?" my eyes were still closed.
"Damien, is that you? You sound different." Jason sounded concerned.
"I am fine, I was asleep." I sat up in my bed and rubbed my eyes.
"I didn't mean to wake you, I am sorry." I just grunted. "Well, I was calling to see if you wanted to go out today. I know this lovely park we can have a picnic at. You would love it."
"That sounds great." I put my hand over my stomach without even thinking about it.
"Great. I will pick you up in half an hour." He sounded happy. He hung up the phone. I just set mine on the table beside my bed. I fell back onto my bed and sighed.
~~~
Jason POV
I parked my car in the driveway and walked up to the house. I knocked and Jennifer opened the door. I was surprised when she jumped into my arms. "Hey Jen. How are you feeling?" I was even more surprised when she hugged me and kissed my cheek. I had the feeling that Damien told his family about us. But just to be sure, "Jen, what was that for?"
"You are part of the family. I have a brother." She smiled at me and put her arms around my neck. Yup, Damien told them. "Yeah." I hugged her back. "Where is your brother hiding Jen?" She pointed upstairs and I knew right away that she meant his room. Before I was going to see him, I thought it best to go talk to his parents. I walked into the living room to find his parents sitting on the couch watching something on TV. I didn't even pay attention to it. Damien's dad saw me and stood up. He walked over to me and shook my hand. "Hello sir." I said dumbly as I returned the gesture, Jen jumped out of my arms and sat by her mother.
"You don't need to call me sir anymore Jason. You can call me Henry. I think we are well past calling me sir." He patted my back.
Next Damien's mom walked over. She hugged me and sounded like she was going to cry. "You can call me Anna. And welcome to the family Jason."
"Thank you, Mrs.…I mean Anna." She smiled at me. "I came to see Damien. We are supposed to go out for a picnic soon."
"He is upstairs, you can go see him." I nodded and walked up to his room. I laughed as I heard Henry tell Jen to stay with them.
I knocked on Damien's bedroom door, but there was no answer. I opened the door and looked in. I saw Damien lying in his bed and I could hear snoring. A smile spread across my face. I walked into the room and closed the door behind me. I walked over to the bed and shook Damien gently. He just moaned and rolled onto his side. There was only one other way I could think of to wake him.
~~~
Damien POV
I woke to a feeling I was not used to. I felt someone kissing my lips. I rolled onto my back and opened my eyes. I smiled when I saw Jason, he noticed I was awake and stopped kissing me. "Good, you are finally awake. I have been trying for the past five minutes." I just sat up and hugged him. "You know you could have told me that you told your family about us." I looked confused. "Jen opened the door and jumped into my arms. She then hugged and kissed me. She was excited that she had a brother."
"Oh yeah, sorry about that. When you called earlier you woke me up, I wasn't thinking clearly." I smiled as he sat next to me on my bed.
"Well get up and get dressed, we still have that picnic remember. The food is in the car." He walked to my closet and picked out a pair of blue denim jeans and red t-shirt. I walked into my bathroom and took a quick shower and put on the clothes he picked out. He was waiting for me on my bed. He was reading a book off the shelf above my bed. He looked up as I entered the room. "You look great, now let's get going."
~~
We arrived at the park 20 minutes later. Jason would not let me carry anything. He walked over to a spot I could literally call perfect. It was right under a tree. The view was perfect and it was isolated from the rest of the picnic area in the park I smiled as he set the blanket on the ground. I sat down and he sat next to me. I smiled when he put his hand over my stomach.
"Did you tell anyone about the baby yet?" I shook my head no. "Well you are going to have to soon. You are supposed to start to show in about 2 months. It is not a secret you can hide forever. I know that you wanted to forget about that night, but it seems that is impossible now. But hey, there is one thing I am sure of, no matter what this baby is going to be ours. I may not be it's father, but I am going to act like I am. I will always be there for both of you." I just hugged him and began to cry.
The rest of the picnic was great if you ignore the moment when I puked in the garbage can. This morning sickness was really starting to piss me off. It was not even morning and I was puking my guts out. I could not wait for the next two months to come and go. I wanted to be happy I was pregnant, not puking every chance I got. When I got home it was 5:00. Jen jumped into my arms once I walked through the door. I was going to have to talk to her about that really soon. I had no idea if that could hurt my baby. But at the moment I was more worried about tomorrow.

Yesterday Jason and I made a plan on how I was going to tell my parents about the baby. We already initiated it, Jason took Jen out to watch a movie and I was left home with mom and dad. Now I was to tell them about the baby. I watched Jason's car drive away in vain. I felt the need for him to help me tell my parents, but I had to do this alone. I walked back to the living room and sat down. I called mom and dad into the room and pointed to the couch. The understood immediately and sat down.
Mom was the first to speak. "What is wrong Damien, you look tense baby." I reached into my pocket and pulled out the picture from my ultrasound the week before that showed my two month old baby. Mom looked at it and noticed what it was right away. She looked shocked. She looked up at me. "Damien, what did you do? Who did you get pregnant?" Why would she think I got a girl pregnant? I was the one pregnant.
"Mom I didn't get anyone pregnant." I was shocked she even thought that. She looked confused. "I am the one who is pregnant. You're holding the first picture of my baby." I began to wring my hands because I was nervous.
"What are you talking about son?" My father didn't seem to understand. He looked at the ultrasound then at me.
"Dad, that baby is inside me. That ultrasound was done last week. I heard my baby's heart beating. It was the greatest thing I ever heard in my life."
"Damien how did you get pregnant? Is Jason the father?" Mom began to sound worried.
"No mom Jason isn't the father." I sighed. "I have no idea who the father is." Now it was dad's turn to be confused. "It started 2 months ago. Remember the night I didn't come home? That was when it happened. I was walking home from the library and I heard someone behind me. They seemed to be mocking my every move. I started to run and they caught up to me. He grabbed me by my hair and pulled me into an alley. He put his hand over my mouth and said if I screamed he would kill me.
He made me promise not to make a sound. Once I did he removed his hand and began to unbutton my pants. He made me kneel on the ground on my hands and knees." My voice started to waver as I got close to crying. "He raped me, and because of that I am pregnant with my baby." I put my head in my hands and began to cry.
Mom walked over and put her arm over my shoulders. She pulled me close and rested my head on her chest. I was literally hysterical. Dad sat on my other side and began to rub my back. "Everything will be ok Damien." He said as he and my mother tried to soothe me. It was the first time that I felt like a little child. The last time I was like this was when dad could not be home for Christmas when I was ten. I was so depressed; I thought that my life would never get better. I learned I was wrong, my life went from great to horrific in the matter of two months. The only thing making it worthwhile was the baby nestled in my body.
I must have fallen asleep in their embrace; I woke to find myself in bed with Jason lying behind me with his arm around my waist. Jen was lying in front of me cuddled against my chest. I attempted to move and Jason just tightened his grip around my waist. He groaned, sat up, looked into my eyes, and smiled at me. "Hey, how are you feeling?"
"How did I get in bed? And why are you and Jen sleeping with me?" I sat up and Jen just put her head on my chest and sighed.
"When we got back you were asleep on the couch with your parents hovering over you. They told me to bring you up here as they talked to Jen, they must have told her about the baby cause she come up here and cried. I am surprised I could even calm her. She was really worried about you Damien; she only calmed down when I let her lay next to you. Then I saw how beautiful you looked and decided to join both of you. Your dad walked in earlier and just smiled." He put his hand over my stomach.
I began to play with Jen's hair; she smiled in her sleep and cuddled closer to me. "Jen was always worried about me; I should be the one worried about her. I am glad you are both here with me. To tell you the truth I needed people around me right now." I smiled as he began to rub my stomach so delicately. I fell asleep again in the arms of the man I loved and with my little sister next to me.

Jason POV
I woke as the sun began to shine through the window. Damien moved against me and sighed. Jen was still lying with us, she had Damien's free hand in her grasp and I doubted she was letting go anytime soon. I got off the bed without waking either of them. I needed to talk to his parents; I walked to the door, looked back at him and smiled before silently walking out of his room with my boots in my hands. I closed the door behind me and walked downstairs. I found Henry and Anna sitting around the kitchen table having coffee. I smiled as Henry gestured for me to sit down. I sat across from them and put my hands in my lap.
"Hello Henry, Anna. I wanted to talk to you about how I feel about your son. Damien means a lot to me. The night that he was raped I found him in the alley by my house. That night I was going to bring him home, but he passed out before he could say where he lived. I carried him back to my house and let him sleep on my bed. I stood guard over him all night, I never left his side. The next morning when he woke I let him use my phone to call you.
Ever since that night your son has had a tight grip on my heart. What I am trying to say is I am always going to protect him and that baby as if it were my own. Maybe one day I will have a child, but I am perfectly happy just to have him, Jen, and the baby. But I will only be a part of his life if you let me. I don't want to lose him. It is hard enough to see how upset he gets when he thinks about how his baby was conceived, but I plan to be there with him the whole time. And I hope that one day he can move in with me. But that is up to you. I will not do anything with your son without your permission. I don't want there to be a problem between any of us. We all love Damien and I completely understand if you say no to my requests." I hung my head low expecting them to say could never see their son again.
"Jason, we know that you love Damien and he loves you. We want our son happy and if that means him being with you then it's ok. But I do have one warning for you, if Damien ever tells us that you hurt him in any way, be it emotional or physical pain, you will regret ever meeting me. Now I trust you with my son and my grandchild. I even trust you with my daughter.
Jen treats you the same way she treats Damien. She loves both of with her whole heart; please don't break hers or Damien's. That is all I ask of you. If you can make and keep that promise than you are a wonderful man and great for my son." Henry said with a smile. He extended his hand and shook mine vigorously. Anna just smiled at my approvingly. For the one of the few times I felt accepted.

--Blade on the floor, Blood on her wrist, She'll never know, How much she'll be missed--
I was so excited; today I was getting my second ultrasound. Everyone came with me and Jason. Mom, dad, and Jen rode in one car; Jason and I in his little black mustang. He smiled at me on the way to the doctors. The whole way there he had one hand on my leg. I had reached my third month in my pregnancy. Sadly I was still puking my guts out and I still lived with mom and dad. Jason came over many nights to have dinner with us. Jen met him with a hug every time he came into the house. I had found out that mom told Jen that the baby was mine and Jason's. She didn't want my little sister to know what the world was like yet.
We arrived at the doctor's office and sat down while we waited. I told Jen she could play with the toys on the floor, but she was happier just sitting with me and Jason. I smiled as I watched her play with Jason. They were so cute together. I never would have guessed my life would be as perfect as it was at that moment, but I am happy that I got to have this moment. We all looked up as the nurse called my name. The nurse looked surprised at how many people were with me, but she led us back to a room anyway.
Jen sat with me on the examination table as we waited for the doctor. The doctor walked in and smiled at me and Jason. "Hello Damien, who are all these people with you today?"
I smiled at her as I played with Jen's hair. "Well, this is my sister Jennifer. And that is my mom and dad. They all wanted to hear the baby's heart beating. Mom, dad, Jen this is doctor Lynx."
Mom and dad shook her, Jen just smiled at her. "Well, it is a pleasure to know Damien has all of you to help him with his baby. He is going to need all the help he can get." she smiled as Jen put her hand over my still flat stomach. "How have you been feeling Damien? Any problems?"
"None other than the constant puking. Please tell me that it will end soon. I can't take it anymore, I eat something and puke it up thirty minutes later; there is no way it can be safe for the baby." I said as Jen continued to rub my stomach.
"I know you hate the puking, but it will end soon, and now we make sure your baby is ok. Damien can you lay back please?" Jen whimpered at the idea of having to move away from me. "You can sit with him Jennifer. It's ok." Jen smiled and lay next to me. She lay on her side and rested her head on my chest. "Please lift your shirt Damien." I did so as she turned on the machine that would make it possible to hear and see my baby.
"Just warning you Damien, the gel will be cold. We always try to make it warm, but for some reason it is impossible." I shivered as she squirted the clear gel on my stomach. Jen repositioned herself so that she wasn't in the way. Dr. Lynx smiled at her and started to rub the wand over my stomach. She stopped as she got an image of my baby. My mom sighed contently and my father just looked at the screen in silence. Jason who was standing on my other side gently squeezed my hand. I looked at him and smiled.
Dr. Lynx turned on the volume and I could hear my baby's heart beating strongly. Jen lifted her head off my chest and looked at me. "What is that noise Damien?"
I put my hand in her hair and ruffled it around. "That is my baby's heart beating."
"Really? That is the baby?" I smiled and nodded at her. "Wow. Was I like that when mom was pregnant with me?"
"Yeah, exactly like that." She looked astonished. "So is the baby healthy? My throwing up my every meal isn't hurting it right?"
"Your baby is perfectly fine Damien. And when you have your next ultrasound I will be able to tell you if you are having a boy or a girl." She handed me a napkin to wipe the gel off my stomach. I wiped the gel off, pulled my shirt back down, and sat up. "Have you been taking your vitamins I gave you the first time I saw you?"
"Yeah, one before every meal, just like you said. So how long before the baby starts to move?" I inquired as Jen leaned on my shoulder.
"Your baby is already moving, but it is not big enough for you to feel it move yet. You should be able to feel it moving within the next month." She handed me the print out from the ultra sound today. It was zoomed out so I could see the entire baby, just like the last one.
"I want you to make an appointment for one month from today alright? And you have to be careful what you do. That means no over exerting yourself. Pretty soon you are going to start to feel tired easier. Do you need me to write a note for you teachers to get you out of gym class?"
"No, lucky for me we started health last month, and the funny thing is it is about pregnancies and stuff, I can learn more about what to expect with my baby. But thank you for offering. But I do have one question." I looked at my parents. They could tell by the look on my face that I wanted to be alone with Jason and Dr. Lynx. They nodded and took Jen to wait for us in the waiting room. "Is there anything that I should worry about? As you know Jason is not the biological father of my baby, it was created by a man I don't even know. Is there a way later on that I can make sure that there is nothing wrong with it before it is born?"
"Once you get farther in your pregnancy we can take a sample of amniotic fluid and have it tested, it can tell us if your baby may have any serious diseases that we need to worry about." She smiled at both of us. "I am happy that you want to keep this baby even under the circumstances Damien. If you ever have any questions just feel free to ask them ok?" I nodded. "Ok, well I have other patients to see to. Like I said no over exerting yourself, and try to take it easy in school."
I watched her leave before hopping off the table. "Jason, do you think that the baby can have any illnesses?"
"I really don't know Damien, we will just need to wait to find out, but don't worry, if anything happens you have me and your parents to help you." He hugged me and we walked out to Jen and my parents.
~~~
Two Weeks Later
I decided to move in with Jason after all. I watched him as he loaded my stuff into mom's SUV that we were borrowing for the day. He would not let me carry anything except a picture frame containing a picture of my family that was taken last June. I turned my head as I heard crying coming from upstairs. As I got near Jen's room the crying got louder. I opened her door and saw her lying face down on the bed. "Jen?" I walked into her room and sat next to her on the bed. "Jen, honey, what's wrong?"
"You're leaving tomorrow. You're moving out." She said in between sobs. I began to rub her back.
"Jen, I am still going to see you, just not as often. And Jason and I already talked to mom and dad. You get to spend every Friday and Saturday with me and Jason. I am not going that far away, I am just going a few blocks away. That is not a reason to cry. You can call me anytime. I promise."
She rolled onto her side and looked up at me. "But, you won't be here when I get up in the morning and you won't be here when I get home from school. Like you said when I was younger, we are a team and you can't separate a team." I hugged her and she rested her head on my chest. She started to cry again.
"Jen, I am going tomorrow afternoon. We have all night and half of tomorrow to spend together. And I was wondering something Jen. You see, now that I am moving out my room is going to be kind of empty. I was wondering if you wanted my room to use as your own." I said as I ruffled her hair.
She stopped crying and looked up at me surprised. "You mean I get your room if I want it." I nodded. "I get your big bed? And everything you don't take with you." I nodded again. She was acting like she was dreaming or something. "Oh Damien, thank you. But are you sure you want to do that? Where are you going to sleep when you come to visit?"
"We can share the bed, just like old times." She jumped into my arms and hugged me. "Hey take it easy, we don't want to hurt the baby."
"Sorry Damien. I am just so happy. I get your room; I have always loved your room." I hugged her and we both sat on her bed talking for a few hours. We looked up as Jason stood in the doorway knocking on the open door. "Come in Jason, join the fun, we are just talking."
"I would love to Jen, but I have to go. It is getting late. Damien, I will stop by in the morning and hopefully my car will still be in one piece. I will see both of you tomorrow." He walked over to us and kissed me and Jen goodbye. I notice Jen blushed when he kissed her cheek. I tried not to laugh when he saw her cheeks where a bright red. "Like I said, I will be back in the morning. Damien take it easy while I am gone, Jen I want you to make sure he doesn't do anything stupid ok." She smiled and nodded at him, and I thought she was on my side; boy was I wrong.
Later that night after dinner Jen went upstairs to take her shower, I told my parents that I gave Jen my room. I watched TV downstairs for a while before heading upstairs towards my room. That was when I decided Jen and I were going to spend our last night together like we used to. I walked to Jen's room and knocked when I saw her door was closed.
"Jen, it's Damien, can I come in." I heard a very silent sure; I opened the door and saw her sitting on the edge of her bed holding a stuffed bear I had made for her when she was 4. She took that stuffed bear everywhere she went.
I walked in, sat on the bed with her and put my arm across her shoulders. "Hey, I was wondering if you wanted to spend my last night sleeping with me in my room. What do you say?" She looked up at me and smiled. I stood and held my hand out to her. "Come on, we will make this a night we will never forget." Jen always loved the fact that I had a TV in my room. We stayed up until ten watching old movies.
I turned off the TV, and crawled under the blanket. Jen joined me, I lay on my side and she cuddled against me like she always does. She put my arm over her tiny waist and fell asleep before I even had a chance to turn my light off. I leaned over and shut it off. I fell asleep thinking of when Jen came into my life.
I opened my eyes and noticed it was still dark. I looked over at my clock; it was only 5:00 AM. What had woken me up? I got my answer as I felt my stomach cramping. I got up and ran to the bathroom hoping I didn't wake Jen. I puked for what seemed like forever before walking back to my room. I lay down next to Jen and pulled her close, I tried desperately to fall asleep but sadly I was losing that battle.
I laid in the bed till dawn thinking about my baby. I had to admit, I felt bad leaving Jen. But she cannot rely on me forever, can she? I stopped thinking it over when she moaned, I looked at her and smiled as she opened her eyes. "Damien, what time is it?"
"6:30 Jen. Go back to sleep." I rubbed her back.
"No, I want to get up. I want to spend every minute with you before you go." Hearing her say that nearly broke my heart.
"Okay, but first we need to go eat breakfast. Go downstairs; I will be there in a minute." I watched her leave before getting out of bed. I got changed into black denim pants and a red t-shirt before walking into my bathroom to take the vitamins. Once I got downstairs Jen was sitting in her chair wearing a pair of purple shorts with a matching purple tank top. I sat across from her with my cereal and smiled.
"Maybe after breakfast we can go play in the backyard right Damien?" I nodded as she dug into her bowl of cereal. I didn't even want to eat mine for fear of throwing it up later, but I knew for the baby I had to. Jen and I ate in silence while mom and dad slowly came downstairs.
Their eyes widened when they saw me and Jen sitting there already eating. Dad was the first to speak. "Who are you and what have you done with our kids? Usually both of you are still sleeping."
"We have been up since 6:30. We woke up and couldn't go back to sleep, so we figured why not get out of bed." Our parents exchanged a worried glance.
"Are you both feeling ok? That doesn't sound like my kids." Mom put her hand over Jen's and my forehead to see if we had a fever. Trust me if I was sick I would be in the hospital already, I was not going to risk my baby's life.
"We are fine mom. We just have a big day planned." Jen and I just laughed as mom and dad sat down with their cups of coffee. I stood and put my bowl in the sink. I looked toward the front door as I heard mom's car pull into the driveway. I walked toward the door ready to let Jason in, Jen must have heard him too cause she was right behind me. I opened the door and she jumped into his arms. "Hey, that is my job Jen." She just smiled at me and laughed.
Jason hugged me with his free hand and kissed me. "Relax Damien; you already have a place in my heart." He smiled and put my arm around his waist.
"Jason, Damien and I are going to play in the backyard; do you want to join us?" Jason looked at me before nodding. "Cool, I will go get the ball." He set her on the floor and she ran outside.
Jason pulled me into my arms and kissed me passionately. "How did you sleep last night? No problems?"
"None, except I have been up since five." He looked worried. "I woke up having to puke; I was up till Jen woke at 6:30. Jen slept in my room with me last night. We had a party, and before you complain; we were asleep before 11:00." He just nodded. "Now come on, we better get outside before Jen comes back for us." I led him outside by his hand, he handed mom her keys as we walked through the kitchen.
We played for a few hours before Jason made me go inside to rest. He was getting very protective of me and the baby lately; it seemed he was following the doctor's orders to the letter. we all walked into the house together. Jen sat next to me on the couch and Jason sat in the reclining chair. Mom walked into the living room a few minutes later. "Are you kids having a good day?" She smiled when I nodded at her. "I can't believe my baby boy is moving out today. We thought we would have you with us longer, but hey there is no way we can't stop you if you really want to go. I am just happy you are going with Jason."
"Mom, we get it." I said when I noticed Jason was blushing. He smiled when she stopped.
"Why are you kids in here anyway, I thought you were playing in the yard."
"We were, but Jason said I needed to relax for a while. He told me that I either walk in here and relax or he was going to carry me in here, I wanted to keep my dignity so I walked." I smiled at Jason.
~~~
The time had come; I walked back into my room for the last time. I could see that Jen had already moved her stuffed bear to the middle of the bed and her clothes were in the closet. Other than that my room had not changed at all. Jason walked up behind me and put his arm around my waist. "You ok?"
I leaned my head against his shoulder. "Yeah, I am fine. I just can't believe I am actually moving out. I am going to miss this room. To think this room is where we had our second kiss. And do you notice that each time we kissed Jen saw us. It was like she was sent to spy on us or something. I am just glad we don't need to hide anymore."
"I know; if I remember the kiss was over by that desk. And don't worry; we will make new memories in our room at our house. And soon we will have a baby in that house to keep us company. Now come on, everyone is waiting downstairs." I nodded as he led me down the stairs toward my family. To think there would be no more dinners with just the four of us. Even though I know I will see them again it still hurts to go away.
Mom and dad hugged me. Mom hugged Jason as well and dad shook his hand. The worst part was Jen. She was crying, and I knew that I was going to end up crying too. Even though Jason was glaring at me I picked Jen up and hugged her. We both cried for a few minutes in each others embrace. "Please don't go Damien. I don't want you to go. I want you to stay." She said through her tears.
"Jen, I will you again very soon; I promise. And on Friday you get to spend time with us remember. I am not going far, just a few blocks away. I will visit very often. You can call me anytime, even if you just want to say hi." She nodded against my shoulder as I rubbed her back. "I promise Jen, we will still be a team, and nothing will break us apart." She looked up at me and smiled.
"You promise?" I nodded and smiled at her. "Ok, but you have to come back very soon."
I hugged her, "I will Jen. Take good care of my old room ok?"
"I will." I put her back on the floor and kneeled so I was at her height. "And like I said, mom and dad have my phone number, you can call me anytime. I will be there for you, but I have to go now." She hugged me one last time before I stood up. I turned to go, but she grabbed my wrist stopping me. "What is it Jen?"
"Wait here, I have something for you." She turned and ran upstairs; I just looked at everyone and shrugged. She came back a few minutes later. She had a bag in her hands. "Here, I got this for you." She handed me the bag.
I opened it and saw a little box in wrapping paper; I took of the wrapping paper and opened the box to find a necklace. It was a horse head. "Oh Jen, it's beautiful. I love it, thank you. Can you help me put it on?" She nodded and I got on my knees in front of her. She hooked the clasp, positioned it on my neck, and stood in front of me. I hugged her again and tried to not cry.
"I wanted to make sure you had something of me when you left. I have something of you too. I have your room and teddy." She smiled at me and my heart began to melt. "I am going to miss you Damien."
"I am going to miss you too, but I have to go now. I will call you when I get there ok?" She nodded. "Hey, want to walk me out?" She grabbed my hand and pulled me forward. Jason led the way, Jen walked me out to the car and made sure I had my seat belt on before walking to mom and dad on the porch. I looked at dad holding Jen as we backed out of the driveway.
~~~
Jason POV
I looked over at Damien for a second as I back the car out of his driveway. I could tell his heart was breaking. As I began to pull away he turned in the seat to look at his family. He kept watching until we could no longer see the house, he faced front and looked down at his hands. I put my free hand in his. "Hey, are you ok? I can take you back if you want." He shook his head no. "Damien, I know this is hard for you. I went through it too with my mom. But no matter what happens I love you and I am here for you." I squeezed his hand gently as we pulled into my driveway.
~~~
Damien POV
I broke down in tears right after Jason put the car in park. I felt like I was betraying Jen by leaving her behind. Jason leaned across the center console and hugged me. He was trying to calm me, but I could not pay attention to a word he said. My heart kept going back to Jen as she watched us drive away. Dad was holding her as she cried on his shoulder. I was wondering if I really wanted to stay with Jason or not. But I figured I had to give it a try.
I wiped the tears from my eyes and nodded when he asked me if I was going to be ok. I got out of the car and waited for him at the front door. He unlocked the door and opened it; he stopped me from entering. I was about to ask him why he stopped me when he picked me up and carried me across the threshold. We just got into the house when I got the feeling I needed to puke. "Jason put me down." He smiled at me. "Jason, I am serious, put me down." He put me down and I ran to the bathroom.
I was silently praying for the barfing to end when Jason came in and began to rub my back. I looked up at him and he smiled. He helped me stand up. I leaned on him after washing out my mouth. He was leading me toward the living room. He sat on the couch and I sat next to him. I leaned against him and smiled. I fell asleep to him rubbing my back.
~~~
Jason POV
I smiled as I heard Damien's breathing slow. He was falling asleep. I knew that going away from his family was hard on him, but I planned on making him feel happy to be in my home. I got up, picked him up, carried him to our bed, and lay him down. He sighed and rolled onto his side. Memories of the first night I brought him here flew into my head. That was over three months ago. Who would have guessed that by playing hero I would find someone I really loved.
I lay next to Damien and put my arm around his waist. I smiled as he cuddled closer to me. I was so happy to finally have him sleeping in my bed. I was even happier to have him with me, I was afraid he would never move out of his parents house.
~~~
Damien POV
I awoke feeling someone lying next to me with their arm around my waist. I knew right away the person was too big to be Jen. Then I remembered that I had moved in with Jason. I rolled over while still in his grip. He looked so peaceful just laying there, my knight in shining armor so to speak. Now it was my turn to wake him the way he woke me that day. I leaned forward and kissed him. For a few seconds he was unresponsive, but then he started to return my kiss with the same amount of passion if not more. We separated and smiled at each other. Just then I remembered I was supposed to call Jen when we got here safely.
I sat on the edge of the bed while I pulled my phone out of my pocket, and dialed the number for the house. It rang once and I heard a familiar voice. "Damien? Is that you?" I laughed.
"Yeah Jen, it's me. I am sorry it took so long for me to call you, but once we got here I fell asleep. Are you mad?" I rubbed my neck as I awaited her response.
"No, I'm not mad. But I was starting to get scared. You left over 4 hours ago. It's already 6:00 PM. You left at noon."
"I'm sorry Jen; I didn't mean to worry you. I was kind of tired. How are you feeling?" I looked at Jason as he sat next to me.
"Okay, but I still wish you were here. Who am I going to go to at night when I have a nightmare?"
"You can go to mom and dad. They are there for you." I heard her sigh into the phone. "Jen, it will be ok. I will come to visit soon I promise."
"Ok, mom says its time for dinner. I have to go."
"Alright, call me before you go to bed ok?" I smiled when I heard her uh-huh. "I love you Jen."
"I love you too Damien. You better be awake when I call you." She said with such gusto I was proud of her.
"I will be, bye honey." I hung up the phone and looked at Jason. "That girl seriously knows how to make me feel like my heart is melting. And I have a feeling this baby is going to have that same talent. How am I going to survive that?"
"Oh relax, you have me. And like you told Jen, you are going to visit soon anyway right?" I nodded. "Then stop acting like a mope and live your life. You still need to meet my mom. I have told her a lot about you. S0 far she seems to approve. She told me to bring you over tomorrow afternoon if we aren't too busy."
"Ok, does she know about the baby?" He nodded. "Does she think you're just helping a friend or does she know we are dating?"
"Relax, she knows. Now come on, we need to get you fed. What do you want; order in or my cooking?" He stood and offered me his hand.
I raised an eyebrow and looked at him. "You cook? This I have to see." He nodded. "But first," I grabbed his hand and pulled him back onto the bed. "How about another one of those stop my heart kisses?"
"I am not so sure we should stop your heart when it is supporting two people." I laughed and kissed him passionately. He returned my kiss eagerly. Then he was above me. I smiled at him, he leaned over my and kissed me again. "Are you sure you're ok with this?" I nodded knowing what was to come. He started to rub my legs and slowly worked his way up.
He played with my manhood for a few minutes before getting me up on all fours. That was when memories of that night came flooding back.
~~~
Jason POV
How could I do something so stupid? Damien was lying in my arms crying because I was stupid. I should never have done that to him. It didn't register that what I was doing was wrong till he started to scream and try to crawl away from me. I feel like such and idiot. I grabbed him in my arms and began to rock him gently. He kept repeating how sorry he was, but I knew it wasn't his fault. It is the man who did this to him that is at fault.
I wish I knew who did that to Damien so I could make them pay. He shouldn't have had to suffer like that. The only good thing about that happening was me meeting him and his baby. I rocked him until he fell asleep in my arms. I laid him down and went to make dinner.
--Blade on the floor, Blood on her wrist, She'll never know, How much she'll be missed--
After what had happened the night before I was afraid Jason would be mad at me. I woke up to find the bed empty. After our ordeal he made us dinner and we ate in silence. I went to bed before him, so I have no idea if he came in here at all. I got up, stretched and walked into the bathroom to take those stupid vitamins that had become part of my normal routine.
I walked downstairs and found Jason sitting on the couch reading the newspaper. He looked up when he heard me walk in then looked back at the paper. I was about to talk to him when my phone rang. I knew who it was without having to look. I put the phone to my ear and grunted. "Damien! How was your first night? I missed you so much. Teddy kept me company."
"My first night was great." I could not tell her about what happened between me and Jason. "Did you have any problems sleeping?" I put my hand over my stomach and noticed it was starting to feel firmer. I did not even notice that Jen had said something till she yelled my name into the phone. "Sorry, what did you say?"
"I said I slept ok, but I still missed you. Teddy kept guard all night just like you taught him to." I smiled when I remembered what she was talking about. It was a few days after I gave her that bear, I had 'taught' it to guard her. She was so excited. "Is the baby doing ok?" She had already become so attached to my baby ever since I told about it.
"Yeah Jen, the baby is fine. Listen, I have to go sweetie. I have a busy day, but I will call you later ok?" I smiled as she said ok. "I love you Jen." She just grunted and hung up the phone. I looked toward where Jason was sitting and saw he was gone. I cursed under my breath and went searching for him in the house.
I found him in the garage under the hood of his car. "Jason? Can we talk?" He turned and looked at me. "Listen, about last night. I wanted to say I am sorry. It is my fault. I led you on and then I ruined everything. I am sorry; I hope that this doesn't ruin things between us."
I didn't notice my hand was resting on my stomach until Jason took my hand in his. He pulled me into his arms and hugged me. "It isn't your fault Damien. I should have known better than to try that. I am so sorry; I promise it will never happen again. And things are still the way they were before, nothing ever changed. I still love you and I still want to be there for you and the baby." He kissed my forehead before looking into my eyes. "Nothing will break us apart, ever." I smiled at him as he pushed my hair away from my face. "Now go take a bath, we are supposed to visit my mom today remember?"
"Yeah, ok. And maybe after that we can surprise Jen if it's not too late." He hugged me one more time before sending me on my way. I turned on the water to fill the bathtub as I undressed. I put my clothes in the hamper before turning off the water and sliding into the tub. The hot water felt wonderful, I felt like it was washing my stress away.
~~~
Jason POV
I could not believe Damien thought last night was his fault. My hear t just broke when I heard him say that. I really wanted to find the man responsible for hurting Damien and make him pay. An hour had gone by and Damien was still taking his bath. I walked into the bathroom and found him rubbing his stomach. I watched him for five minutes before he noticed me. "Having fun?" He smiled up at me. "I think you lost track of time love. You have been in here for an hour. You have become wrinkled, come on let me help you out." He stood as I grabbed the towel; I wrapped it around him and picked him cradling him in my arms.
~~~
Damien POV
I had to admit Jason was really something. I never would have guessed that I was in the tub for an hour. I never even noticed the water had gone from hot to cold. He carried me into our room and set me down. He watched me as I went to the closet and picked out a black t-shirt and black pants to match. At first I felt embarrassed to dress in front of him, but I decided we were a couple now so it didn't matter. I threw the towel on the bed and began to get dressed.
I stopped when he whistled at me. "Oh stop that, this is not the time for things like that. I thought we had to go see your mom." He nodded and leaned against the doorframe. Five minutes later, we were driving toward the center of town. I was surprised when he pulled his car into the driveway of an old Victorian house. Jason put his hand on my leg and smiled at me.
We got out of the car and walked to the front door. Jason knocked on the door and put his arm around my waist. A woman wearing a black dress opened the door. "Jason, how have you been?"
Jason let me go and hugged the woman before kissing her cheek. "Hi mom." He put his arm back around my waist. "Mom this is Damien." I got nervous as she looked me over from head to toe. Jason put his head against my neck. "Relax, her bark is worse than her bite." He whispered into my ear. "She is harmless." The woman extended her hand for me to shake. I grabbed her hand and she pulled me close for a hug. She let me go and I almost fell, I would have if Jason hadn't grabbed me. "Mom, be careful, he is pregnant remember?"
"Oh I am so sorry, I forgot. Come in boys." She moved to the side and let us in. she led us into the living room and motioned for us to sit. "My name is Nancy. My boy Jason has told me a lot about you Damien. This may not be proper for me to say, but I am sorry about what happened to you. I want you to know that Jason will help you a lot with your baby. Jason is always helping people. I remember when he was 14 he helped our old neighbor with her baby.
It was snowing pretty hard and our neighbor went into labor. She could not get out of her house cause of the snow and the phone lines were out. Jason just had this feeling to go visit her. He found her lying on her bed in pain. He helped her deliver her baby. He even stayed with her until we could get someone with medical experience over. She always said that if was not for Jason her baby would have died. The police even gave him a metal for helping her." Nancy said with enthusiasm.
"Mom that is enough. Damien already loves me for who I am. He doesn't need to hear your stories." He looked at me. "My mom is always telling people about my past thinking that it will make them love me."
"It is ok. Like Jason said I love him so much already. He has been real helpful to me. He saved me that night, and he made sure I was ok. He even brought me home. My little sister Jen has really taken to him. He always plays with her when he came over to visit me." I smiled at Jason as I squeezed his hand gently.
"You didn't tell me he had a little sister Jason. You only told me he lived with his parents." Jason just nodded as if me meeting his mom was embarrassing him.
~~~
The meeting with Nancy went on longer than we expected. When we pulled in my parents' driveway it was already five at night. I got out of the car, walked to the door, and walked into the living room where I could hear Jen playing her video games. I crept up behind her and put my arms around her waist. She tried to get out of my grasp, "Dad, I am getting to the good part just a few more minutes." I sat on the table, used the remote to turn off the TV and waited for her to turn around. When she saw me her eyes widened and she smiled. "Damien! You're here!" She ran into my arms and hugged me.
When she started to squeeze tightly I had to pry her off. "Easy on the hugs Jen. We don't want to hurt the baby right?" She shook her head no. "Well, I figured since we were in town I would come visit my little sister. How could you confuse me with dad anyway?"
She jumped onto my lap and leaned against me. "Sorry Damien, why didn't you say you were going to come visit today?" She looked at Jason standing in the doorway. She jumped off my lap and ran into his arms. I smiled as he picked her up and twirled her around. I knew from that moment he was really going to be a good dad for my baby.
Jason continued to play with Jen while I walked into the kitchen to see mom. I just leaned against the door jam watching her, waiting for her to notice me. She turned around with a pan holding her famous lemon chicken in her hands. She noticed me after she set the pan on the table. "Damien, how are you baby?"
I walked over and hugged her. "I am fine mom. I just saw Jen. She thought I was dad trying to pull her away from her video game. She is playing with Jason right now."
"That is good. She really missed you Damien. How are things going with you and Jason?" She wiped her hands on her apron.
"Good, I met his mom earlier today. She is a real nice lady. She was so supportive of me and Jason. She was trying to make me feel better about Jason by telling me all the good things he has done."
I turned as I heard dad walk through the back door. He looked at me and smiled. "Damien, welcome home son. I am glad to see you. So why the visit today? I thought you weren't stealing your sister till this Friday?"
"Yeah, I am going to pick her up Friday after school, I was in the neighborhood and decided to come see my family." I turned when I heard laughter. Jen came running into the room with Jason chasing her saying he was going to tickle her. Jen hid behind my legs.
Jason looked at me then at Jen. "Dang, you found my one weakness Jen. I guess you win this round, but one day you owe me a rematch." Jason looked at my parents. "Hello Anna, Henry. I hope you don't mind the unannounced visit, but we were in the area and decided to surprise Jen."
My father walked over to Jason and hugged him. "You are both welcome here anytime. I am glad you guys came by anyway, Jen was getting restless. She missed her big brother." Dad walked over to me and hugged me gently before ruffling Jen's hair. I laughed when she glared at him.
"Oh stop it Jen, we all know you miss me. You call me everyday, are you enjoying my old room?" She hugged my leg and nodded. I sat in the chair and she sat on my lap with her head on my chest. I smiled as I hugged her. I could not wait until I was holding my baby like I was holding Jen.
"Can you and Jason stay for dinner Damien?" Jen asked as she looked into my eyes.
I looked at my mom to make sure it was ok; she nodded. "Sure, as long as it's ok with Jason."
Jason walked over and stood beside me. "Sure we can stay Jen. Why would we want to leave a pretty lady like you and your mom?" Jason and I looked at my mom in time to see her blush. I was surprised. I had never seen my mom blush in her entire life.
During dinner, we all talked about how life had changed since I moved out. Mom said that Jen was not waking as much since she moved into my room. I was glad to hear she was sleeping better. I was afraid things were going to get worse once I moved out.
After dinner, I sat talking to my parents as Jen took her bath. She came back downstairs a few minutes later. She stood in front of me with the book in her hands. "Damien? Can you read to me before I go to sleep?" I used to read to her every night, I was surprised that she didn't call me every night to have me read her a story over the phone.
I nodded and she led me upstairs, when we walked into my old room, I was surprised to see that she didn't change anything about it. It was the way it looked when I still lived in it. I smiled as she crawled into the bed and got under the covers. I sat next to her and started to read her favorite story, Dragon Rider. It wasn't a story actually but a novel. It used to be my book, but she fell in love with it so I gave it to her one year for Christmas. I used to read a chapter to her every night before bedtime.
Once she fell asleep, I got up, turned off the light and walked downstairs. Jason was waiting for me. It was time for us to head back home. I told mom and dad I would pick Jen up at four on Friday. They just smiled and hugged Jason and I before we walked out to his mustang.

--Blade on the floor, Blood on her wrist, She'll never know, How much she'll be missed--
I had noticed my morning sickness was starting to go away. I was so excited. Today was the day that Jen would come spend the weekend with Jason and me. I had learned a lot about what to expect of my pregnancy during health class. I was waiting for the end of the day so I could talk to my teacher and ask a few questions. Luckily, health was my eighth period class.
As everyone filtered out of the room, I took my time. Once everyone was gone, I walked up to Mr. Jansen. "Mr. Jansen?" He looked up at me and smiled. "Can I ask you a question?" He nodded; this was going to be awkward. No one at school except Jason and the nurse knew I was pregnant. "Well, I was wondering if you could tell me more about what to expect in the fourth month of a pregnancy."
"Well, that is usually when the mother will begin to feel her baby move and also when she should start to show. Why are you asking me this Damien?" He put his pen down and looked at me as if I did something wrong. My parents gave the same look me when they thought I got a girl pregnant.
"Well, I…I…" I looked down at my hands and took a deep breath.
"He wants to know because he is having a baby." I turned as I heard Jason answered for me. I smiled at him as he walked over and hugged me. "Are you ok? I was getting worried, you weren't waiting at the car." He whispered into my ear. I nodded and looked back at Mr. Jansen.
"Really? How dumb do you think I am Damien? A man cannot get pregnant. It is physically impossible." He scowled at me. "You know I don't like pranks."
"This isn't a prank Mr. Jansen." I turned and set my book bag on the closest desk and took out the picture from my ultrasound. I handed it to him, "That was done three weeks ago, you can ask my parents they were there and so was Jason and my little sister. You can even ask the nurse, she saw the paper from my doctor. This is no prank, I just want to know what to expect with my baby."
"Fine, we will go see the nurse right now, the three of us." He got up and led Jason and I down to the nurse's office. He walked in and looked at Mrs. Lee. "What is this I am hearing about Damien being pregnant." I was afraid that someone would have heard him; I looked at the door and saw Jason had shut it already. It was as if he read my mind.
"Yes, it is true. I called his doctor and she said so." Mr. Jansen threw the ultrasound onto her desk. Mrs. Lee picked it up and smiled. She looked at me and Jason. "Oh, is this the baby?" I smiled at her and nodded. "How cute, I guessing this was the done after you told me?" I nodded again. She handed the ultrasound back to me. "Damien, Jason you boys can go."
"No, they can't go. I want answers and I want them now!" Mr. Jansen was yelling now.
"Go ahead boys, and Damien I will talk to you Monday morning ok?" I nodded and Jason and I walked out of her office.
~~~
Mrs. Lee POV "Sit down Mr. Jenson." I pointed to the chair next to him and he sat down. "What is wrong with you? Being a health teacher you should know better than to upset someone who is pregnant."
"Well, also as a health teacher I never heard of a boy getting pregnant. It isn't physically possible."
"Well, it is now get over it. It may be different, but it happened and Damien wants the baby. He and Jason are going to raise it together. If I hear that you upset him ever again I will report you. Is that understood?"
I watched him as he ran a hand through his hair. "Yeah, fine." He stood up and left without another word.
~~~
Jason POV
I held Damien's hand as we walked out to the car. I pulled him over to the car and leaned him against the passenger door. "Are you ok?" He nodded at me. "Hey, don't pay any attention to what Mr. Jensen said, he is just an idiot. I know the baby is real and so does Mrs. Lee and our families. That is all that matters, Mr. Jensen only thinks what he wants to believe. He is a nobody, all that matters is what we believe and I know that we believe in our baby."
~~~
Damien POV
I looked up at Jason with surprise when I heard him. "Did you just say our baby?" I felt tears come to my eyes. He nodded at me and put his hand over my stomach. "Oh Jason, you don't have to say that. I know you care about the baby, but you don't have to call it yours." I sniffled as I tried not to cry.
He pulled me close and hugged me. "Not here, get in the car. We will talk about this on the way home." He opened the door and helped me into the seat. I watched him as he walked around the front of the car and sat next to me. He started the car and headed home. I looked at my phone and saw it was already three. School had ended at 2:20. I cannot believe Mr. Jensen kept me that late. "Damien, I do think of that baby as ours. I care that much about you and the baby. You two mean everything to me. I may not be it's father biologically, but I will love it as if I was."
I smiled at him and placed my hand on his leg. "That means so much to me to hear you say that Jason. I am so happy you feel that way, thank you." I leaned over and kissed his cheek.
~~
After watching TV with Jason for an hour, we hopped back into the car so we could go pick up Jen. Jason walked into the house before me. Jen greeted him as she jumped into his arms. "Hey kiddo, you ready to go?" She nodded and he set her down so she could gather her things.
Mom and dad walked over and hugged us. "Hey boys, Jason I want you to drive very carefully with that car on your way home. It is bad enough I let you drive Damien and my grandchild in that car." Mom said in her normal protective manner.
"Relax Anna; I would do anything stupid when I am driving Damien or Jen. They both mean a lot to me. If it will make you feel better one day I will take you for a drive to show you I can drive carefully. I also extend that offer to you Henry." I smiled as dad's eyes lit up. You see my dad is a real car fanatic. I have noticed many times how he looks at Jason's mustang.
Jen walked back into the room with a bag in one hand and teddy in the other. Jason took her bag, we both smiled as she kissed my parents goodbye. We walked out to the car and Jen sat in the backseat. Jason made sure she had her seatbelt on before he even started the car. Once we were on our way, Jason kept looking at Jen in the rearview mirror to make sure she was being good.
When we got home, Jen waited for Jason to stop the car and turn it off before unbuckling her seatbelt. I got out and pushed my seat forward so she could get out. Jason grabbed her bag out of the trunk and we walked to the house. I unlocked the door and Jen ran inside. "Follow us Jen." I said as we walked toward the room she would be staying in. I got to the door and put my hand on the knob. "You will be sleeping in here." I opened the door and moved so she could walk in. ever since I moved in Jason and I had been working on the room just for her.
She walked in and looked around. She looked back at Jason and me with a huge smile on her face. Jason walked in and put her bag on the bed. The room was painted purple with horse stickers on the walls. She hugged Jason and I. "Thank you so much. It is beautiful. I love it." The last time Jen was this happy was when I gave her teddy. She placed teddy on the bed.
"Put your clothes in the closet Jen, meet us in the living room when you are done." Jason said with authority.
I put my hand on Jason's arm. "You go ahead I will help her put the stuff in the closet. Why don't you start dinner ok?" Jason nodded understanding that I wanted to talk to Jen alone. We watched him leave. I opened Jen's bag and started to put her clothes on hangers and put them in the closet. "Are you excited Jen?" I looked at her as she nodded. "Good listen, I want you to know that if you wake up at night you can come sleep with me and Jason ok?"
"Do you really mean it?" I nodded and she ran into my arms. "I love you Damien."
"I love you too Jen." She pulled away from me and I could see she was crying. "Why are you crying Jen?" She just shook her head. "Everything is ok Jen. There is no need to cry." I wiped the tears away with a tissue. "Now how about we go see what Jason is making for dinner ok?" She nodded and we walked to the kitchen.
We found Jason leaning over the stove making cheeseburgers and french-fries. "You can cook Jason?" Jen asked with the curiosity of a 7 year old. I really loved her gusto; I remember when I was like that. Once I got that memory, I regretted it. My baby was going to be the same way.
Jason turned to look at us and smiled. "Of course I can. Who do you think has been making sure your brother is eating properly?" Jen started to laugh. I just glared at Jason as he smiled. I was going to make him regret that once Jen went back home. Jen sat at the table as I put the plates on the table. Jason put the plate of cheeseburgers and the plate of french-fries in the center of the table. We sat down and ate like a family.
~~~
After dinner, I let Jen watch a little TV before I made her take her bath. Jen went to bed at 10:00 since it was the weekend. I thought there would be no problems at all that night, boy was I wrong. Jason and I went to bed at 10:30. I fell asleep the moment my head hit the pillow. I woke up to Jen shaking me gently. "Damien?" Her voice was a whisper. It was as if she was trying not to wake Jason.
I looked at the clock and saw it was only 2:30. "What is it Jen." I asked as I rubbed my eyes. "Did you have a nightmare again?" She nodded. "Ok, come on. Hop in." I scooted over and patted the bed, just like old times. Jen fell asleep clutching teddy in one hand and my arm in the other. I looked over as I heard Jason groan. I quickly shushed him.
"What is it?" He whispered as leaned on his elbow and looked over my shoulder. He saw Jen and understood immediately. "She had a nightmare didn't she?"
I nodded. "She just fell asleep. No one can figure out what causes her nightmares either. When she was younger, mom and dad paid for her to go see a therapist and a psychiatrist to see what was wrong, but no one could ever figure it out. All we know is she doesn't get nightmares when she is around me." I explained at I looked at my baby sister with remorse.
"I don't know love. But you need to go back to sleep. You need your sleep. We can talk about this another time." I just nodded and closed my eyes.

Jen packed her stuff back into her bag. I helped her as Jason made our lunch. "Can't I stay longer Damien?" She asked while she looked at me with puppy dog eyes. This is when I regretted teaching her that move.
"No Jen, I have something to do today. And you have school tomorrow; I told mom I would have you home by 12:00. It is already 11:00. You are going to come again on Friday." I zipped her bag closed. "Now get teddy, we are going to go have lunch then you are going home." I said with my most authority like voice. Jen just sighed and grabbed teddy. She walked out of the room and went downstairs.
Jen had enjoyed the past few days with Jason and me. The only problem was when she had nightmares every night and came to sleep with Jason and me. I hope that my child didn't get nightmares like Jen does. I walked downstairs to find Jen sitting at the table. She saw me and huffed. "Jen stop it, it is not like you will never see me again. I just have things to do today." I was not telling her that today I would learn the gender of my baby. I had that option when I got my last ultrasound but decided against it at the time. I wanted that to be a special moment for Jason and me.
"Fine." She looked at teddy who she still clutched in her arms. Jason looked back at us with a frown. I could not believe Jen was acting this way. I had never seen her act like this.
I sat in my chair and looked at her. "Jen." She just ignored me. "Jen, I know you are mad that you have to leave, but I have stuff to do." She still looked away from me and acted like she didn't hear me. I looked at Jason as he set lunch on the table. I had a look in my eyes of please help me.
Jason sat down next to me. "Jen what is wrong? Why are you not talking to Damien?"
She had set teddy on the table so she could eat her grilled cheese sandwich. "Cause, he is sending me back home. I want to stay here, but he is taking me back."
"Jen, you have to go home sometime. You have school tomorrow and we have a very busy day. We are going to visit my mom. She is taking Damien and me shopping for things for the baby." Luckily all that was true after my appointment we were going shopping with Nancy for things for my baby, at least he wasn't lying to her.
"But I want to come; I want to help pick out things for the baby. I want to meet your mom. You met my parents. I want to meet yours." Jen said with a pout, this was the moment of truth. Would Jason fall for the pouty face or would he hold his defenses up?
"No Jen, you will help us next time. Today is a day just for Damien, my mom and me. You have been with us for the past 3 days. Your parents miss you and want you to come home." I was proud of him; he stood to his guns. Jen just sighed out a fine.
"Jen, what would you name the baby if you could?" I asked hoping to raise her spirits before she left.
"Well," She thought it over. "I kind of like the name lily for a girl. And for a boy I like Daniel." She looked at me with a smile. Yes, I got her to smile, that means there is a chance she might leave here happy. "Why?"
"I was just curious that's all. Jason and I have been thinking about names lately. I was wondering what names you like." She just said oh and finished eating her lunch. It was 11:45 when the three of us headed to my parents house. We got there a few minutes before 12:00.
I walked into the house with Jen behind me. Jason came in last carrying Jen's bag, which he set in the nearest chair. Jen ran into the kitchen looking for mom and dad. Dad picked her up and kissed her cheek. Mom came over and hugged me; she looked at me surprised when she put her hand over my stomach. I just looked at her and put my finger over my lips telling her to keep it a secret. She nodded and hugged ne again. You're showing." She whispered in my ear.
"I know. I have an appointment today. I am going to learn the gender of the baby." I whispered back to her. "But keep that from Jen for now." I let her go and she just nodded at me. She hugged Jason next. She must have told him something because he smiled and nodded.
I walked over to dad and hugged him. He just looked surprised; I just shook my head no. He smiled at me; I could tell he was proud. He hugged Jason before Jason spoke up. "Well, we have to go. We are meeting my mom so we can go baby shopping." He kissed Jen's cheek before taking my hand in his. "Be good Jen. We will see you again next Friday ok?" she nodded. I kissed her cheek and we walked out.
"So what did mom say to you?" I asked him as we got into the car. I sat in my seat and buckled my seatbelt. I looked over at him when he still hadn't answered me. "Jason what did mom say?"
"She just told me she was happy for us. She also said that she wanted me to call her when we know what the baby is." He said casually as we drove to my appointment.
"Oh, cool." I felt a slight fluttering in is stomach but paid it no attention. "I am so excited; today we get to learn the gender of the baby. What do you want Jason, a boy or girl?"
"A boy, we don't need anymore girls right now with Jen around every weekend. She is a handful already. We don't need another handful to help her." Jason said as he smiled at me and put his hand on my leg. I again felt fluttering but ignored it.
"Hey, it would be nice to have a girl. I have been thinking; if it is a girl I kind of like the name Lily. It is sweet, if I am having a girl we should name her Lily." I began to draw circles on my stomach. I was surprised when the fluttering started again once I stopped moving my hand over my stomach.
When I noticed that I again moved my hand across my stomach then stopped. I had not even noticed that Jason had talked to me or that he had pulled over the car until he put his hand over mine to get my attention. "Damien, are you ok?" I looked at him with surprise. He clearly looked worried. "Damien, what is it? Is the baby ok?"
I smiled at him. "The baby is great, perfect." He looked confused. I grabbed his hand and rubbed it across my stomach. I stopped when I felt the fluttering again. "Can you feel that?"
Now it was his turn to be shocked. "Is that what I think it is?" I nodded. "The baby is moving, oh my god. The baby is kicking." He was so astounded.
"Yeah, it started as we were leaving mom and dads but I didn't really pay attention to it at first. But I noticed it would happen whenever I moved my hand across my stomach. Whenever I stopped, I would feel it." I rubbed my stomach again just so I could feel the baby moving. "We better get going or we will be late for the appointment." The rest of the way there Jason kept his hand over my stomach. I could see him smiling every time the baby kicked.
We sat in the waiting room for fifteen minutes before the nurse called us back to a room. The nurse made sure we were situated before walking out. A few minutes later Dr. Lynx walked in. "Hello Damien, Jason. How is everything?"
"Great, we felt the baby move for the first time on the way over here." I put my hand over my stomach hoping the baby would move again.
"Great that means everything is right on schedule. And after today you will know whether to buy dresses or pants." She turned on the machine. "Can you lift your shirt please Damien?" She squirted the gel on my stomach and I didn't even notice it was cold. I watched anxiously as she rubbed the wand across my stomach. I smiled as the baby moved because of that slight action.
"You need to tell your kid to calm down Damien or I won't be able to get a clear picture." The baby stopped moving and she kept the wand over one spot on my stomach. "Damien your daughter is completely healthy. She has proved that by how much she is moving around." She smiled at me with the wand still over my stomach. She moved the wand and looked at the screen with wonder. "Oh my god, Damien you get another surprise." I looked at her nervously. "There is another baby, another girl."
"I am having two girls?" She nodded. She zoomed the picture out and printed it for me to take home. She then zoomed it back in to show me my daughters. I looked at Jason with surprise. "Oh my god, Jason we're having two girls." I looked back at Dr. Lynx. "But how did we not notice the other baby sooner?"
"My only guess is that she was hiding behind her sister and we didn't notice. But she is just as healthy as her sister." I had never seen Dr. Lynx so surprised. Even when she learned I was pregnant, she didn't seem this surprised.
"Are you ok Damien?" I nodded. "We get two girls." He leaned over and kissed me. "Just wait until we tell Jen, she will be so excited."
"Yeah, one she got to name the one baby and two because she gets two girls to play with when she is older." We both looked at the screen with joy. Who would have guessed that in 6 months we would be bringing two baby girls into our home?
"Damien, I heard from the nurse at your school that you got into problems with your health teacher. Is everything ok?" I nodded at her as I wiped the gel off my stomach. "Well, I want you to know that your teacher should not have yelled at you like that. You don't need any stress during your pregnancy. Just try to ignore him ok?" I nodded again. I looked at Dr. Lynx when she put her hand on my leg in a caring gesture. "Try not to stress yourself out. With any pregnant person, there is a risk of premature birth caused by stress. If you feel like anything is wrong, and I mean anything I want you to call me right away."
"Thank you Catherine." This was the first time I ever used her first name. She handed me the print out. "And Catherine, thanks for helping me with my baby…I mean my daughters. You could have sent me away, but you didn't, thank you." I hugged her gently. She patted my back before releasing and walking to the door.
"Like I said no stress, got it." I nodded as she walked out the room. I looked at Jason as he put his hand on mine. On the way out, I made an appointment for next month with Joan the receptionist. We walked out to the car in silence. We got half way to Nancy's house before I spoke.
"Can you believe it Jason? We are having two girls. Wait until Jen hears about this. She will be so excited." I put my hand over my stomach as my daughters moved again. "And I have decided. I want the one girl to be named Lily Jane. I want to name the other girl Aura Rose. Wait until we tell Jen she named the baby. She will probably knock one of us down."
"Well, we better make sure I am the one she knocks down then. We don't want to hurt you or Lily and Aura." When Jason said the names for my daughters, it sounded right. It sounded like it was meant to be. "You better call your mom and tell her you're having girls. I told her we would call when we found out."
"Yeah, I forgot." I reached into my pocket and pulled out my phone. I called the house and expected Jen to answer. I sighed when mom answered. "Mom, it's Damien. We just left, I am having two little girls." I smiled and looked at Jason as I said my last sentence; he smiled back at me.
"Oh, that is great." I figured Jen showed up cause her next sentence confused me. "Thanks for the call Mildred. I will visit when I can. Bye." She hung up and I put the phone in my pocket.
"She sounded happy. But I think Jen showed up so she had to act weird. She started calling me Mildred and saying she would visit when she could." Jason just laughed. I put my hand on his leg and he placed his hand over mine. "Hey Jason?" He looked at me. "Do you think that Lily and Aura won't mind having a guy for a mom? I mean most moms are women, do you think it will cause problems for them when they are older?" I asked as I rubbed my stomach. He pulled into his mom's driveway and parked the car.
He put his hand under my chin and turned my face making me look at him. "Damien, Lily and Aura won't care that their mom is a guy. They won't even care if you walk around in a skirt. You are their mom and they love you already. You are their entire world right now and always will be. There is no reason to think they would want a woman as their mom. She has you and she is very happy. She proved how much she loves you already, every time you rub your stomach she moves in response to you. They love you Damien and you love them. That is all that matters." I just hugged him and smiled.

By the time we got home yesterday, it was already six. We had bought two cribs, a stroller that holds two, a few dresses, and stuffed animals. I bought new pants and shirts since the ones I had were beginning to get snug. Luckily I could get them in men's sizes, I would have freaked if I had to wear women's clothes. It took us an hour to get everything in the house. Jason carried in the stroller and cribs. For the time being, we put everything in one of the guest rooms that we hoped to convert into a nursery for Lily and Aura. He helped me put my new clothes in the closet of our room.
Now we were on our way to school. I remembered that Mrs. Lee wanted to see Jason and me first thing this morning so we left earlier than usual. We got to school 30 minutes before the first bell was supposed to ring. We walked into Mrs. Lee's office. I had my new ultra sound picture in hand. Jason closed the door behind us. "Hey Mrs. Lee, you wanted to see us." She looked up when I spoke.
"Yes. How are you feeling Damien? I hope Mr. Jensen didn't bother you." She looked worried yet caring.
"No, I am fine. I saw Dr. Lynx yesterday." I held out the new ultrasound. "She said I am having two girls." She took the picture and studied it. "We decided to name them Lily and Aura. We went shopping for a few baby things yesterday."
"That is great Damien. I am glad to hear that. I am also happy that Mr. Jensen didn't bother you. He just doesn't understand. And Damien, if you ever feel the need to rest you can come down here. I know that since you are getting farther in your pregnancy you will tire more easily." She leaned over, pulled a key out of her desk, and handed it to me. "That is the key for the elevator. I want you to use that now instead of walking up and down all those stairs. Also, I talked to your other teachers this morning and told them what is going on. They all agreed that if you feel like something is wrong you have permission to just get up and leave."
"Thanks Mrs. Lee, that is very kind. I have no idea what I would do without you to help us." I looked over as I heard someone knock on the door. Jason and I nodded and walked out. The boy who knocked looked at us like we were doing something wrong. Jason and I leaned against the wall by his locker until the bell rang. We agreed to meet later by the car.
~~~
Jason POV
I was surprised when I was called down to the nurse's office at noon. I walked into the office and saw Damien lying on one of the beds. I immediately looked at Mrs. Lee. "What is wrong with Damien? Are he and the babies ok?"
"Yeah, they are fine. He had a panic attack. A teacher found him in the hallway having trouble breathing. He has no idea what even started the attack, but he is fine now and so is Lily and Aura. I called you down here so you both could go home. He needs rest right now. I already cleared both of you to leave. Just go sign out in the office and you can go. And make sure you call Dr. Lynx and let her know this happened." She explained to me.
I nodded, as I looked at Damien asleep on the little bed. "I will be right back." I walked across the hall and signed out both me and Damien before walking back. I smiled when Mrs. Lee told me that she would talk to both our teachers later that day. "Thank you so much." I walked to where Damien was sleeping and gently shook him. "Damien, wake up love." I smiled as his eyes fluttered open. "Come on, we're going home. Mrs. Lee says you need to rest." I helped him up and he leaned on me as we walked to Mrs. Lee to thank her.
He leaned on me all the way to the car. I helped him sit down and he fell asleep a few minutes after we left. When we got home, I turned off the car, walked to the house and unlocked the door. I walked back to the car, unbuckled Damien's seatbelt, carried him into the house, and laid him gently on our bed. He sighed contently, put his hand over his stomach, and fell back asleep. I laid next to him and pulled him close. I was so glad he, Lily, and Aura we ok.
~~~
Damien POV I woke up expecting to still be in the nurse's office at school. I was surprised to see the blue walls of our bedroom. I rolled onto my right side and looked at Jason sleeping peacefully. I had no idea how I got home, but I was happy I was in his arms. I kissed his lips and purred as he began to kiss back. He cupped the back of my head to prevent me from pulling away until he was done.
When he finally released me, I was breathless. "Damien, I was worried about you. Mrs. Lee called me down to her office and said you had a panic attack. She cleared us to go home. I was so afraid something bad happened to you and the twins. Never scare me like that again, please." He was practically begging.
"I am fine; Mrs. Lee checked me and the babies. She said I had a panic attack, but we can't find out what caused it. But I'm fine now." I said as I sat up.
"Well, I am still gonna make an early appointment with Dr. Lynx to make sure. I want to make sure nothing happened to either of you." Before I could protest, he called Dr. Lynx and told her what happened. "You have an appointment tomorrow at noon. And you are going if I have to drag you there by your toes." I just sighed and agreed with him that was always safer. I looked at my phone and saw I had missed two calls. I was not surprised when it said the calls came from Jen. That kid was acting like a stalker or something.
I called back and was surprised when mom answered the phone, "Mom, did Jen try to call me twice?"
"She tried the first time, the second time was me. I was wondering if you and Jason would not mind babysitting Jen for a little while. Your father and I are going to visit an old friend. We figured that Jen would hate going with us so we figured she could stay with you if you don't mind." She asked me.
"Hold on mom, let me ask Jason." I put the phone against my chest and looked at Jason. "Mom wants to know if we can babysit Jen for a few hours while they visit an old friend." Jason nodded. "Sure mom, we can watch her. What time do you want us to pick her up?"
"We will drop her off, we are gonna be driving past your house anyway. We will drop her off around five. Thanks again Damien and make sure Jason knows how happy we are you can do this for us."
"I will mom. I love you too, bye." I put the phone on it's charger, the battery was starting to die. "Mom and dad are dropping Jen off at five. We have about an hour before Jen shows up. What do you want to do?"
"I don't think we should try what I want to do seeing as you are really with child now." Jason smiled at me as he rubbed my stomach.
"Oh really?" I got on my hands and knees and started to crawl up his body. "I don't think Lily and Aura will mind if their mommy has a little fun." I started to unbutton his pants. I looked up at him when he grabbed my wrist. "What?"
"Are you sure? Things didn't turn out so well last time. I don't want that to happen again." Jason said with concern in his voice and written on his face.
"I have an idea, just trust me." I finished unbuttoning Jason's pants and blushed when I saw he was in black boxers with red hearts. "A little festive are we?" I pulled off my own pants and boxers and threw them to the side. I pulled down Jason's pants and boxers before straddling his hips. I began to gently rub him with the tips of my fingers. I smiled when he groaned. "Told you I have a plan."
After a few minutes of gentle rubbing and fondling, I leaned on my knees above him. I grabbed him and began to lower myself toward him. I sighed with contentment when I impaled myself on him. I just sat there for a few minutes enjoying the way it felt before I began to ride him. "I can see you have found a way around our problem my love." I stopped in my tracks when he said that.
"You called me your love. That is the first time you said that." I leaned forward and kissed him. I laughed when I felt my daughters kick. I began to ride him again. I was surprised that the rocking motion seemed to calm them. I smiled as I heard Jason groan. I sighed as he emptied into me. I sat on Jason's hips with him still in me; I began to pant. "I think we definitely fixed our problem." I said with a smile.
"I think your right." He put his hand over my stomach. "I am guessing we put Lily and Aura to sleep didn't we?" He said as he tried to regain his breath, all I could do was nod. "I love you so much Damien." I leaned forward and kissed him. He pulled me close enough that he was holding me but not close enough we could crush Lily and Aura between us.
He rolled both of us over so we were lying on our sides with him still in me. We laid there with our foreheads leaning against each other as we began to breathe normally. I whimpered sorrowfully, as Jason pulled out of me. "Oh, I was having fun." I said as I kissed him.
"I know love, but we better take a shower and get cleaned up before your parents get here with Jen. Go get in the tub, I will be there in a minute, I am gonna throw these sheets in the washer." I kissed him before I got off the bed and sauntered over to the bathroom. I grabbed my pants and boxers along the way. I threw everything in the hamper as I waited for the tub to fill.
I was looking at myself in the full-length mirror when Jason came behind me and put his arms around me from behind. He rested his head on my shoulder as he rubbed my stomach. He leaned around me and turned off the water for the tub. He got in first and had me sit between his legs.
~~~
After spending 15 minutes in the tub, we got out and dressed. Mom knocked on the door about 10 minutes later. Jen hugged my leg as mom gave us the phone number of where she would be staying, then she surprised me more, she gave the number for her cell phone. Mom didn't believe in cell phones. But I took the number and hugged her. She hugged Jason and thanked us again for watching Jen. She kissed Jen and went back to the car. We watched my parents drive away before we walked into the living room and sat on the couch.
Jen sat on Jason's lap and leaned against him. "Hey Jen." Jason said as he tried to get her attention. She looked up at him and smiled. "You want to know something?" She nodded. "It's really good. You know how you thought about naming the baby Lily?" She nodded again. "Well, we decided if it is a girl her name will be Lily." Jen squealed with delight and hugged Jason. She would have knocked him down if we had not already been sitting on the couch.
She hugged me next, but she was sure to be gentle cause of the baby. She looked up at me with surprise. "What is wrong Jen?" She looked at my stomach then back at me. "What happened?" I knew what had happened, the moment she hugged me Lily and Aura decided to kick.
"I felt the baby kick." She looked at Jason, my stomach, then back at me. "How is that possible?" Jason and I both smiled at her.
"Well that may be because of this." I lifted my shirt so she could see my stomach. She looked even more surprised. "I am surprised you didn't notice my stomach had gotten bigger yesterday. And there is another surprise." She looked at me anxiously. "The baby is named Lily. The other baby is named Aura."
She looked confused for a minute as she tried to figure it out. The moment she did her face lit up. "You're having two girls?" Jason and I nodded at her. "Oh my god, I can't believe it, you're having two babies and I got to name one." She hugged me again. "Thank you Damien." She jumped into Jason's arms and began to kiss his face while she hugged him. I would have been a little jealous, but it was better she did that to Jason than me. She ended up lying in Jason's lap with him tickling her. I grabbed Jen's foot when she came close to accidentally kicking my stomach. But I wouldn't let her know that. I began to tickle the bottom of the foot I captured. She laughed as she tried to escape our grasp.
For dinner, we decided to go out. It was a hot summer night, we decided to go to McDonalds since Jen loved their burgers. We sat outside and looked up at the night sky. Jen kept pointing out to Jason every constellation she could find since she loved the stars. I bet Jason knew all the constellations already, but for her benefit, he pretended not too. We all got back to my house, it felt so weird to say my house now, around nine. We figured mom and dad were still with the friends, so we stopped at their house on the way and picked up a few things for Jen.
We got back to the house and made her take a bath and sent her to bed. We were all asleep by 10:00. I woke to a weird noise. I looked at my clock it was 3:00 AM. I recognized the sound; someone was knocking at the door. If it was my parents coming for Jen I was gonna kill them for waking me up so early. I opened the door expecting to see them, but I got a real surprise. I opened the door and found two police officers on the other side. "Can I help you officers?" I asked groggily.
"Are you Damien Jameson?" I nodded. "We need to talk, can we come in?"
"Uh, sure I guess." I moved to the side so they could enter. We all looked up the stairs at Jason when we heard him coming. He came up to me and put his arm around my waist. I knew already he came to check up on me. "These officers want to talk to me. Officers, this is my boyfriend Jason Thompson." They just nodded and sat on the sofa. "What did you want to talk to me about?"
"I am sorry to tell you this, but your parents were in a car accident. They didn't make it, and your little sister is missing. No one knows where she is." The one officer said with concern.
"My sister is upstairs. Mom and dad dropped her off at 5 last night. When they hadn't come for her by nine we went their house and got Jen some clothes for bed and for school tomorrow just in case. She is sleeping in her room upstairs right now." I looked at the stairs when I heard screaming. "That would be Jen, excuse me." I walked away leaving Jason with the cops. I walked into Jen's room and sat on the edge of her bed. She immediately hugged me while she cried. "What is it Jen? Talk to me, what happened?"
"I had another nightmare Damien. It was bad, something had happened to Lily and Aura. I dreamed that you lost them Damien." She cried against my chest. I rubbed her back until she calmed down. I had to tell her about mom and dad. I stood up, picked her up and placed her on my hip before I began to walk back downstairs. Jen continued to cry on my shoulder as we went down to Jason who was sitting alone on the couch. I noticed the cops were standing by the old fireplace we hadn't even tried to use. They looked at me as I sat with Jen on the couch. Jason immediately took Jen and tried to soothe her. Once they saw Jen was with us they nodded and left. They said they would talk to me later.
I wiped a tear from my eye, I had to tell Jen about mom and dad. "Jen, we need to talk. It's important." Jen looked up at me from Jason's lap. "Honey I have bad news. Now before I tell you I want you to try to act like the big girl you are ok?" She nodded. "Jen come here," She crawled across the couch and sat on my lap. She was careful not to lean on my stomach when she put her head on my chest. I looked at Jason sadly; he just nodded. "Jen, those men were here for a reason. It's about mom and dad. Jen they were in a car accident and they didn't make it."
"What? Mom and dad are dead?" I nodded as a tear streamed down my face. "They can't be, we were gonna go to the zoo after school today." Jason went to stand so he could leave us to talk but I grabbed his wrist pleading silently for him to stay. "They can't be dead." She leaned into me and began to cry harder. She was crying so hard she was hiccupping. I rubbed her back attempting to calm her, but that didn't last long. We were both crying in each other's arms. Jason hugged us both as we cried.
We decided to get whatever sleep we could before the sun rose. Jason carried Jen and I leaned against him as we walked upstairs together. We all were lying in mine and Jason's bed. I felt Lily and Aura move, but I paid it no attention, I was too upset to care at the moment.
Sadly, none of us got anymore sleep last night. At 7:oo AM Jason called Mrs. Lee to tell her we would not be in school today. I called Jen's school to report her absent. Later Jason was gonna go to my parent's house to get more clothes for Jen. He said he would get all of her clothes and bring them here. But for the time being we all we upset, especially Jen and I. "I am gonna go make you guys breakfast." He kissed us both before walking out of the room in nothing but a pair of denim jeans.
Jen slid closer to me and put her head on my chest. She had her hand on my stomach, but she didn't even try to play with Lily and Aura when they kicked at her hand. I could understand how Jen felt; we were both depressed. The cops said Jen could stay with us. Even though what they had to say would not have mattered, there was no way I was letting Jen out of my sight. She was all I had left of my family, our parents were only children and our grandparents died when I was three.
Jason came back upstairs with a tray of food. He set it on my lap and sat next to Jen and me on the bed. Jen looked at her plate before pushing it away. "Come on Jen, you need to eat something. Please?" she pulled back the plate and began to pick at her bacon and eggs. I would have not eaten anything, but I had to for my daughters and for Jen. While we ate, Jason went to my parent's house to get more clothes for Jen.
Jason had not returned yet, and I heard knocking at the front door. Jen was sleeping so I slid away from her and went to answer the door. I was surprised to see Nancy standing there. "Hey Damien. I heard about your parents and I came to help." I just walked to her and hugged her as I cried on her shoulder.
~~~
Nancy POV Jason had called me and told me to go watch Damien and his sister. He told me what had happened the night before. Now, as I held Damien as he cried on my shoulder I understood why Jason had sent me. This boy was a total wreck. I started to rub his back. "Damien you need to calm down, for the babies, you need to calm down."
"I can't Nancy, I just can't. I saw them for the last time last night when mom and dad dropped off Jen. Mom was waiting at the front door with Jen and dad was in the car. I got to say goodbye to mom, but I didn't get a chance to say goodbye to my dad. I will never see them again." He continued to cry, soon he was crying so bad that he started hiccupping.
I led him to the couch and made him sit. "Damien, listen to me. You need to calm down, if not the stress can cause early labor. We don't want that do we?" Damien shook his head no. "Ok. Then take a deep breath and try to relax a little. Good boy, how are the babies anyway? No problems since I took you and Jason shopping?"
"None, we chose a name for them though. We are naming them Lily and Aura. My sister chose the one name, I chose the other." Damien said as he wiped away his tears. I noticed he kept one hand over his stomach. Damien and I both looked up as I heard a little girl's voice.
~~~
Damien POV "Damien?" I heard Jen call out from my room.
"I am down here Jen. Come downstairs." I looked at the stairs as I waited for Jen to come down. She came down slowly with her head held low. She sat next to me and leaned against me. I put my arm around Jen in an attempt to soothe her. "Nancy this is my little sister Jennifer, we just call her Jen."
"So this is the little one I keep hearing about. Hi Jennifer, it's nice to meet you." Jen just nodded.
"Jen this is Jason's mom, remember I told you about her." She just nodded again. She looked at Nancy for a minute and went back to leaning her head on my shoulder. I was just about to talk when I heard a muffled hi from Jen. I wish she could have met Nancy under better circumstances, but I had no choice over things. We all looked up as we heard the front door open. Jen got up, ran to Jason, and jumped into his arms. She put her head on his shoulder as she began to cry again. I looked at him with sympathy for my sister.
Jason looked at Nancy. "Thanks for coming over mom. I didn't want them to be alone." He began to rub Jen's back while shushing in her ear. He sat next to me and I leaned on his other shoulder. I smiled when Jen fell asleep again. "How are you feeling Damien? Is everything ok?"
"I am fine. I am just surprised that's all. I never thought that I would lose them this early." I began to rub my stomach subconsciously; I didn't know I was doing it until Jason grabbed my hand in his. He looked worried. "Relax, Lily and Aura are fine. I just, well, I can't believe they will never to get meet their grandparents."
~~~
Jason POV The past week has been very hectic; none of us have been in school since we heard about Damien's parents. We were all sitting on the back porch when I heard knocking at the front door. "I will be right back." I said as I got up, I walked to the door and was surprised to see Mrs. Lee standing there. "Mrs. Lee, what are you doing here?"
"Jason I am sorry to come over like this, but I came to make sure Damien and the twins were ok. Neither of you have been in school for the past week. I wanted to make sure there were no complications with his pregnancy." I waved her inside and she sat on the couch.
"Thank you for your concern, but there is nothing wrong with his pregnancy. We have not been in school because his parents died in a car accident last Monday night. We have been very busy. Damien wasn't in the mood to go to school since none of us have slept really. His little sister lives with us now and she wakes up at night cause of nightmares. And add the death of his parents and you understand why we have been absent." I looked surprised when she handed me a bag. I looked inside and recognized our schoolbooks. "What is all this?"
"I went to your teachers and got the homework both of you have missed. I didn't want either of you to fail for the year. Your graduation is in a month Jason. I didn't want you to miss it, and I wanted to make sure Damien finished his junior year before Lily and Aura were born. I hope you don't mind."
"Not at all, thank you." I set the bag on the floor next to the couch. "Do you want to see Damien? He is on the back porch with his little sister Jen." Mrs. Lee nodded and I led her to the porch. "Damien, look who came to make sure you are ok."
~~~
Damien POV I looked up to see Mrs. Lee with Jason. "Mrs. Lee, hi." I stood up and walked over to her. She met me halfway and hugged me. "I am so surprised to see you here."
"Yeah, I brought the homework you and Jason have missed. Like I told him, I wanted both of you to finish this year and not have to go back or go to summer school. I hope that you come back to school this Monday. We really miss you." She said with concern.
"Yeah I will try to be in school on Monday. I am sorry for not being in but I can tell Jason already told you what happened." She nodded. "Me and my little sister have been taking it hard. We haven't really gotten any sleep. None of us have been in school for the past week. But I will try to be in on Monday, depending." I looked over at Jen as she groaned in her sleep.
"Well, if there is anything I can do, please tell me. I don't mind helping." I nodded at her. "If there is ever anything I can do just tell me and I will do it. I know how hard all this can be. I went through this once too."
"Thank you Mrs. Lee. This means a lot to me." Jason went to Jen as she started to cry. "We'll try to be in on Monday. And thank you for bringing our work to us." I started to walk her to the front door; I opened it. "And we will let you know how everything goes ok?" She nodded before walking away.
--Blade on the floor, Blood on her wrist, She'll never know, How much she'll be missed--
Today was the one day that Jen and I both regretted. It was the day of my parent's funeral. Jen dressed in a black skirt and black shirt. She even asked me to paint her nails, she wanted them black but I told her no. we finally settled on a dark blue. As we waited for her nails to dry, I did her hair in a French braid. Jason walked in wearing a black suit. The funeral was in 2 hours. I would have dressed the same way, but now that I had started showing, I could no longer fit into my suit. So I was wearing black denim pants and a black t-shirt. I had on black sneakers and I had painted my fingernails black.
Jason walked up behind me and put his arms around my waist. I leaned into him and rested my head on his shoulder. "How are you feeling love?" He asked me with concern. "How is Jen taking all this?"
"I am fine, and Jen is being really quiet. She only talks when I talk to her. I have no idea she is handling it." I turned to face him. "Maybe you can talk to her and see what she says?" He nodded before he kissed me. I just stood there in his arms for what seemed like eternity before he went to talk to Jen. I sat on my bed rubbing my stomach, which I had rarely done since I learned about my parent's death.
I smiled when Lily and Aura kicked my hand as if trying to see what was wrong with me. Then I did something I never did before. I started to talk to them. "Hey Lily hey Aura, I am your momma. I know I haven't paid much attention to you lately, but I have been too depressed to do anything. I hope you're not mad at me girls. I had hoped you would meet my parents one day, but that was ruined. They are...were great people." My voice started to waver. "They meant a lot to me. They always were there for me, like I will be there for you. I will never leave either you. I promise; you, Jason, and my sister are the only things I have left." I grabbed a tissue when I started to cry. I lay back on the bed and rubbed my stomach as Lily and Aura moved.
I looked up when I felt the edge of the bed sink. Jason was sitting there. "Damien are you ok? Your eyes are red. Were you crying again love?" He sat me up and I leaned against him. He started to rub my back as I tried to stop crying. "Damien you need to calm down. I don't want to rush to the hospital because you're having an anxiety attack." I began to relax when he started to rub my stomach. I noticed lately that someone rubbing my stomach could cause a wide variety of sensations depending on my mood.
"Jason thanks for being here for me and Jen. I wouldn't have any idea how I could handle this without you." I looked at the clock at saw it was time to head to the funeral home. Jason helped me up and went to get Jen as I put my coat on. We walked out the car with our heads hung low. We drove to the funeral home in silence. The only sound was the occasional sniffle from Jen. It was sad to admit, but even Jason's black mustang matched the occasion.
We were surprised at how many people showed up for the funeral. There were people there that I didn't even know, but they knew my parents. Some of them were offering me money; I was surprised. They were all so kind, it figured that mom and dad would have such kind friends. Once the funeral was over Jason drove us home. On the way, Jen fell asleep in the backseat. A part of a poem came into my mind. "What though the radiance which was once so bright, be now for ever taken from my sight, though nothing can bring back the hour, of splendour in the grass, of glory in the flower; we will grieve not, rather find strength in what remains behind." Jason put his hand in mine and looked at me. He looked concerned. "It was a poem I found years ago. I never knew what it meant until now." He began to rub my leg in an attempt to soothe me. Once home, he carried Jen into the house and set her gently on the couch.
I sat in the love seat gently rubbing my stomach. I was regretting going to school tomorrow, but I knew I had to go because I had already missed a week. We had already asked Nancy to take Jen to school tomorrow so there was no way I could get out of it now. Jen clearly told me that if she had to go to school so did I; why did mom have to make Jen so courageous. Jen was like mom in every sense; if I didn't know better I would have said that they were sisters.
~~~~
Jason and I were leaving a little early so that we could talk to our teachers. After we got our things together, we both kissed Jen and headed to school. I told Jen if there was any problems she could call my cell phone and I would answer it. Once we got to school, me and Jason went our separate ways to talk to our teachers before the bell rang. I handed in all the work from the week that I was absent and also told my teachers about the situation with my phone. They all agreed it was ok, but I had to leave it on vibrate. I agreed and thanked them.
The rest of my day went pretty well; I had expected Jen to call, but she didn't. Jason and I headed home at 2:20. We got home 10 minutes later. I set my books on the table before sitting on the couch with a sigh and putting my hand on my stomach. Lily and Aura were moving continuously. Jason sat next to me and put his hand in mine. "You have a bad day love?" He asked with compassion.
"No, Lily and Aura just decided to kick when I am trying to relax. They always kick when I am exhausted or trying to relax. It's like they are trying to torture me." I smiled as Jason began to rub my stomach. "What time is it?" I looked at my phone and saw it was 2:45. "We have to pick up Jen at 3:30. I can't wait until we can have the bus drop her off here like it used to do when she lived with mom and dad. We really need to get that fixed soon. And since the twins are due in 6 months we need to start thinking about getting a car we can drive them around in once they are born. No offense to you, but I can't see driving my infant daughters around in a mustang. We need to get an SUV or mini van like mom had." I smiled when Jason gave me the look that said I was nuts. "Relax, you will still get to keep the mustang, do you really think I would make you get rid of that car? I love that car, it has many memories that you and I made together." I slid across the couch and leaned my head on his shoulder.
We sat that way for 30 minutes. At 3:15 Jason left to get Jen. I was surprised when my phone rang, I looked at the caller ID and saw it was Jen's school. "Hello?"
"Yes, Damien hi this is Mr. Sanders. I am the principal at your sister's school. I have a problem. There is a boy here saying he is here to pick up your little sister. We have never seen him before and won't let him take her, he said we should call you."
"Would his name be Jason by any chance?" I heard Mr. Sanders grunt. "He has permission to take my sister. He is my fiancée. I would have picked Jen up myself but I am not feeling well. I sent him to get her, I am sorry for not saying anything about it. But I figured that you would let Jen see him first. She will recognize him, I can promise that." I said with anger, how could they refuse to let Jason take Jen home. I would not really send any random person to get my sister.
"Thank you for clearing this up Damien. I can promise this will never happen again. Please accept our greatest apologies. And Damien is there a chance I can have a meeting with you and your fiancée in the near future?"
"I will let you know. Goodbye Mr. Sanders." I hung up the phone before he even had a chance to say anything. I set the phone on the coffee table and laid back on the couch waiting for Jen and Jason to come home. I opened my eyes when I heard the front door open, I sat up as Jen ran into the room and hugged me. "Hey Jen, how was school?" I asked as I hugged her back. She jumped onto the couch and put her hand over my stomach. We both smiled as the twins kicked at her hand.
"It was ok, everyone felt bad for me. They said how sorry they felt for me." I hugged Jen again when she looked like she was gonna cry. "I miss mom and dad Damien."
"I know Jen, so do I. Why don't you go work on your homework ok?" She nodded and grabbed her book bag before running to the kitchen to get started. Jason smiled at me before sitting next to me and hugging me close to him. "I think you must have scared her teachers love." Jason just looked at me and started to laugh. "They were afraid you were a stalker or something." He laughed louder and I just smiled. "And Jason, Mr. Sanders wants to meet with us as soon as possible. I just told him I would look into it, but we will have to do it soon." I leaned against him and sighed.
~~
The day both of us had dreaded came, Jason and I were on our way to pick Jen up from school. We were also having a talk with Mr. Sanders; Jason parked the car and smiled at me encouragingly. "Relax honey, this will be over quickly and we can go back home. Just remember that what people think doesn't matter. All that matters is what you, me, and your sister think. No one else's opinion is important." I nodded and squeezed his hand before getting out the car.
We walked to the school hand in hand. Jen was sitting in the classroom with Mr. Sanders; she saw me and Jason and ran to us. We both hugged her before Jason picked her up and set her on his hip. I remembered when Mr. Sanders was the principal when I went to this school. The years had finally caught up to him. He looked me over before smiling. "Hello Mr. Sanders. I haven't seen you in years. I hope this meeting won't be about my past. My fiancée doesn't need to know how bad I used to be." Mr. Sanders and I laughed when Jason looked at me quizzically with one eyebrow raised. I just gave him a look that said I would explain later. He nodded and smiled pulling me into his embrace.
"Actually Damien this meeting is about you and your sister. First I want to talk about something Jen brought up in class the day your fiancée picked her up. She said she could not wait for your babies to be born. And I want to know what she is talking about." He looked at me over again. I felt like he was thinking I was an alien or something.
"Jen is talking about her nieces; they are due in six months." I rubbed my stomach in a loving yet protective manner. Mr. Sanders looked at me with surprise. Jason walked over to me and put his arm around my waist and Jen kissed my cheek. They were both there for me in my crucial moment. "She is talking about the babies I am carrying at this moment Mr. Sanders." His mouth opened as if he was attempting to speak, but nothing came out. "Now if you excuse me I have to get home." The three of us turned and started to walk out.
I stopped when Mr. Sanders grabbed my wrist. I turned and looked at him. "Damien, I don't know what to say."
"You can apologize to me and my brother. You said I was lying and making up stories." Jason and I smiled at Jen at the same instant. I doubt that Jen had a cowardly bone in her body. Mr. Sanders just looked at her. "We are waiting Mr. Sanders."
"No Jen, it's ok. All that matters is what we think not what people like him think. You, me, and Jason know that the babies are real. For all I care, he could think I am making this up." I kissed her cheek again before looking back at Mr. Sanders. "Mr. Sanders, I hope you liked your job. I am gonna report you to the school board and I will make sure you are no where near my sister ever again." I turned and walked out the room with Jason following not far behind me.
"Wow, you were so strong Damien. You scared him; I could see it in his face. You scared him. He should have apologized to us though Damien. What he did and said was mean." I took her book bag as Jason set her on the ground. I opened the door and moved the seat so she could get in.
"Yeah, he may have been mean Jen, but there are sometimes when it is better to not say anything than to say something. You must remember that ok?" she nodded and I leaned into the car to kiss her again. I put the seat back and sat down with a smile on my face. My little sister was defending me to the principal. I hope my daughters have as much courage as Jen.

I woke to something weird, I looked at my clock and saw it was 10:00 in the morning. How could I have slept so late, and why had Jen not woken me like she does every Saturday morning? I looked around the room to see if anything was different. Everything looked the same. I got up and walked to the full-length mirror to see how my pregnancy was progressing visibly. I first looked at myself from the front then from the side. My baby bump was definitely noticeable if I was not wearing loose clothing. It was even more noticeable now since all I wore to bed was a pair of shorts. It was getting to warm to wear a shirt to bed as well. I could not believe that in the matter of a week Jason will be graduating from high school. I looked at the door as I heard Jen laughing.
I walked to the door and pulled it open. There was no Jen but there was a note. The note was telling me to go to the backyard. I walked down the stairs and walked out to the back porch. Sitting on the table was another note telling me to walk out to the garage. I walked to the garage and saw that for once the door was closed. I pushed the button to open it and almost ran.
~~~
Jason POV Jen and I waited in anticipation for Damien to open the garage door. When the door got half way up we yelled surprise and I saw Damien flinch but he stood his ground. He looked shocked when he saw me and Jen standing next to a green Honda we had picked out for him. He walked into the garage and looked at the car with surprise. Jen ran to him and wrapped her arms around him. "Happy birthday Damien." She said as she smiled up at him.
I walked over and pulled him close to me. I kissed him passionately even as Jen watched. "Me and Jen have been talking and we decided that you were right about bringing our daughters home in the mustang. So we have been looking at cars and got you this Honda that you can drive the babies in once they are born. I already took it for a test drive and it is perfectly safe." He hugged me and I smiled when I felt Lily and Aura kicking through his skin.
"Oh my god, the car is perfect. I guess you two really know me if you could find me the perfect car. But there is one problem Jason. I never got my license. I won't be able to drive the car." He leaned against me as Jen sat in the driver's seat and pretended to drive. We both laughed when she made noises to go along with her pretend driving. "I got my learners permit, but I never got the chance to get my license."
"That is not a problem. I can have mom watch Jen and I can take you for your test." I pulled him close and we watched Jen as she continued to 'drive'. "So, since you have your learners permit how about we take the car for a spin. You can drive." I pulled the keys out of my back pocket and handed them to him. The smile on his face melted my heart. "Go put on a shirt and shoes and we will go." He ran into the house as fast as his pregnant body would allow. I looked at Jen with a smile. "So Jen, are you racing someone?" she just started laughing.
~~~~
Damien POV I walked into our room and grabbed a loose fitting red shirt. I grabbed my sneakers and set them aside. I got a pair of black jeans out of the closet and put them on. I finally put on my shoes and grabbed my wallet before going back to the garage. Jen was sitting in the back seat and Jason was in the passenger. I opened the driver's door and got in. it felt good to be behind the wheel of a car again. I put the key in the ignition and smiled at Jason when the car started. He patted my leg and I pulled the car out the driveway. I looked up at the rear view mirror and saw Jen looking around smiling.
I smiled as Lily and Aura started to kick. I knew the adrenaline I was feeling had gotten to them too. I had not driven a car in a year, but I still remembered everything dad had taught me. I decided to stop at Nancy's for a visit; Jason noticed right away my plan when I turned the car towards his mom's house. Jen began to giggle when she saw Nancy's house. She had really started to like seeing Nancy ever since she met her. We all agreed that one day she would sleep over at Nancy's like she used to do with me and Jason. I turned off the car and looked back at Jen. She smiled at me before unbuckling her seatbelt and walking into Nancy's yard. Nancy must have heard her because she came outside.
Me and Jason got out of the car and walked to her. "Hello boys, why the visit today? And Damien did I see you get out of the drivers seat of that car?" I nodded at her. "I had no idea you could drive. Jason told me he was buying a car, but I had no idea he was buying it for you." She hugged me and Jason before going back to playing with Jen. "How are the twins?"
"They are trying to torture me." I said as I put a hand over my stomach as my daughters kicked. "They are always kicking anymore. I wish they would just take a break." Me and Jason sat on the swing in the front yard. I smiled at Jason when he started to gently rock the swing back and forth. I was surprised when I noticed the twins stopped kicking when the swing was rocking. I put down my foot to make Jason stop so I could test my theory. I was right, they started moving again and stopped moving when I let Jason rock the swing. I was gonna have to get a swing for our house. "Honey we need a swing like this at home, the babies like the rocking motion."
"Ok love. We will get one. I can't wait until next week; I will finally be free from high school. We won't have to worry about Mr. Jansen much longer. Just one more week and we are free of that jerk." He put his hand in mine and pulled me closer. I leaned my head on his shoulder.
"You will be free. I will have to go back next year, but I don't see a point to it though because I will be 7 months along when school starts and once the twins are born I won't really be able to go back. Maybe I will wait to get my diploma until they are older. We already have to take care of Jen and once the twins are born I doubt we will really get any sleep. I really think I am gonna get my diploma when they are older." Jason just kissed my forehead before resting his cheek on my head.
At five that night we all left to go home. I had an appointment tomorrow and I think Jen was exhausted after playing with Nancy all day. On the ride home Jen fell asleep in the back seat. Once we were home Jason got out and gently got Jen out of the car without waking her and carried her to her room. I covered her and kissed her goodnight. She just sighed and rolled onto her side. Jason and I went to bed a few hours later.
~~~~
Jason POV I woke to a real surprise. Jen was on my side of the bed shaking me. Usually she woke Damien if she had a bad dream, why was she waking me. I grunted and rubbed my eyes. "What is it Jen, what's wrong?" She rubbed her eyes and I saw they were red and swollen like she had been crying. I sat up and lifted her up onto my lap. "What happened baby, tell me."
"I had another bad dream Jason. I would have woken Damien, but he and the babies need their sleep." She leaned against me while she clutched teddy to her chest. I waited for her to tell me what had happened. "My dream was about mom and dad. It was a good dream, but it made me upset and I couldn't fall back to sleep. I miss mom and dad so much Jason."
I put my finger over my lips telling her to be quiet. I stood up holding her close and walked into the living room. I sat on the couch and she still held on to me. "I know you miss your parents Jen. I miss them too; they meant a lot to all of us. You need to remember that your parents may be gone but they are always in your heart. As long as you remember them they are not completely gone. I know you love them and always think of them. Trust me I really know. But they are still here through you and your brother. You are both a part of them so they live on through you Jen. Look at you; you have your mom's eyes and your dad's smile. Damien ended up with your dad's hair and your mom's facial features. You both are the one thing that keeps your parents memory alive. As long as you remember that they will always be with you ok?" Jen nodded and hugged me. I hugged her back and tried not to cry as a memory I didn't like tried to return.
~~
Damien POV I woke up at 8:00 AM to find the bed empty. I got up and went to Jen's room to see where she was, I opened her door and found her room empty. "I wonder where daddy and your aunt Jen is." I said to my daughters as I walked down the hall and downstairs. My heart climbed into my throat when I saw them both sleeping on the couch. They looked so peaceful; I wondered why they were down here but decided to find out later.
I walked into the kitchen to make us breakfast. I flinched as I felt a pair of hands go around my waist and a head rest on my shoulder. "Jason, you scared me!" I said while I laughed. Even our daughters were attacking him for scaring me; I could feel them kicking more now that he was hugging me.
"I thought I was supposed to be the cook around here. You are supposed to be relaxed and not doing anything to can stress you or our daughters, who are kicking my arms." He laughed as the babies continued to kick him. "And before you ask Jen went to take a bath before breakfast." I turned around in his arms and kissed him. "Now sit down and let me finish making breakfast."
"I can handle it Jason. I think I know how to make scrambled eggs for my boyfriend and little sister. Just let me have my fun ok?" Jason nodded and sat up on the counter next to the stove. "Why were sleeping on the couch anyway?" I looked at Jason as he sighed. "What happened?"
"Jen woke me up last night, she said she would've woken you but you and the babies needed your sleep. She said she dreamed about your parents and that the dream upset her and she couldn't go back to sleep. I didn't want to wake you so we went to talk in the living room. We talked for about half an hour, after a while she calmed down and fell asleep. I must've fallen asleep with her cause the last thing I remember is rubbing her back as she slept." Jason looked up at me with a sad expression on his face.
I looked at Jason with complete surprise and astonishment. "Jason, what is it? Why do you look upset?" I set the scrambled eggs and bacon on the table before walking back to him and hugging him. "Tell me, please."
Jason wiped a stray tear from his eyes. "There is something I never told you Damien. It has been a secret with me and mom for years. It's part of the reason I was so willing to help you when I found you." I put my hand in his and he sighed deeply. "I had a little sister, her name was Toby. She was only six when she was killed. A man we trusted was taking Toby to the park to play, mom got worried when he never brought Toby back. We started to search for them. My world crashed when I found Toby in the same alley I found you. She was naked and she wasn't breathing. I called an ambulance, but it was too late. I called mom and she met me at our house, at the time I still lived with her. Anyway we called dad and he came home. We found out later that the man we trusted with Toby had raped her and killed her. He just left her there. After that dad blamed mom for what happened and left us. The man was caught and he now serves a life sentence in jail. That was 5 years ago, Toby would be 11 now, actually she would be 11 next month.
When I found you the memory of that day came back, but there was a difference; I could help you but I couldn't help Toby." I hugged him and he just cried on my shoulder. "Part of the reason I am so protective of you and Jen is cause I feel like I got a second chance to do with you what I couldn't do with Toby." I had never seen that side of Jason before. I never would have guessed that he had any problems in his life. "Jason, it's ok. The fact that you tried to help Toby means everything. I can understand how you feel. If anything happened to my little sister I would hurt whoever had the nerve to hurt her. I also know that you may have regrets but there is nothing you can about them now."
We both looked up as Jen walked into the room. "Why is Jason crying Damien? Is everything ok?"
Jason hopped off the counter and walked over to her; he picked her up and hugged her. "I am fine princess, I was just happy. I was just so happy about the way my life is. I could not ask for anything else then what I have now." He smiled when Jen wiped his tears away. "We better eat breakfast kiddo, your brother cooked this time, and I can say I have never had his cooking before; it will be a real interesting experience." Jen laughed when I glared at Jason, he just smiled at me before attacking his breakfast.
At 12:00 we all got into the mustang and headed to my appointment. On the way there Jen kept playing twenty questions with me and Jason. We made up a Disney version for her cause she was always watching her Disney movies. Surprisingly Jason and Jen were tied and I was in 2nd place. Once we got to Dr. Lynx's office we all walked into the waiting room and Jen played with my daughters while we waited to be called back. About 30 minutes later Joan called us and led us back to a room. I sat on the table and Jen took her spot next to me. The door opened and I looked up. "Hello Damien. Ho have you been feeling? I can see you brought Jen along today, how are you feeling Jen?" Jen just smiled at her and went back to rubbing my stomach. Thankfully Jason had called Catherine yesterday to brief her about what had happened so we wouldn't have to tell her with Jen around.
"Hey Catherine, I am feeling ok but I think my daughters have made a plan to torture me. All they do is kick anymore; the only thing that soothes them is the swing at Nancy's house. I think they made a pact or something, but I know they are in on it together." I laughed when Catherine smiled at my joke. "But really I am fine. But Jason is yelling at me lately cause he says I am gonna stress myself out just by making breakfast." Jason blushed and Catherine and Jen laughed together.
"Feeling them move that much is normal now. You are only a few weeks away from being 5 months. The fact that they are moving like that is to be expected. Now if you don't mind lying down we will do your ultrasound." I laid back and Jen took her position next to me. I shivered as the cold gel touched my skin. I smiled when she rubbed the wand across my stomach and I could see my daughters clearly. I was surprised at how fast they were growing inside of me. I remember when mom was pregnant with Jen I was just as surprised at how quickly mom's body changed as Jen grew inside her. "Now let's see how their hearts sound." She turned to the machine and pushed a button turning on the volume.
My heart climbed into my throat at the sound I heard. "Are they crying?" Catherine just nodded at me. "Why are they crying, is something wrong?" I felt a tear stream down my cheek.
"Relax Damien, they are fine. It is completely normal for a baby to cry while inside it's mother. It is their way of making their lungs prepared for when they are born. There is nothing wrong with them at all." I looked at Jason and he grabbed my hand. I just looked at the screen as I could still hear my daughters crying inside me. As Catherine printed out the newest picture of my daughters I wiped the gel off my stomach. I smiled when Jen kissed my stomach and rubbed it as she told the babies there was no need to cry. Catherine looked at me and Jason. "So I hear that school ends next week, you're graduating right Jason." He nodded. "Well, congratulations I remember what my graduation was like. And Damien I know you have another year to go, what is your plan for that?"
"I am gonna go back to school once Lily and Aura are older. I would not be able to handle taking care of them and school at the same time right now." Jen glared at me when she heard my plan. "And Jen is going into 3rd grade next year aren't you Jen?" she just nodded.
"Well, that is a good plan if I do say so myself. I am glad you thought this over already, it is better to take care of it now then have to worry later on." She handed me the ultrasound print out and gave me more vitamins before walking out.
I made another appointment with Joan before we all walked out to the car. I opened my door and Jen hopped into the back seat and put her seatbelt on. Jason and I got into the car at the same time. I smiled at him, I was surprised when he got out to car and came over to my side. He opened my door and held it open. "Hop out, you're driving." Jen and I both looked shocked. "You need all the practice you can get so you can get your license, so hop out and drive us home." I smiled as he helped me out the car. I walked around the front of the car and opened his door before sliding into the seat. This was gonna be interesting, I never even thought I would drive the mustang. "Just remember, this isn't like the Honda, it has more power so it can go faster. Just take it easy and slow ok?" I nodded as I started the car and started the drive home. On the way Jason kept telling me how good I was doing and how he was surprised at how easily I was handling the car.
When we got home Jen waited for Jason to get out and move the seat before she jumped out and kissed the ground. We both laughed. "Jen relax, my driving is just a little out of practice." I said as she stood back up and giggled. "Now get inside before I send Jason after you." She ran inside giggling as she looked over her shoulder to make sure Jason wasn't after her. I grabbed Jason's wrist and pulled him close. "Thanks for letting me drive the mustang, and thanks for getting your mom to do something about Mr. Sanders. That guy was always a jerk, even when I was still in that school. I am surprised Jen didn't try to claw his eyes out when she told him to apologize to us. I can say Jen is more like mom everyday." I started to kiss Jason passionately in the front yard. I smiled as his hand crept up back and around to my stomach. He lifted my shirt a little so his hand could touch my stomach without the fabric of my shirt in the way.
~~~~
Jason POV Damien pushed me away when we heard Jen scream. I looked at him and saw fear in his eyes and written on his face. I turned and ran into the house as fast as I could. I found Jen hiding in the kitchen closet; she was curled into a ball crying. I picked her up as Damien came into the room. Jen hugged my neck and continued to cry. "What happened Jen, why did you scream?" I asked as I rubbed her back.
"I…I…" The poor girl was so scared she was stuttering. "There was a man in the yard, I saw him through the window." She said in one breathe; she had started to hyperventilate. I handed her to Jason and went out to the back yard to look for the man. I searched the yard and found no one. I knew Jen would not lie about something like that; I walked back into the house and found Damien holding Jen as they got her breathing under control. Damien looked up at me and I could tell he was worried.
~~~~
Damien POV Who would want to harm me or my sister? There was a part of me that wanted to take Jen and run away; but I knew I couldn't because of Jason and because of my daughters. I knew Jason would protect us, when Jen finally calmed down we all went into the living room and sat on the couch. I watched Jen and Jason play video games as I thought about today's events.
Today was the big day; it was the last day of school and the day of Jason's graduation. It was a warm June day. Jen was wearing a purple dress and black shoes. I had on a pair of blue pants and a green t-shirt. I didn't care if anyone saw my stomach was getting big anymore. I figured people were gonna figure out sooner or later. Jen and I were sitting in the bleachers waiting for the procession to begin. Nancy was sitting next to us ready to take pictures the graduation. She wore a red dress with flowers on the hem. We all looked as we heard pomp and circumstance start to play. Nancy had the camera focused on the aisle that everyone was to walk down. I noticed Jason and smiled as he looked over at us. I waved casually and he continued to walk.
Jen stood up cheering and clapping when he received his diploma. I noticed that Lily and Aura started to kick when Jason's name was called. I rubbed my stomach soothing them. After it was over we met him on the soccer field. Jen ran over to him and jumped into his arms. I smiled when he took off his cap and put it on her. He was surprised when he saw me. He hugged me gently. "Damien, what if people see you're pregnant? I thought it was supposed to be a secret?" He whispered into my ear.
"I don't care anymore. The only thing that matters is what the four of us think." I waved my arms around me to encompass Nancy, Jen, me, and Jason. "There is nothing anyone can say anymore to upset me. I am proud to be pregnant. I am proud that I get two daughters and the fools at this school will just have to get over it." I smiled as he pulled me into his embrace and kissed me. I stood next to him as Jen hugged his leg. "Congrats Jason, you are now a high school grad. You are free."
He put his arm around my waist resting his hand over my stomach. Nancy took our picture while we were talking cause she said it was a good picture to show my daughters when they were older. Jason picked up Jen and Nancy took a picture of the three of us together. Then I grabbed the camera and made Nancy stand next to her son. Like she said, it was good to have all these pictures to show my daughters one day.
~~~~
Later that day we all went out for dinner, we went to the new pizzeria in town. When we finally went home it was nine. Jen still had school for another week, she was clearly envious of them both. They had made it so that the bus would drop her off at the house, which made it easier for both of them. They made Jen go take her bath and get ready for bed. She just huffed and walked upstairs. I sat with Jason on the couch while he rubbed my stomach. At first it was relaxing, but then it started to lead to passion. I grabbed his wrist, "Jason stop it unless you want my sister to find us making out on the couch." He nodded understandingly and I leaned against him. Jen came downstairs half an hour later with a towel wrapped around her hair. We told her should could watch TV for half an hour then it was off to bed. At 10:00 we turned off the TV and all of us went upstairs for bed. Jason and I kissed Jen goodnight before going to our room.
~~~
Jason POV
I woke from a sound sleep to the sound of screaming. At first I thought it was Jen, but then I noticed it was Damien. I turned towards him and gently shook him. "Damien, wake up love." He bolted up screaming no. I grabbed him and pulled him close to me. "Hey what happened? Why are you screaming, that is usually Jen's job." I smiled when he laughed at my slight joke.
"I am sorry I woke you Jason, I had a nightmare. It was horrible, it was about Lily and Aura. In my dream they were 12 and suffered what I went through. I could even hear the same voice of the man that hurt me. It was terrible, it was like I was there but I couldn't do anything to help them. I tried to run to them, but there was a wall blocking me from saving them." I pulled Damien closer and started to rock back and forth. He had his hands over our daughters protectively. I smiled when he fell asleep and I laid him next to me before pulling him into my embrace.
~~~
Damien POV
I woke up with the nightmare still in my mind. Luckily it didn't bother me anymore that night. But I was worried about my daughters, I didn't want them to suffer the same fate as me. I couldn't believe I was admitting it, but I was glad that man raped me cause I got Jason and my daughters. I doubt I would have met Jason if it had not been for the evil man. I lay in bed for I have no idea how long until Jason woke up saying it was time to get Jen ready for school. Today was her last day, I was surprised she had not woken already. Jason went to prepare breakfast and I went to wake Jen.
I walked into her room and almost laughed when I saw her sleeping half off the bed. I pulled her back up onto the bed before waking her. "Get up Jen, it's the last day of school. You don't want to miss it do you?" I leaned back as she sat up in bed. She jumped off the bed and ran to her closet pulling out beautiful white dress with red roses on the hem. She even grabbed her black shoes that had a tiny heal. "I will meet you downstairs Jen, and remember you better be good today. We don't need any problems on your last day of school." I closed her door and walked down to Jason who was making pancakes and eggs with sausage. I walked behind him and put my arms around him. I kissed his neck and he turned to face me. "Jen will be down in a few minutes. She is getting dressed." I sat at the table and sighed. Jen walked into the room as Jason set breakfast on the table. The bus picked Jen up at 8:45. I walked back into the house to find Jason missing. I searched the entire house and found him no where. I walked out to the garage and found him working on his precious mustang.
All I could see was his feet sticking out from under the car. I pulled the cart he was on out with my foot. He looked up at me with a smile. "Hey babe, Jen leave ok?" I just glared at him. "What, I needed to change the oil on the car. It is hard to keep this car in perfect condition." I laughed as I helped him stand. He hugged me and kissed me. He touched my face and grease from his hand got on my cheek. A look of shock appeared on his face. We both burst out laughing I put my hands over my stomach as my daughters went into a kicking frenzy.
~~~~
The day passed rather quickly Jason went out to the driveway to wait for Jen as I finished cleaning up. I had just sat in a chair when the front door opened and Jen ran in. I noticed there were red spots on her dress. "Jen what happened? And what is all over your dress?" She handed me a note, I already dreaded reading it but I opened it anyway. It was a note from Jen's teacher. It seems that Jen had gotten into a fight. I looked closer at her dress and saw that the red spots were blood. "What happened and who's blood are you wearing?"
"The other kids." She looked down at the floor knowing she would get punished. "They made me mad."
"How did they make you mad? You should know better than to get into a fight." I stood with the note still in my hand. She looked up at me with tears in her eyes.
"I couldn't help it, they were picking on you and the babies." I looked at Jason as Jen hugged me. I knew I had to punish her ever though I didn't want to. "They said that there was something wrong with you cause you were pregnant. A few kids had seen you the day you picked me up and talked to Mr. Sanders. They wouldn't stop so I hit them."
I got down to Jen's level, which I noticed was getting harder to do. "Jen I know you care about me and the babies but I can handle my own problems. I am sorry but you're gonna be punished. You know mom and dad would not allow such a thing and neither will I Jen. No TV or video games for a week. Now go in your room and get changed. I want you to stay up there thinking about what you did. Is that understood?" Jen nodded before grabbing her book bag and walking upstairs. I was surprised when she didn't slam the door. I looked at Jason when I noticed her was standing next to me. "I really doubt I will be able to do that with our daughters. I felt like shit when Jen gave me that look. How could our parents punish us huh?"
Jason put his arms around me and I leaned into him. "You did fine, and when the time comes to punish our daughters we will handle it together, I promise." He put his hand over my stomach to feel the babies move, they seemed to know what he wanted because they moved right as his hand touched my stomach. "Maybe we will get lucky enough that we will never have to punish Lily and Aura. Maybe they will be perfect little angels." We both started laughing almost immediately.
Jason went upstairs to talk to Jen as I sat down. Jen had been up in her room for about 2 hours. I was surprised that she had not made a noise since she went upstairs.
~~~
Jason POV
I walked to Jen's room and saw her door was closed. I attempted to open it and saw it was locked. I knocked on the door. I smiled when Jen yelled go away. "Jen, its Jason let me in." I smiled at her when the door opened and she stood there wearing black pants and a purple shirt. "Can I come in?" She walked back to her bed and sat on it with her back to the door. I sat next to her and pulled her against me. "Jen don't be mad at Damien. He did what he had to do."
"But I fought those kids cause they were picking on him, I was doing it for him." She said as she looked up at me.
"I know Jen, but what would your parents have done if they knew?" She looked down at her hands. "They would have punished you just like Damien did right?" She nodded. "Ok, then don't be mad at him. He only did what was right." I smiled when I heard a fine muffled by my shirt. "Good, come downstairs when you want." I hugged her one last time before getting up and walking downstairs after I closed her door. When I got downstairs I saw something so beautiful. Damien was lying on the couch rubbing his stomach while he talked to Aura and Lily.
~~~
Damien POV
"I think your Aunt Jen hates me now. I will never have to punish the two of you will I? I hope not cause I am not sure I will be able to do it. It was hard enough to punish Jen, promise to never make me go through that again." I rubbed my stomach as Lily and Aura kicked in response. "You two men everything to me. I will never let anything happen to you. Daddy and I will always protect you." I told my daughters as I continued to rub my stomach.
"We will always protect them." I jumped when Jason said that. He put his hand over my chest to keep me put. "I didn't mean to scare you. I figured you heard me coming. Don't I always protect you?" He lifted my feet and sat down putting my feet in his lap. He slid across the couch till my knees were dangling over the other side of his legs. I smiled when he put his hand on my stomach. "I swear protect all of you, that even includes Jen. The four of you are my life Damien."
I leaned forward enough to kiss him. The kiss was long and passionate. We broke away when we heard the a step creek at the top of the stairs. I looked up to see Jen walking down with her head bowed. Jason helped me sit up. "Jen come here." I patted the spot between where I was sitting and where Jason was sitting. Jen sat on the couch and leaned against Jason. "Jen don't ignore me. I did the same thing mom or dad would have done." She looked up at Jason and he nodded encouraging her to listen to me.
"I am sorry Damien, but I couldn't help it. You and the babies mean everything to me. When those kids said those things it reminded me of how Mr. Sanders treated you and I couldn't take it. People should be more accepting of things instead of calling them weird. I know there is nothing wrong with you and I told them to stop but they kept at it so I hit them." Jen said as she wrung her hands nervously.
I hugged her close. "Jen I am happy that I have you to defend me and help me but you must remember what I told you when we had the meeting with Mr. Sanders, you should not pay much attention to what other people say. All that matters is what we think. Those kids just don't understand like we do." I ruffled her hair. "I know you care about me and about your nieces but I want you to know your punishment still stands. And if I catch you watching TV or playing video games more time will be added ok?" Jen nodded and hugged me with enthusiasm but she made sure she was gentle. We spent the rest of the day in the back yard. I sat in the swing that Jason had bought. I was reading a book and Jason was playing with Jen. I looked up every time I heard Jen giggle.
Jen ran over and sat next to me in the swing. "Damien save me, he is trying to tickle me again." She said while laughing. I hugged her close and nodded at Jason as he came over. We made Jen believe she was safe until Jason got close and we both began to tickle her. "Stop. Please. No more." She said in between breaths. We were all laughing when Jason sat next to us. Jen hugged me and laid her head on my lap before falling asleep.
--Blade on the floor, Blood on her wrist, She'll never know, How much she'll be missed--
Two months have passed since Jason's graduation. I am now 6 months pregnant, my back has been hurting lately cause of the extra weight of my daughters. They have been moving a lot lately and Jason is the only one who can soothe them. I was lying on the bed I shared with Jason while I rubbed my stomach in an attempt to soothe Lily and Aura. I noticed they were moving a lot more now that I was getting closer to my due date, which was only 3 months away. I smiled when Jason walked into the room. 10 minutes earlier, he had taken Jen out to the bus stop. He sat next to me and kissed my cheek while his hand found my stomach. He laughed at the feeling of the twins moving. "They are moving already? Did you have caffeine or a tone of sugar?" I laughed and shook my head. "You must have done something."
I sat up leaning on the headboard. "I can promise you I didn't eat or drink anything to make them act like this. I would never do anything that could effect them like that." I rubbed my stomach absentmindedly. "Do you think they know their mom is a guy?"
Jason looked at me with surprise. "Damien, love, we have talked about this. I really doubt they will care. They are just grateful you are giving them a chance to live. Any other person in your position would have ended the pregnancy when they learned about it." He repositioned how he was sitting so that he was next to me leaning on the headboard. His hand found my stomach again. "These two girls really love you Damien. You have done a lot for them and they know it. They love you the same way me and Jen love you. I know you are worried, but everything will be fine. Our daughters will love you; I am very sure about that. Now calm down before we have an emergency meeting with Dr. Lynx." He rubbed my arm lovingly. "Why don't you go take a long hot bath? It will help you relax." He stood and held his hand out to me. I let him help me up and I let him help me into the tub after it filled.
Jason POV Why is Damien so worried our daughters will hate him cause he isn't a woman? I have told him many times how much the girls love him and he just shrugs; he doesn't get it. Maybe after he is done with his bath I will take him baby shopping again. Maybe that will help him relax.
45 minutes later, we drove to the mall in the Mustang. I was originally gonna drive the Honda, but Damien said he missed our Mustang rides. I wanted to say no, but I couldn't resist the look on his face. I helped him out of the car and we walked into the mall hand-in-hand. He smiled when I led him into baby-depot. We bought more dresses, a few stuffed animals, and a mobile for each crib. It was only 11:00 so we headed to the food court for an early lunch. Damien led the way while I walked behind him with the bags. I almost ran into him when he stopped short. I looked around him trying to see why he stopped.
Damien POV I hoped to god I was wrong. "Damien? What is it?" I was too scared to answer him. I looked at the man ahead of me with horror. I was looking at the man who raped me. "Damien, are you ok?" the man looked back at me with wonder and satisfaction. "Damien, talk to me." I started to back up and ran into Jason.
"So you do remember me. At first I thought there was no way it could be you, but you recognized me. I guess you really can't forget me now huh? And guessing by the hand over your stomach I left something else for you to remember me by. To tell you the truth I didn't expect that to happen, but I don't really care." He walked towards me, I knew at that moment Jason understood.
I could feel his body stiffen behind me and I heard our bags fall to the floor before he put his body in front of mine. "Leave him alone, you have nothing to do with the children in him. I am their father, Damien and I made sure you did nothing to him. Now I will kindly ask you to leave us alone. We are trying to shop in peace." Jason turned to lead me away when the man grabbed my arm. "Please let my husband go."
"How dumb do you think I am child? I had that night with your 'husband' 6 months ago and he looks about 6 months pregnant correct?" I tried to get away from him but he tightened his grip. "From the way you are both acting they are my children." I grimaced as he put his hand over my stomach. My daughters immediately stilled as if they knew they were in danger. "Are my children active or secluded like me? Do we know the gender yet?" I ducked when I saw Jason's fist coming at the guy's face.
I ran to Jason as soon as the man fell. He hugged me before shoving me behind him. I leaned against his back as I tried to calm down. I took my phone out of my pocket, dialed 911, and hit send before sliding it back into my pocket. I kept my attention on the real father of my daughters; he rubbed his cheek as he stood. "I told you to leave him alone." The man looked like he was gonna hurt Jason. "How hard is that to understand?"
"I have a right to know about my children, I created them. If not for me he would not be the way he is now, would he Jason." He smiled evilly.
"How do you know my name? Who are you?" Jason asked with anger in his voice. I noticed he was clenching his fists.
"How could you forget me Jason? We have such and interesting past. Toby really liked me." The man smiled as recognition crept across Jason's face. "It has been years since I saw you last. I heard your family broke up; so sad about your sister too, she was a sweet kid."
"I thought you were in jail for what you did Maddox. How did you get out? They said you had life without parole." I realized the father to my daughters is the man that raped and killed Jason's little sister Toby.
"They didn't let me out I escaped, quite easy when you befriend the right people. I befriended a guard." He smiled again. "One night I killed the guard and escaped. Who would have guessed I would run into your 'husband' that night?" I watched as mall security and police officers crept up behind Maddox. They grabbed him and forced him to the ground.
Jason turned to me and pulled me close. "Are you alright? Did he hurt you or the babies?" I shook my head no as I cried on his shoulder. "I'm glad you're ok." He led me to a chair and made me sit. "Who called the cops?" I pulled out my phone and closed it ending the call. "You are so smart; very, very smart." He had an officer watch me as he got our bags and a drink for me.
We left 2 hours later after the cops were done questioning us. I was quiet as Jason drove us home. When we got home, he put the bags in the hall closet and led me to our room. He had me sit in bed as he made lunch, which he later brought to me when it was done.
~~~~
Jen ran into the room with a smile on her face, Jason was chasing her. She sat next to me on the couch and giggled as I hugged her. "How was your first day back at school Jen?" she smiled when Jason sat with us.
"It was ok, but I would have rather been home with you and Jason." I looked at Jason and saw him looking aback at me. I could see the worry in his eyes. "School was boring Damien, I have more fun with you and Jason." She reached into her book-bag and pulled out a piece of paper. She handed it to me; I saw it was a drawing. "I made that today, Mrs. Johnson said to draw something we love." it was a crude drawing of the three of us. I handed it to Jason and he smiled.
"It's beautiful Jen, but why did you make me so short? I am not short." Jason said with a smile. He set the drawing on the table and started to tickle her. Jen begged and pleaded for help, I acted like I was gonna tickle her but tickled Jason instead. Jen got my cue and tickled him as well. "Hey, no fair Damien! You know I can't retaliate against you! You're supposed to be on my side you cheater!" I stopped tickling Jason when I got a weird feeling in my abdomen; it felt someone was squeezing it in a vice. I have been having muscle spasms over the past month and they always went away when I walked around.
I got up with effort and walked into the kitchen. The 'muscle spasms' didn't stop. I leaned against the counter as I called Jason into the room. He must have understood; I heard him tell Jen to go play in her room. He walked to me with concern in his eyes. "Call your mom to come watch Jen. I think there is something wrong with the babies. My abdomen keeps cramping and it won't stop!" He held me close and rocked with me as he called his mom.
Five minutes later, we were driving to the hospital where Dr. Lynx was waiting for us. "They can't be born now Jason, it's too early. This can't be happening." We pulled into the parking lot and walked into the hospital; I leaned against him the whole way. We got to the reception desk as I felt another cramp. "My name is Damien; I called a few minutes ago. Dr. Lynx is supposed to meet me here. I have no idea what is going on, I am worried about my daughters." The nurse nodded and handed me a clipboard to fill out. "Please I don't have time for this; my daughters can be in real danger." I said while I rubbed my stomach. She still insisted I fill out the paperwork.
"Listen lady, Dr. Lynx said we would be admitted when we got here. We don't have time for this ridiculous paperwork. He is seven months pregnant with twins and having abdominal cramps. Now do your job and get him a room!" Jason was almost yelling at her. He was about to when Dr. Lynx came out. "Thank god, please tell her he can go in. he's been having cramps for the past 15 minutes and all this nurse cares about is paperwork." He rubbed my back as another cramp started.
Dr. Lynx told the nurse we would handle the paperwork later and led us back to a room. They put me in a flimsy hospital gown and attached monitors to my stomach. After being there for an hour, the cramps stopped. Jason and I let out a sigh of relief. "Damien what you were feeling was false labor contractions. They are called Braxton-Hicks contractions; your body was practicing for the real event. Lily and Aura are perfectly fine. You did the right thing coming here." I told her about the meeting with my daughters' father. "I am glad he is back in police custody where he belongs. Jason I am also sorry about what happened to you so long ago." She hugged us both and left me to dress as she handled the paperwork form earlier.
Jen ran to us with tears streaming down her face when we opened the door. Jason picked her up and started to rub her back in an attempt to soothe her. "Calm down Jen, everything is fine. Me and the babies are perfectly fine; it was just false labor pains." I told Jen as I rubbed her back. I smiled at Nancy when she walked into the room. Jason continued to soothe Jen as I walked, well waddled, to Nancy. "Thanks for watching Jen Nancy; I was really worried for a minute. Was Jen ok while we were gone?"
"She was fine, just worried about her big brother and nieces. How was false labor?" she laughed as I scowled at her. "Relax I was kidding. You forget I have suffered through it before." She hugged me and patted my back. "Did Dr. Lynx tell you the difference between real and false labor?" I nodded "Good."
I smiled at Jen when she hugged my waist. "Hey kiddo, stop crying. I am fine and so is Lily and Aura." I smiled as she kissed my stomach. "Alright relax, I am gonna take a nap; I am tired all the sudden." Jason nodded along with his mom. "Jen go play with Jason, I will be ok." I told her as she frowned. She nodded before walking to Nancy and Jason. I smiled and headed to my room. As I laid on the bed, Lily and Aura went into a kicking frenzy. After lying there for 5 minutes, I felt the bed depress next to me. I opened my eyes to find Jen lying next to me. I smiled and out my arm around her.

--Blade on the floor, Blood on her wrist, She'll never know, How much she'll be missed--
Today was an interesting day; i had a meeting with Jen's teacher at 5. Her teachers knew my situation but I'm not sure if they believe it. The last time I was at her school was the meeting with Mr. Sanders. Jen stayed home with Nancy while me and Jason went to the meeting. Jason parked the car and cut the engine. He put his hand on my leg as i continued to sit there. "Damien, you ok?"
"Yeah, but the fear of her teacher's reaction has returned. It's a repeat of the Mr. Sanders moment. I don't know if I can do this." I put my hands over my stomach protectively. I looked at Jason when he put his hand over mine. "Jason what do we do? They were once my teachers too."
"We do this together. We walk in with our heads held high. We show them what your family is made of. We make them fear the day our daughters come to this school." He smiled at me when I started to laugh. "See, we'll be fine. Now come on or we will be late."
I smiled when he got to my side of the car. I got out with some effort and leaned against him. We walked into the school. I walked down memory lane as I led Jason to the classroom. I stopped when we passed a wall with pictures on it. I blushed when I saw a picture of me covered in paint. I pointed the picture out to Jason. "Can you guess who that is?" He looked at it for five minutes before shaking his head. "Surprisingly enough that is me. We were finger painting and I ended up with more paint on me then on the paper." I laughed when Jason looked between me and the picture. "You can laugh later we have to go."
I smiled at Mrs. Johnson when the looked my way. "Hello Mrs. Johnson. It has been a while since I saw you." I hugged her gently. "It has been longer since I thought of that picture in the hallway." I looked at Jason when I heard him snicker. "Mrs. Johnson this is my boyfriend Jason Thompson. I am guessing Jen has talked about him a lot."
"Yes she has, it is a pleasure to meet you Jason. Jen always talks about both of you. She also talks about her nieces often. I'm happy things are well with you Damien. How far along are you?" She asked as we walked into the classroom and she closed the door.
"I'm 7 months. You know I'm surprised at how accepting you are of my pregnancy. Most people think we are lying or freak out. You are one of the few who accept it and I thank you for that." She nodded, we spent the next half hour talking about how Jen was doing in school. Mrs. Johnson hugged me one last time before we left.
Jason P.O.V. I had just pulled the Honda into the garage and couldn't wait any longer. I opened Damien's door and helped him out before kneeling before him. I took his hand in mine as I pulled a velvet box from my pocket. I opened the box and held it in front of him. "Damien Jameson, will you marry me?" He gasped at the ring. It was a silver ring with two swans. The beaks of the swans touched forming a heart between them. I looked at him as I awaited his answer. "Damien?" When he finally said yes I released the breath I was holding. I slipped the ring on his finger before standing him and hugged him while he cried.
"Damien don't cry, it's ok." He nodded as he tried to stop crying. I rubbed his back before kissing him to silence his tears. At first he hesitated, then he kissed me back with more passion than ever. I don't know if the twins were helping fuel his passion or if it was the moment, but I wanted him right there in the garage.
I was going to get him back in the car and drive to mom's so we could have privacy, but the moment ended when Jen ran to us. I noticed mom was right behind her. I sighed with defeat as Jen hugged Damien. Mom looked at me with confusion. "Couldn't you have kept her in the house so we could slip away? We were in the moment." I whispered in her ear as she hugged me.
"Sorry hon, maybe Jen can sleep at my house tonight so you can have privacy." I nodded. "Hey Jen, I was thinking you cam sleep at my house tonight. We can have a slumber party, what do you say?" Damien nodded when Jen looked to him for permission. I looked back to mom to thank her and she nodded. "Get your things and we will go." We watched Jen run back into the house.
"Guess what mom." I looked at Damien and he smiled. "We're engaged." Damien nodded as mom looked at his hand. "That would be what we were doing when you and Jen Showed up." I smiled at Damien when he put his arm around my waist.
Damien P.O.V. I thought the moment with Jason was ruined when Jen ran out. I am guessing Jason told Nancy cause of how eager she was to take Jen I am glad me and Jason will be married soon. I laughed when Nancy hugged us both as she congratulated us. I huffed her back. "I guess I'm your son-in-law now Nancy, or should I call you mom?"
"First you have been my son-in-law since I first met you. And you can call me whatever you like. You can call me pinky for all I care." I laughed when she said that. "Seriously I'm glad the two of you are engaged. I was hoping this day would come and I am glad it has. Do you want to tell Jen before we go or wait til tomorrow morning?"
I looked at Jason for a second. "Tomorrow morning, if we tell her now she won't leave." I looked at Jen as she Walked out with her bag. She hugged me and Jason before leaving with Nancy. I hugged him to get back in our moment. He smiled and kissed me passionately again. I leaned into his kiss and sighed. "So what do I get with becoming a Thompson?" I smiled when he slid his hand down my back. I arched into him, it was like I was made for him. Even with my pregnant body I molded into him.
I smiled when he picked me up in his arms. "We better get inside. I don't want our first time as fiancees to be on the garage floor." I laughed as he carried me inside and placed me gently on the bed. "You know I think you're overdressed. But I can fix that." He pulled off my shoes and socks. "That is a little better, but the shirt has to go." I sat up and lifted my arms so he could pull my shirt off. He threw my shirt to the side; I smiled as he looked at me with lust.
I moaned when he kissed my neck and worked his way down my chest leaving a trail of kisses. I squirmed under him as he started to kiss my stomach. He laughed as he felt the babies moving. Until our moment started they were sleeping; it seems my happiness reached them. Jason kissed my stomach more as he unbuttoned my pants. I tried not to laugh as one of my daughters landed a kick to his face.
He rubbed my stomach once before removing my pants and boxers. "Jason you need to lose a few things now." I nodded towards his clothes. He smiled and started to striptease. I sat on my knees while I watched him. My hand was over my stomach trying to soothe my daughters. He crawled next to me on the bed. "Much better, so how do we have fun this time?" I gasped when he grabbed me and started to trail his fingers down me. My body was tingling with excitement the entire time. I laid on my side as he laid behind me. He lifted his leg and rested it on his own. He pushed against me to prepare me. I pulled his hair encouraging him on. With one thrust he was in me. I gasped at the feeling even though I knew it was coming. I sighed as he kissed my shoulder. He wrapped and arm around me resting his hand over my stomach.
I leaned back against him knowing everything was the way it should be. He began to thrust in and out. I was glad Nancy understood and took Jen to her house for the night. Jason relaxed after he came and we just laid there connected in an intimate way. I rubbed my stomach hoping to calm my daughters so they would sleep. The last time we had fun they fell asleep before we were done. This time they were too hyper to sleep. I sighed when Jason took over in trying to calm them.
After five minutes of me lying there not moving they calmed down. Jason pulled out of me and sat up. I watched him as he left the room. I wanted to follow him, but he told me to stay. I whimpered and leaned against the headboard. I put my hand over my stomach gently making sure not to wake Lily or Aura. Jason walked into the room a few minutes later. He picked me up and carried me into the bathroom for a long bath.

I woke to the sound of laughter. I reached across the bed for Jason. I opened my eyes when I couldn't find him. I looked at the alarm clock and found it was 10:00 AM. How could Jason let me sleep so late? I sat up and noticed I was naked under the sheets? I looked over and smiled when I saw the door was closed. I got up and quickly dressed in a pair of shorts. I ran a comb through my hair and went downstairs. Jen ran to me immediately; I hugged her gently. I smiled as she told me about her night with Nancy. I looked at Jason when she noticed the ring on my finger. "What is the ring for Damien? I never saw it before."
I led her to the couch and we sat down. I looked at Jason and Nancy and they smiled at me. "Jen, it's an engagement ring. Jason asked me to marry him after you left." Her eyes brightened as she looked between me and Jason, he nodded. "I said yes Jen." She hugged me before hugging Jason. I laughed when he hug forced Jason to the floor. She was kissing him so much I was wondering how he could breathe. "Alright Jen, let him up."
Jen obliged and sat next to me again. Jason sat on my other side; I leaned against him with a sigh. I smiled at Jen when she put her hand over my stomach. She giggled when the babies kicked at her hand. Jason stood and took Jen's things to her room as she ran behind him. Nancy came over and sat with me; she hugged me gently. "Welcome to the family Damien. I hope you will always be happy with us. And I want you to know that Jen and your daughters are under our protection. I'm glad you found Jason; he has been very happy ever since." I cried on her shoulder as she hugged me.
That was the one thing about my pregnancy I hate; my hormones were so messed up I was always crying whether I wanted to or not, it was so annoying. I tried to relax and calm myself as she rubbed my back. I smiled when she released me and handed me a tissue. I wiped away my dang tears. "Thanks Nancy, I am glad Jason asked me actually. Ii was hoping he would one day. I love Jason with my heart and soul. Ever since he found me I've loved him. Just like I told you when we first met, I have and always will love him." I rubbed my stomach affectionately.
I smiled as I heard Jen laughing with Jason. I looked up to find her running with Jason chasing her. I noticed what was gonna happen before I watched it unfold before my eyes. Jen ran around the corner tripping over an upturned part of the rug; she fell forward with a scream, I struggled off the couch as Jason caught up to her and tried to soothe her. I got to them and sighed when I couldn't kneel to rub her back.
"Calm down Jen, you're ok." I noticed she had a small cut on her knee. Jason picked her up, carried her to the kitchen, and set her on the counter. I grabbed the first aid kit as he cleaned her knee with soap and water. I dried her leg before putting on a band-aid; she smiled through her tears. "See Jen, you're perfectly fine. You need to be more careful next time." I smiled as she hugged me. She jumped off the counter and went to play with Jason in the yard.
*~*~
I sat home alone; Jen was at school and Jason went food shopping. I decided to start cleaning the house. I walked downstairs and into the kitchen for the cleaning supplies. I grabbed the vacuum and went to vacuum each room. Once I got to the nursery I noticed the cribs were gone and the room was bare. I could swear a few days ago the room was full of things for my daughters. What happened to everything? I decided to ask Jason when he got home.
I got to Jen's room and was horrified at what I saw. Clothes were thrown everywhere. Jen told us she was keeping her room clean and we believed her. It looked like a hurricane hit her room. I left the vacuum in hall and attacked her room; or attempted it til I noticed I couldn't bed down very far to pick up her things. The lowest I could reach was her bed. I sighed with defeat, til I got an idea. I went and got the broom; I used the handle to pick things off the floor.
Jason got home after I finished Jen's room. I bustled down the stairs and met him in the kitchen. He smiled til he noticed how different I looked. "What's wrong babe, you look tired. It's only 10 AM; what happened?" I leaned against him and sighed.
"Don't trust Jen if she says her room is clean. I just finished cleaning it." Jason hugged me tighter and kissed my head. It was like a hurricane hit her room; clothes everywhere and she never made her bed. I felt like kicking her butt when she got home, but now I'm not so sure about that idea." He laughed and sat me on the counter.
"Damien, why didn't you leave it for her when she got home? I would've made her clean it; it seems I am very commanding. I will make sure something is done about it, you relax." He kissed me once more before kissing and rubbing my stomach. He put the groceries away before getting me off the counter and carrying me to the living room. He sat me gently on the couch before taking my feet in hand and massaging them. I sighed contently and laid my head back on the arm of the couch.
~*~*
I woke to smell of ham and melted cheese. I opened my eyes to find Jason standing next to me with a plate in hand. "I was just about to wake you, I made you lunch." I sat up and he sat next to me handing me the plate. "How was your nap? You've been out since 10. It's now 12:30, was cleaning Jen's room that bad for you?" I shrugged. "I am guessing you reached the point in your pregnancy when everything makes you tired."
I set my plate on the coffee table and look at him. "Jason what are we gonna do about Jen lying to us about cleaning her room?" I ran a hand through my hair. "I can't handle punishing her again. The last time it almost broke my heart. I think you might be the one to punish Lily and Aura. I think the look on their faces will change my mind." I put my hand on my stomach and smiled as they moved in response to my touch. I guess Jason is right about one thing, Lily and Aura won't really care that I gave birth to them. Now I am just worried when they are old enough for school. They will most likely be picked on by other kids cause their parents are two men. I will always be there for them when that happens. I know their aunt Jen will definitely defend them.
*~*~
Jen got home at 3:30 like always. Me and Jason decided not to say anything about her room right away. I looked at Jason as Jen went to put her things in her room. I grinned as I heard Jen storming downstairs. "What happened to my room?" She asked with surprise.
"I cleaned it this morning after you left. I thought you've been cleaning it Jen." I leaned against Jason when he put his arm round me. "You lied Jen, why would you lie to us? Have we given you a reason to lie to us?" We both looked at her with wonder.
"No, but I did clean my room." I glared at her challenging her to lie again. "Ok, I cleaned it two days ago, but I've been busy."
"You haven't been busy Jen. You forget we've been around you for the past 2 days. Every time I saw you, you were playing video games. I even asked if your room was clean and you lied to me." Jason replied; he clearly looked upset. "How could you lie to s Jen? And worse yet, Damien had to clean your room. When I got home from the store he was exhausted. You should know better." Jen nodded in agreement. "You've gotten in trouble a lot recently. You will be punished again Jennifer." Jen and I both looked surprised. Jason never called Jen her full name before. Even when he first met her he called her Jen.
"No video games, no TV, no computer, and no phone for two weeks. I'm tired of you lying to us Jen. Now go to your room, I'll get you when dinners ready." Jen looked at me as if I could save her. I shook my head and looked at Jason. She got up and went to her room.
I looked at Jason and he rubbed my arm reassuringly. "I can't believe it; you are definitely punishing our daughters when the time comes. I almost cried when Jen gave me that look. You will be the enforcer; I'll make sure they follow your rules. How could you resist the look on her face?"
"Toby, she was always a trouble maker. She always made that face when she wanted something." I smiled at him for his courage and because he could tell me about Toby with out crying.
"Hey Jason, what happened to the nursery? Al; the girls things are gone. Everything was there three days ago." I looked and felt worried. I wanted everything to be perfect.
"Don't worry about it Damien, I decided to paint the room so I put everything away for now. I'll make sure everything is ready for when our daughters come home. I figured it would look better in a lilac instead of that horrendous yellow" he kissed my brow. "Now stop worrying about it and enjoy the rest of the day."
"Ok, but if the nursery doesn't get finished by the time they are born you will get the couch and the twins will share the bed with me." I laughed when he looked shocked. "Just make sure its done and everything will be fine."

The past two weeks have been hectic. Every five minutes Jen was testing my authority; she was starting to get on my nerves. I was glad when her punishment finally ended. Pretty soon I would've admitted defeat and given the moon just to shut her up. I had enough on my mind already; I was preparing for her birthday in a month, Jason still hadn't painted the nursery, and Dr. Lynx said there is a chance my daughters would be born before my due date. She said it is common with multiples for the babies to be born early, but she assured me they would be healthy either way. I sat in the living room reading a book the doctor gave me. It was about what to expect during the last few months of my pregnancy.
I looked up as I heard someone walk into the room. Jason came towards me with a smile on his face. "Why are you so happy Jason?" he didn't reply, he just kept moving closer to me. "Jason I'm not in the mood." He just laughed and continued on his path. I set my book on the coffee table. "I mean it Jason, now stop it and set it out of your mind." He walked over to me and sat next to me. He put his arms around me and kissed my cheek.
He rested his hand on my stomach. "Relax, I was not gonna make out with you. I was smiling cause you looked so serene and relaxed. I haven't seen you like that in a while. The last time you were like this was when we ran into each other at school for the first time. I am happy to see you happy again." He rubbed my stomach gently. "They are sleeping huh?" I nodded and he continued to rub my stomach. "I can't wait til the day they come home. I can't wait to hold them in my arms. I can't wait to cuddle them, I want to kiss and hug them."
"Right now you need to worry about the damn nursery!!! The babies are due in 1½ months and you still didn't finish it! I will not have my daughters come home to no where to sleep!" I jumped up forcing him to release his hold on me. I waddled to our room and slammed the door. I made sure it was locked before throwing myself onto the bed and crying.
Jason P.O.V. I watched Damien walk away. What he said really hit home. I wish I could tell him my real plan. I am converting the room that connects to ours into a nursery. Luckily he never suspected anything cause the connecting door is always locked; I am the only one with the key. The look on his face when he yelled at me broke my heart.
I walked to our bedroom and sighed when I found the door locked; I had expected it. I was about to knock on the door when I heard him crying. "Damien? Please let me in, we need to talk." I winced when he yelled go away. "Damien I'm sorry. I'm gonna have the nursery done, I promise. I would never let Lily and Aura come home to an empty room." I so wanted to tell him. I heard him stop crying. "Damien?" I listened but heard nothing, "Damien, are you ok? Please answer me." I stared at the door for a few minutes before leaning back against it. I fell back when the door opened. I was lying on the floor looking up at Damien.
I stood and looked at Damien with an awkward silence. I was surprised when Damien ran to me and cried against my chest. "I'm sorry Damien. I promise to finish the nursery. Please just stop crying." I smiled when I heard him sniffle. I rubbed his back and led him to the bed. We sat on the bed together. I heard him start to snore; I laid him gently on his side and went to the connecting nursery.
The nursery looked wonderful. I painted the room lilac with while trim. I found an old rocking chair in his parent's house; I set it in the corner by the cribs. The cribs were made of mahogany with purple sheets and blankets. Each crib had a stuffed bear with it's owners name sewn into it's chest. I set a dress in each crib; the dresses were what we planned to bring Lily and Aura home in. I ran my hands over the rails of the cribs. I looked around the room to decide if it needed anything else. I heard Damien groan and quickly left the room. I made sure I locked the door before I went to lay by his side.
~*~* It was 12:45 PM when I walked back into my room. I smiled when I saw Damien lying on his side with his hands on his stomach. I walked to his side of the bed and shook him gently. "Damien, wake up love." he groaned and rolled onto his back. I set the tray of food I was holding on his bedside table. I knew one way to wake him for sure. I leaned over him and started to kiss him; for a moment he was hesitant then his arms wrapped around my neck.
I released the kiss and pulled away. I watched Damien as he opened his eyes; he smiled at me. "Hey sleepyhead, I made you lunch." I grabbed the tray and set it across his lap. "It's kinda a peace offering for how I acted earlier; I didn't mean to upset you." I smiled wearily. "I don't want you to stay mad at me. Truthfully it breaks my heart when you're mad at me."
He smiled and crooked his finger beckoning me to come closer. I leaned towards him and he pulled my face towards his. He kissed me again; I pushed him away when he tried to kiss me a second time. "Eat your lunch, you and our daughters need nourishment. You haven't eaten since this morning. So eat then we can do anything you want." He smiled and nodded as he attacked his lunch with gusto.
Damien P.O.V. I ate my lunch as I listened to Jason talk about our daughters. I finished eating and put the tray aside. I kissed Jason to shut him up. "Alright, stop apologizing to me; I am just worried the nursery won't be done in time. Please promise me you will finish it and we will be even ok?" Jason nodded and put his hand over my stomach. He looked down at my stomach and smiled as our daughters moved. I was surprised when he started to sing. I never knew he had such a perfect voice, compared to me he was a god.
He laid next to me with his head by my stomach, he was singing to our daughters. Lily and Aura immediately calmed; probably wondering what they were hearing. To my knowledge Jason never sang to them before. It seems like they like his singing, they must've fallen asleep cause they didn't move anymore. I occasionally felt a soft kick but nothing else. Jason stopped singing and looked at me. I guess he could read my expression. "You never heard me sing did you?" I shook my head. "Well, I used to take lessons when I was younger. I decided to see if singing would make them relax, but I am guessing they fell asleep huh?" I nodded.
"Jason your voice is beautiful, why don't you sing for a living?" He shrugged. "I mean it, you could really get somewhere with a voice like that." I looked at him when he put his finger over my mouth.
"Damien, if I had followed a singing career I wouldn't have met you. I would not know Jen or have met your parents. I will not be the happy man I am now. I like my life the way it is; I wouldn't change it for the world. I would feel empty without you and our family that is awaiting two new members." He smiled at me.
"Yeah, I guess you're right, but I hope me and the babies aren't holding you back. If we are please do whatever makes you happy. I don't want you to regret anything in your life. I want you to live life to it's fullest. Don't pass something by cause your afraid it will upset me; promise me that, please." Jason nodded. "No, say it! Say you promise not to do things for me."
"Damien I promise you, I am making decisions for me. I chose a long time ago not to sing publically. One day a person tried to be my agent and I turned them down. I never regretted it and I never will. I will never regret being with you and I am happy as I am. Now please relax and don't worry." Jason looked like something was on his mind. "Damien I want to show you something, will you follow me please?"
I wonder what he wanted to show me. I slid off the bed and let him lead me to the door connecting to our room. He pulled a set of keys out of his pocket and unlocked the door; he moved aside. "Open it." I was confused, according to what he told me he uses the room for storage. He put his hand on my shoulder. "Open the door, for me. Please." I out my hand on the knob and turned it opening the door. Jason leaned in and turned on the light, he led me into the room by pushing his hand on the small of my back. I looked around the room in wonder, it was a nursery. I gasped when I saw mom's old rocking chair in the corner. I walked over to it and ran my hand over the backrest.
"This is why the nursery was cleaned out. I figured you would want Lily and Aura to be close instead of down the hall. I've been working on it ever since you moved in. in the beginning I only had one crib, but when we learned t was two girls I got a second crib; mom and Jen helped a lot. Mom made the bears for Lily and Aura. Mom and Jen put the second crib together when we ad the parent teacher conference. That was the day we switched the rooms."
I was speechless; I just turned to Jason and cried against his chest. "Jason it's beautiful, I love it. Thank you so much. Now I really feel bad for yelling at you about it. I hope you can forgive me." Jason nodded and kissed my head. We stood in the middle of the nursery rocking back and forth while I cried.
~~~
Ever since Jason showed me the nursery 3 days ago the door between the rooms has been unlocked. At some point during the day Jason found me in the rocking chair. I can't believe my little sister kept a secret for so long; Jen usually tells me everything. One day Nancy came over and I thanked her enthusiastically. She just shrugged and told me it was nothing. I was sitting in the rocking chair in the nursery when I heard Jen call me. I was about to go find her when she walked into the nursery. "Hey Jen, what's up kiddo?"
I watched her as she ran her hands over the cribs. "Well, a friend is having a sleep over and I was wondering if I could go. I know you will be worried about me, but I haven't had sleep overs with anyone but Nancy. Please Damien, can I go?" Jen looked away; I had no idea what to say. "It's next week, please Damien."
"I don't know Jen; I need to think about it. Just give me some time to think it over ok?" Jen sighed and walked away. "Jen wait." She turned and looked at me. "There is a lot to consider, I don't know the person or their parents, I don't have any idea what will happen at the party, and I am afraid I will lose you." Jen looked shocked. I already lost mom and dad; I don't want to lose you too. I don't want to lose my baby sister. You mean too much to me Jen. I am afraid something bad may happen to you." I stood and walked to her. "You're my little sister, even though you defend me, it's my job to take care of you. You're all I have left and I don't want to lose you."
"Damien, I'm not going anywhere. I don't plan on going anywhere. You've taught me a lot; I know many ways to protect myself. I would never let anyone hurt me, I promise." She hugged me gently and I wrapped my arms around her. "Please, just trust me." I was surprised at how much she had matured since mom and dad died.
"Jen, I haven't taught you enough; we thought I did, but we were wrong." I subconsciously put my hands over my stomach in a protective manner. "There is so much I need to teach you still. Please just let me learn a little about what will happen first ok?" Jen nodded and walked out of the room. I sat back in the rocking chair and rubbed my stomach. "What am I gonna do, huh girls? You aunt Jen has no idea what the world is really like. That is partially my fault cause we shield her from things. I wish I could tell her what really happened with my and both of you. I so wish we had told her what really happened to me, the only good thing from that night was you and daddy."
Jen P.O.V.
I wonder why Damien seems so sad. He is so upset, and what does he mean he still has more to teach me? I know how to defend myself, he always taught me self defense since I was 4. I always remember what he taught me. Maybe if I can prove to him I can defend myself he will let me go to Claire's sleep over. Maybe later I will practice my self defense with Jason so I can prove what I can do. I grabbed teddy and hugged him while I cried.
Jason P.O.V.
I sat on my bed listening to Damien talk to our daughters. I wonder what he will do about Jen and the sleep over. I wonder if he will ever tell Jen about Lily and Aura's real father. I don't want Jen to know about Maddox, but maybe if she does she will understand why Damien is being so protective.
I scooted off the bed and walked into the nursery. Damien was standing between the cribs. I walked behind him and put his arms around him. He put his hands over mine and leaned against me. I kissed his head. "I heard your conversation with our daughters. It might be better if we tell Jen about Maddox, maybe she will understand. And maybe we can get mom to be a chaperone at the sleep over so that we are sure Jen will be safe." He turned in my grasp and kissed me.
"Do you really think your mom will chaperone the sleep over for us? Do you really think telling Jen about Maddox is a good thing?" my hands raced to my stomach. "OW!" Jason looked concerned. "We're ok. When I mentioned their father I got a strong kick from both of them. I think they know what happened. I can understand if they have a strong hatred to the name of their father. Jason I am glad you decided to claim them as your own so they would have a real father."
"I am proud to be their step-dad. I can't wait to see them. It will prove that everything was worth while." I heard a gasp and turned around. Jen was standing in the doorway. "Jen what is it? What is wrong?" She didn't answer. I let go of Damien and walked towards her. "Jen are you ok?"
Jen shook her head. "Step-dad? Who I Maddox?" Shit! She heard me and Damien talking; she looked confused. "What are you two talking about? I thought Jason was Lily and Aura's father. What is going on?"
I put my hands on Jen's shoulders and kneeled so I was at her height. "Jen we need to talk ok?" she nodded. We looked at Damien when he sat on the rocker with his hands over our daughters. "Damien, if you want I can talk to her about it in the other room." He shook his head and urged me to tell Jen. I let out a deep sigh. "Jen I am not Lily and Aura's father. I found your brother a while ago." I told her what happened but spared her the gory details. "Do you have any questions Jen?" she shook her head. I looked at Damien and saw him rubbing his stomach vigorously. "Damien are you ok?"
Damien P.O.V.
My daughters were moving with enthusiasm as Jason explained everything to Jen. "I'm fine. Lily and Aura just seem to move when anything about their father is mentioned. I don't know if it's out of fear or what, but they always go into a frenzy when he is mentioned." Jason and Jen walked over to me. Jen started to sing the lullaby mom sang to us. I sang along with her; after a few seconds Jason recognized the lullaby and sang along with us. The entire time I was rubbing m stomach while I rocked back and forth in the chair.
I shushed them when Lily and Aura stopped moving. "Jen I am sorry we never told you, but mom and dad wanted to keep you safe. They were afraid the truth would make things worse for you. I hope you're not mad at us. I am worried about you and the sleep over I don't want what happened to me to happen to you." Jen nodded. "I want you to have friends and I want you to have fun. I will see what I can do about the sleep over ok? But for now I need to think about it for a while." Jen nodded again and hugged me.
Jen walked out of the room with her head held high. Jason looked at me with compassion. "How are you feeling? Really? Did the story upset you? And before you say no you must remember what Dr. Lynx told me about the mother and child connection during pregnancy." He rubbed my shoulders.
Truthfully I feel nervous and my emotions probably influenced Lily and Aura's kicking frenzy. Even though I know he can't get to me I am still scared. Is there anyway to make me not scared?" He shook his head. "I will be fine, really, at least in a few minutes. I am still afraid he will come back and hurt me again. I am afraid he will do something to Lily and Aura." I burst out crying. Jason pulled me close and rubbed my back while he tried to soothe me.
I woke at 6 AM. I got out of bed and quietly walked out of the room making sure not to wake Jason. If he woke he would make me go back to sleep cause it was too early. I crept downstairs and towards the closet. In closet was a box wrapped in purple wrapping paper with a black bow on top. I had hidden it on the top shelf of the closet.
I crept back upstairs and set the box on the floor outside Jen's room. I was headed back downstairs when I ran into Jason. I gasped as he put his arms around me. "It figures I would find you here." He whispered in my ear. I was about to answer when he put a finger over my lips. We walked downstairs together; I headed to the kitchen to make Jen's birthday breakfast. I was making bacon when Jason came behind me and put his arms around my waist. "I thought I was the cook in this house. What changed, have you been taking lessons behind my back?"
I laughed quietly. "No, it has been a tradition I made when Jen was born. For a while I had someone help me cook her breakfast, but after a few years I did it on my own with supervision. I have always made Jen her birthday breakfast, before Jen could eat solid foods I made it for mom on Jen's birthday; still the same idea you know? But now she expects it every year, so I keep doing it. And I plan to do it with Lily and Aura too." Every year for Jen I made bacon and eggs with heart shaped pancakes.
"Wow, you really go all out for birthdays huh?" I nodded. "I might have to keep my birthday a secret then, we don't want you to do something that can harm our daughters once they are born. I don't need them in the kitchen with you as hot grease splatters everywhere." I laughed at his idea.
"I am not that bad a cook, now sit down and relax or go back to bed; I'm busy." I turned back to the stove. I was surprised when Jason grabbed another pan and helped me. "Jason you don't have to help me. I have done it on my own for the past 5 years."
"I want to help you. I thought we are supposed to do things together right?" I smiled at him and nodded. "Just tell me what to do and I will do it." Jason and I had just set breakfast on the table when I heard Jen squeal. "She's awake?" I smiled and laughed.
Jen ran downstairs holding the un-open present in her hands. She hugged me with enthusiasm before hugging Jason. "What you got Jen?" she shrugged. "I wonder where that box came from. You better open it to see what's in it." Jen set the box on the table and ripped at the paper. She gasped when she saw what was inside. I bought her a new pair of shoes and an outfit that matched. The shoes were black heels with roses on the side. Her outfit was black with purples roses on a vine that went from the shoulder to the hip. The same design was on the skirt. She hugged us again. "Alright, eat your breakfast. I made it so you better eat it."
~~~~
At 12:30 there was a knock on the door. I went to answer the door while Jason played with Jen. I opened the door and found Nancy, I hugged her. "Hey Nancy, how ya feeling?" She shrugged. "Listen, before I take you to Jen I have a favor to ask. This Friday a friend of Jen is having a sleep over and Jen wants to go. I was wondering if you could chaperone it for me. I know nothing about the girl or her parents but Jen wants to go. I called the mother and explained things, she said I can have someone there with Jen to make sure she's safe. I figured it would be better to send you cause it is all girls there, you know?"
Nancy nodded. "I would be happy to go with her. Where is the birthday girl anyway? I have something for her." I led her to Jason and Jen. "Happy birthday Jen. I have something for you." She reached into her purse and pulled out a small box. "I hope you like it." Jen opened it with gusto. It was a silver necklace with a rose pendant.
"Oh Nancy, I love it, thank you so much." Jen said as she put it on. I smiled at her when she showed it to me. I looked at Jason when he cleared his throat. He held a bag in his extended hand. Jen ran to him and grabbed it. Inside the bag was a snow globe with a glass bear inside. "Jason it's beautiful, you didn't have to get it for me." She hugged him with such enthusiasm they both fell to the floor in a fit of laughter. I couldn't wait til he played with my daughters like that. I put my hands over my stomach and smiled as my babies kicked.
~~~~
Later that night I sat in shorts in the rocker in the nursery. It had become my nightly routine ever since Jason showed me the nursery. I asked Jen to meet me here after her shower. As I waited for her I started a conversation with my daughters. "Well girls, just a month and 1 week to go before you are born. Soon you will be living in this room instead of in me. Soon I will get to see the faces of 2 girls who have made my life better. You're aunt Jen can't wait to meet you, none of us can. You 2 mean so much to me even though your father is an asshole. I have loved both of you ever since I first felt you move, actually it was before that, I fell in love with you when I was 2 months pregnant and I heard your hearts beating.
You know I would do anything for you 2.in the beginning when I learned I was pregnant I was scared. I wasn't even sure if I wanted you, but I heard your hearts and knew it was worth it. Daddy was always there for me when I needed him the most. He encouraged me to keep going when I felt lost." I wiped a tear from my eye. "Daddy made my pregnancy a happy time even though your creation wasn't." I looked at the door as my bedroom door squeaked open. I heard Jen calling me. "In here kiddo."
I quickly wiped away my tears before she got into the room. I smiled and urged her to sit down. She sat on the foot stool for the rocker. "Jen I have been thinking about the sleepover this Friday and came to a decision. You can go, I talked to your friend's mom, and she said someone can go with you to make sure nothing happens to you. Now, before you overreact I'm not going and neither is Jason. Nancy is taking you."
Jen hugged me while she laughed. "Thank you so much Damien!"
I laughed as Lily and Aura responded to what was going on. "Good job Jen, I just got them to sleep, but you're welcome. Now go to bed so I can too."
~~~~
Jason ran into the living room, his face drowned in excitement. He stopped in front of me. "Damien you'll never believe what just happened." I shrugged. "I got a job! Tomorrow I start working as a cashier in 'Grocers R us'. I have a job." I was confused, why is getting a job so exciting? "I can finally earn my own money. And before you ask the money we have now is because of my grandfather. When he died he left me and mom a large sum of cash. I am normal now!" I laughed. "What? I'm normal."
"Sure, you have a fiancée who is a pregnant male. That is totally normal." I laughed again. "Jason our family is no where near normal, it never has been and never will be." He put his arms around me and smiled. "What are you thinking about?"
"Well first I am wondering what it will be like to spend most of the day without you around. Second I will miss feeling our daughters move when I hug you." He kissed my cheek. "Maybe applying for a job was a bad thing, maybe I should just quit before I start." He walked away from me.
I waddled to him and leaned against his back. "Jason don't quit a job you never even started. If you are afraid that leaving me alone is a bad idea then you can have your mom check up on me, but please don't quit something before you try it. I will be fine while you're at work, please try it." I put my hand over Jason's forcing it to my stomach. "For us."
"That so isn't fair Damien, you know I would do anything for you and our daughters." He sighed. "Fine, but if anything happens you better call me got it?" I nodded and hugged him. He smiled when Lily and Aura kicked to get his attention. He kneeled in front of me so his head was at the same height as my stomach. He kissed it gently. "Your mommy is so unfair, I would do anything for all of you. I love you Lily and Aura, just like I love your mommy." he kissed my stomach once more before standing to his full height. "You're really hard to say no to you know that. It's like saying no to a baby when it wants attention. And it makes it even harder cause I hate seeing you upset."
I kissed him passionately and sighed when he pulled away. "Why did you stop?" he pushed me away and walked away from me. "Jason did I do something wrong?" he kept walking. "Jason!" I fell to my knees and cried. Lily and Aura kicked as if asking what was wrong. "I think I upset daddy." I rubbed my stomach while I cried.
Jason POV
I could hear Damien crying as I walked away. I felt bad for doing it but there is just something I have to do and I don't want him to know about it. I got in the mustang and drove towards the jail; I was going to confront Maddox. I walked into the jail with my head held high. I got my friend Darrin to get me a meeting with Maddox. I walked into the conference room where Maddox was sitting. "Hello Maddox how've they been treating you?"
I sat across from Maddox, his wrists were cuffed to the table. "Why are you here Jason? I thought you hated me." He smirked at me. "So I repeat; why are you here?"
I resisted the urge to punch him. "I came to talk, I want to know why you killed Toby. And better yet, why did you hurt Damien right by my house? What were you thinking? Where you trying to break my heart again? Were you trying to bring back bad memories for me? How could you kill an innocent little girl who trusted you? I must thank you though; if not for you I wouldn't have met Damien. I met him the night you hurt him. I saved him, because of you I will be a father in a month. It is hard to believe that you ruined my life, but repaired it as well."
"Oh I am so happy, so do I get to know the gender of my child? Do I get to know anything about what your 'husband' and I created?" I shook my head. "Well I'm afraid I can't answer any of your questions then." He smiled and sat back in his chair.
"Sorry Maddox, but you know I can't tell you anything. I wouldn't tell you anything that can harm my children. They are very important to me; just like Damien is. I would never endanger them like that. All I can tell you is it's twins." I got up and left the room. Now it was time to go home and beg for Damien's forgiveness.
Damien POV
I watched Jason pull away in the mustang. I can't believe he left me without telling me what I did wrong. I went to our room, put on a shirt and shoes, and grabbed the keys to the Honda. I sat in the Honda for 5 minutes crying before starting it and driving to Nancy's. Lily and Aura were kicking the entire time on my way there; my feeling were probably effecting them. Every few minutes I had to wipe the tears from my eyes.
I parked in the driveway and leaned against the steering wheel as I continued to cry. I got out and walked to the door; I didn't even knock, I just walked in. I found Nancy in the kitchen. "Nancy." She looked horrified when she saw me. "Jason hates me." She hugged me as I cried on her shoulder. "Jason and I were in the nursery talking. We were talking about him getting a job. I kissed him and he pushed me away. He didn't say anything, he just got in the car and left. Did I do something wrong?"
She led me into the living room and helped me sit on the couch. She handed me a box of tissues. "You didn't do anything wrong Damien. My son is just being an asshole." I looked at her shocked, I had never heard Nancy curse before. "What I'm mad." She stood and helped me up. "Come on, you're gonna rest in the guest room. And before you say anything I am ordering you to rest." She led me to the guest room and helped me onto the bed. She left the room and I fell asleep crying.
Jason POV
On my way home I stopped at the store to buy Damien roses. They were his favorite flower. I pulled the mustang into the driveway, walked into the house, and went to the nursery. Damien wasn't there or anywhere in the house. I walked to the garage and saw the Honda was gone. I reached into my pocket as my phone rang. "Listen mom I don't have time to talk, Damien is missing and the Honda is gone. What do you mean he is there? When did he get there? I'm coming over." I started back towards the mustang. "What do you mean I can't see him? Please I need to explain things to him. Hello?" I looked at my phone. "She hung up on me." I dialed Damien's number and sighed when no one answered. I sat on the couch, put my face in my hands, and cried.
Nancy POV
I looked into the guest room and saw Damien rubbing his stomach while he slept. I had just gotten off the phone with my idiot son. I wanted to kill him for what he did. I know he has a right to explain, but Damien only fell asleep 5 minutes before I called him. The kid was a mess when he found me in the kitchen. I knew I would yell at Jason for this later, but for now I was getting Damien to relax before the stress caused premature labor.
~~~~
I looked up as I heard the mustang. Jason stormed into the living room; his face was bright red. "Where is my fiancée? I want to see him now!" he looked at me like he was gonna attack at will.
"Jason Andrew Thompson don't take that tone with me! And keep it down, he's sleeping upstairs. When he got here he was crying so much I thought he might go into premature labor. Let him sleep a little longer, then you can talk to him. For now you can explain to me what upset him like that." I listened as he explained why he left. We both looked up as Damien walked into the room.
Damien POV
I saw Jason sitting in the chair across from his mother. I wanted to run to him, but I am still mad. I walked to the couch and sat next to Nancy. Jason watched me the entire time. "Damien please let me explain before you decide to hate me for life." I looked to Nancy and she shrugged. I nodded to Jason. He deserved that much. "Damien I am not mad at you, I just didn't want you to know what was doing. I went to see Maddox. I needed closure." I listened as he told me what happened. "I just had to finish things, please forgive me Damien." He looked at me nervously.
I stood and walked to him and sat on his lap before he could stand. I kissed his cheek gently as Lily and Aura moved between us. "I forgive you, but you could've told me what you were doing, I would've understood." I smiled when he put his hand over my stomach. "You better apologize to them too, they were just as upset as I was."
I smiled when he stood up cradling me to his chest. "Mom can you pick up Jen and take her out for ice cream?" Nancy nodded and grabbed her keys, we watched her leave. Jason looked down at me and smiled. "Now how about we have some fun?" I smiled as he carried me to a room with blue wallpaper. "Good thing she didn't empty out my old room." I laughed as he laid me on his bed. He turned around to turn on the stereo.
When he turned back I was naked. "I think you're overdressed Jason. How does that keep happening?" I bent my finger silently telling him to come to me. He sat next to me on his bed as I started to pull his shirt over his head. I kissed his chest as he rubbed my stomach. "You do know that you still need to apologize to them right?"
He pushed me onto my back and trailed his fingers over the taut skin of my stomach. "I'm sorry girls, I was being stupid. I shouldn't upset you or your mommy. Can you forgive me?" I laughed when they kicked. "Good." Jason sat still as I unbuttoned his pants. I smiled when I saw little Jason peeking over the top of his boxers.
"A little eager are we?" Jason laughed whole heartedly. I pulled his pants down the rest of the way. I smiled when he kissed my stomach. "Enough foreplay, just do me!" He crawled up behind me and laid on his back, he wanted me to straddle him. I was on my knees above him. "Are you sure about this? I'm not as light as I was 3 months ago." He nodded and I impaled myself. He groaned when I put my full weight on his hips. "Am I too heavy?" he shook his head. "I'm not sure about this."
I started to take my weight off of him and he put his hands on my hips holding me down. "Will you stop, you're not too heavy. I groaned cause it felt good." I smiled and he released my hips. I began to ride him as he ground against me. He moaned when he came inside me. I was surprised when I came as well a few minutes later. I figured that since I was pregnant little Damien had gone on vacation. We both laughed with surprise at what was covering his stomach. "And you said I was eager."
'Don't blame me, blame Lily and Aura, Catherine said my hormones are going crazy." I bounced on his hips as he laughed. "Alright enough bouncing, I am trying to calm them not make them more hyper." I said as I rubbed my stomach. I got off him and laid on my back next to him. I was surprised when he straddled my hips. "Jason what are you doing? I doubt we can have fun with me in this position, Lily and Aura kinda get in the way." He just shushed me and leaned over me. He kissed my stomach as he sang. "You're really something you know." He smiled at me and went back to calming our daughters.
~~~~
I watched Jen as she hopped into Nancy's car. They were heading to the sleepover. Jen waved before the car pulled out of sight. I closed the door and walked to the kitchen. Jason was making popcorn over the stove. I smiled when he looked at me. "Go prepare the movie, I'll be there in a minute." I turned and walked to the living room. The DVD was sitting on the table, Jason had rented a horror movie. He rented Stephens kings IT I smiled and put the movie in the DVD player. Jason walked in right as the movie was about to start.
He sat on the couch, I laid on the couch and put my head on his lap. I smiled when he put his hand over my stomach. The movie started and I watched with wonder. I gasped when the evil clown killed the little girl. "Jason please turn it off! I can't watch this, please turn it off." I covered my eyes and started to cry. Jason attempted to soothe me as he turned off the DVD. He stood up and put in a different movie. I sighed with relief when Labyrinth came on. I relaxed more as the movie progressed.
~~~~
I woke when the sky lit up as lightning flashed. Thunder followed it a few seconds later. My head was still in Jason's lap; I could hear him snoring. I sat up and shook his shoulder gently. "Jason wake up." He pretty much jumped off the couch when he finally woke. "Jason relax, you almost knocked me off the couch." He looked around the room in confusion. "It's 2 AM, I got woken by the storm." He looked out the window as the sky lit up again. "Sorry to wake you, but I don't like thunder storms very much.
He kissed me. "I understand; Toby was the same way." I smiled when he hugged me gently. "Why don't we go to our room? At least in our room you'll be comfortable, I am surprised you were able to sleep on the couch." We got up and walked to our room. I stopped when the thunder got so loud it shook the house. Jason hugged me until I relaxed and we continued on our journey.
I sat on the bed with a sigh. "The only reason I could sleep on the couch was because you were there." I looked outside as the sky lit up again. "I hope Jen's ok, storms never really bothered her she just got bad nightmares." Jason laid next to me and held me close as the storm continued.
I had reached the 8th month of my pregnancy. Recently lily and aura have started to relax more. They are not as active since their cocoon got smaller. I was starting to fear their birth. I know it has to happen but I feel better with them inside me where I know they are safe. I looked at Jason when he walked into the room. "Hey babe, how you feeling?"
"I'm ok, the girls are sleeping again. Occasionally I can see their little feet pushing against my skin. It looks so cool, when I put my hand over their feet they go away. I cannot believe how far we have come." I rubbed my stomach affectionately.
"Really? I cannot wait to hold them in my arms. You're so lucky; you can always feel them moving around. I can only feel them when we make out or I hold you." I smiled when he put his hand over my stomach. "What reaction do they have to me?" he smiled when they kicked. "It must be hell when I'm around huh?" I shook my head. "Liar, you just moaned."
"I didn't moan cause of them. I moaned cause you moving your hand over my stomach felt good." I watched Jason as he smiled evilly. "No Jason. No sex from now on til they're born. It's becoming too risky. You should really read those pregnancy books. Sex can cause labor and I want to give them as much time as I can. This pregnancy is risky enough already so keep your libido in check or you'll be sleeping in the guest room til they're born."
Jason sighed with defeat. "Yeah I guess you're right as always. But what am I supposed to do? You look so sexy lately." I just stood up and walked to our room. I sat on our bed and sighed. It was only noon and my back was killing me and my feet were numb. Jason walked in and leaned against the door frame. "Does your back hurt again?" I nodded as I rotated my feet. "Feet too?" I nodded again.
He walked into the room and sat by my feet. He began to rub them gently; I moaned at the sensation. "That feels great." He just smiled and continued. After rubbing my feet for an hour he had me sit up and lean forward as far as my stomach would allow. He began to massage my back and shoulders. "Jason when did you learn to do things like this?"
"I never did, it's a natural talent. I have always done it. I used to do it for mom whenever her back hurt." He continued to massage my back as I fell into a heaven like state. I didn't even notice he stopped til he called my name. "Damien are you ok?"
"Yeah I just haven't felt this good in a long time. You should seriously be a massage therapist." I sighed with content and leaned back against him. "Lily and aura liked it too; they fell asleep 10 minutes into the foot massage." He laughed silently and rubbed my stomach. "You about your power didn't you?"
I heard him laugh again before he pushed me gently forward. I grabbed his wrist to prevent him from leaving. "Relax I'm not going anywhere, I'm just getting Jen; her bus will be here any minute." He kissed my head before leaving. I smiled and leaned back against the headboard. I sat there for a few minutes before heading towards the kitchen. I suddenly had the craving for cherry flavored ice cream.
I had just gotten to the fridge when Jen charged into the room. I turned and smiled at her; she skidded to a stop in front of me holding out a paper. I took the paper as Jason walked in. It was a math test; she got 100%. "This is great Jen." She giggled when Jason picked her up. "I think this calls for a celebration." I put the test on the fridge with a magnet. I turned back to Jen and Jason. "So how do we celebrate?"
"Go out to dinner with the entire family then maybe the movies?" Jen asked with a smile. I looked at Jason and he shrugged. "Let me call Nancy first to see if she can come before I agree to anything." Jen nodded as I pulled out my phone. I asked Nancy and she said she would be over in 10 minutes. "Ok Jen go get changed, we leave in 20 minutes." I sighed as I watched her go. Jason put his hand on my shoulder and looked into my eyes. "I don't want to go to the movies. I've been feeling claustrophobic lately and the cramped seats won't help any." I leaned into him when he hugged me.
"It's ok Damien, we'll work something out. Maybe Jen will agree to renting a movie for all of us to watch here." I just sighed with defeat. "Damien Jen will understand if we explain it to her. I will ask her if you want." I shook my head. "Damien listen to reason, I really doubt those chairs will help your back any. At least if we are here you can lie down if you need to. Please honey, I hate to see you uncomfortable if I can help it." I shook my head again. "Dammit Damien, just agree with me you won't win."
I pushed him away and went t our room locking the door behind me. I walked into the adjoining nursery and sat in the rocker while I cried. "Mom I need you. Why is it I can only admit I need you when you can't help me anymore?" I cried harder at the memory f my mother. I went to the cribs and grabbed the bears Nancy made. I hugged them close to my chest and sat on the floor between the cribs. "Mom I really need your help." I looked up when someone knocked on the bedroom door. "GO AWAY!" I yelled not caring who was there.
"Damien it's me, please let me in." it was Jen. I got up with effort and let her in. I locked the door again behind her. I walked back to the nursery and put the bears down in the cribs. "Damien are you ok?" I nodded. "Damien you're lying. I've known you my whole life, I think by now I can tell when you're lying. Now tell me what happened." I sat on the floor and she sat next to me. She put her head on my shoulder. "Please Damien."
I sighed. "Jen you won't understand. Things aren't as simple as you think."
"You always say I am smart. You and Jason always say I am smarter than most kids my age so try me. If I don't understand I will never ask you to tell me again, but if I do understand than you have to trust me more." I sighed, everyday I notice more, and more how much she acts like mom.
"Fine, me and Jason got into a fight. We…I guess he is worried about me now that I am closer to my due date, but I should be able to control my life. If I want to do something I will and he won't stop me." I looked at Jen and saw she was nodding.
"So you're afraid he is controlling you; taking away your freedom. I think you both want what's best for you but have different views on what is best. Jason thinks about what is best for you and the twins; you think about what is best for the twins. You have to find hallow ground where you can both agree on something, if you don't the two of you will fight even more once the twins are born."
"…" I tried to reply but was shocked, Jen was right. I never knew she was so insightful. "Jen, wow. Why do you have to be so smart, I'm supposed to give you advice not the other way around." I rubbed my stomach as Lily and Aura moved. "Is there a chance you can inspire your nieces to relax?" she laughed and I started to tickle her.
~~~~
Jason POV
Jen went to talk to Damien 15 minutes ago. I heard the doorbell and forgot mom was coming over. I cursed under my breath as I opened the door. "Hey mom." I hoped she wouldn't notice my temper showing. "Come on in." I closed the door and walked back to the living room. I sat on the couch with a sigh.
She noticed I was acting weird. "Where is Jen and Damien?" I pointed down the hall towards my room. "Aren't they ready yet?" I nodded. "Then what…you upset him again didn't you." I nodded, watched mom stand, and walk towards my room.
Damien POV
Jen and I looked up when someone knocked on the door. Jen stood and went to see who it was. I sat in my place on the floor as I waited for her to come back. I looked up when Nancy said my name. I smiled at her and she sat with me and Jen on the floor. I laughed when she hugged me. "Hey Nancy, it seems we have a change in plans."
"I noticed, how ya feeling?" I shrugged. "You're not sure?" I shrugged again. "So what is our new plan?" I was about to tell her when Jen started to tickle her. "Alright shorty, you're gonna get it." I laughed as they had a tickle fight.
I stood and walked over to the cribs. I could envision my daughters sleeping in the little beds. I couldn't wait to watch them grow into beautiful young women, I just hope they turn out like Jen. I jumped when someone put their arms around me. I thought it was Jen a chin rested on my shoulder. "Go away Jason, I'm mad at you, and how did you get in here anyway?"
He held up a key ring. "I have a key." I turned around and punched his chest. He stepped back with a hand over where I hit him. "Dammit Damien what was that for?" I walked to him and grabbed the keys. I walked over to the window and threw the keys out. "Damien! What got into you?"
"My brain, now get out!" I pointed to the door, Jen stood beside me with shock written on her face. "You might want to find your key before someone else does and drives off with the mustang." I slammed the door behind him and started to cry. Jen and Nancy were immediately at my side trying to comfort me.
"Damien if you want I can go beat him up." I laughed at Jen's idea. I sat in the rocking chair and cried more. Jen and Nancy took turns guarding the door.
~~~~
I must've fallen asleep in the rocking chair. When I opened my eyes I saw Jen and Nancy sleeping on the bed and Jason no where to be found. I got up and walked towards the kitchen. The clock in the hallway ran 7 times. I had slept for over 12 hours! I couldn't believe it was 7 o'clock Saturday morning. I got into the living room and saw Jason sleeping on the couch. I continued on my journey when my stomach growled. I felt Lily and Aura stretching inside me.
I rubbed my stomach gently. "Good morning little ones." I smiled when they kicked. "Why did you let me sleep so long? Usually you don't let me sleep. Why did you let me sleep last night?" I reached into the cabinet, grabbed a bowl, and the cereal. I went to the table to eat. I looked up when I heard someone; Jason walked into the room. "Hey." I looked down at my food. "Listen, I'm sorry about last night." I heard him sigh. "Did you find your keys?"
"Yeah, you have a strong arm, they were by the mailbox." I looked at him with surprise. "I hope the girls inherit your strength. If they do they will be perfect at baseball." I laughed and he smiled at me. "Listen Damien, I was kinda controlling yesterday and that was wrong. I don't want us to be mad at each other forever. I don't like when we fight, I am afraid that one day we will fight and the stress will cause you to go into labor. I don't want that to happen, please forgive me Damien."
I nodded and hugged him; the moment was interrupted when my daughters kicked Jason's stomach. "You know Jason; I think they might attack you before they are even born. It seems all they do is attack you." Jason just laughed and kneeled before me. "What're you doing?"
He kissed each side of my stomach before rubbing at the feet that became visible. "I love you." I leaned against the counter; he kissed my stomach again before standing and kissing me. "Damien how about we go out for lunch later; that should give everyone enough time to shower and change. I'm gonna go run a bath for you." He left and a few seconds later I heard water running in the bathroom.
Jen POV
I rubbed my eyes as I stretched. I looked around and noticed Damien was gone, I got off the bed and walked towards the kitchen. I found Damien putting his bowl in the dishwasher. I walked to him and hugged him gently. "Hey kiddo how you feeling?" I shrugged. "How can you not know? You're smart, you're supposed to know." I smiled and he ruffled my hair. "Good morning brat."
"Hey I'm not a brat, I'm never a brat. Are you ok?" I hugged Damien again careful of my nieces. "Damien why don't they move much anymore?"
"They still move around, but now they have gotten so big that they can't move around like they used to. Now they can only spin around and push against my stomach." I nodded. "So what do you want for breakfast?"
"A meat and cheese omelet. Can you make it for me Damien?" I looked at him with puppy dog eyes. "Please?"
"I'll make it Jen, Damien has a hot bath waiting for him upstairs." I glared at Jason. "Hey be nice brat." I watched as he kissed Damien and pushed him in the direction of the stairs. I waited til Damien was gone before punching Jason with all my strength; I ended up landing a blow to his stomach. He bent over and groaned. "Jen what was that for?"
He was on his knees holding his stomach. "You're always upsetting Damien, no one upsets my brother." I turned to walk away, he reached for me, and I ran.
Damien POV
I had just gotten into the tub when the door flew open. Jen ran to the side of the tub and put her arms round my neck. At the moment it hadn't yet registered that I was naked. "Jen what is going on?" I looked at Jason when he walked in with a hand over his stomach. "What happened?"
"She punched me! She punched me then yelled at me for upsetting you." Jason stood at the door with his hand still over his stomach.
I pushed Jen away and looked at her, she was crying. "Jen did you really punch him?" she just looked at me. I looked over her at Jason who was inspecting his stomach which was starting to bruise. "Jen look what you did!" I forced her to look at Jason. "Jen that was wrong! Go to your room, we'll talk when I'm done with my bath." She started to protest. "I mean it Jen, NOW GO!" She walked out of the room mumbling under her breath. "Jason, are you ok?"
He came in and sat on the edge of the tub. "I'll be fine. Who taught her to punch like that?" I raised my hand slowly. "Well that hurt, what did she use to practice on a piece of wood?" I laughed and told him about how I taught her. "Well I must admit you did good. Now if only she used it for defense and not on me." He looked at the bruise on his stomach.
I hugged him. "I'm sorry honey, but she will get punished for it." I rubbed my own stomach. "Can you help me out of this tub, the water is getting kinda cold and the twins hate it." Jason put his arms round me and helped me up. He moaned when my stomach pressed against his and I backed away. "Oh honey I'm sorry." He just shook his head. I walked to him and put my hand on his shoulder. "You sure you're ok honey?"
He smiled. "I'll be fine, just promise me you will teach Lily and Aura to fight like that ok?" I nodded and we walked to our room.
~~~~
I walked into Jen's room and sat next to her on the bed. She turned her back to me. "Jen look at me." She refused. "Jennifer Rose look at me now!" she looked at me with tear trails down her face. "Why did you hit Jason?" she cried and hugged me, I pushed her back, and forced her to look at me. "Answer me Jennifer; why did you hit Jason?" she didn't say anything. "Answer me or I will make your punishment so severe you will never want to disobey us again."
"He hurt you!" She hugged me again; why does she have to make punishing her so hard? "I don't like when people hurt you. When people hurt you they hurt the babies too. The babies can't defend themselves. You always say the babies need help, so I'm helping them." She cried as she continued to hug me. She literally was drenching my shirt in her tears.
"I don't care! I can defend myself and I can definitely defend my daughters. I don't need a little girl to fight my battles for me. Now, you will apologize to Jason. After that you will come back in here and be punished for two months. No TV, no computer, no phone, and no going out. You will only be allowed to leave this room for school, the bathroom and when it's time to eat. Do you understand me?" Jen looked surprised. "Now go apologize, I'll be waiting here for you."
Jason POV
I was in the den reading a book when Jen ran in. she jumped onto my lap crying. I moaned when she put her hand on my stomach to steady herself. "Easy Jen, that hurts." She put her arms round my neck and cried. "Why are you crying? You didn't hurt me that bad, I'm just sore. Now please stop crying." She continued to cry. "What's the matter?"
"I'm sorry Jason, I'm sorry!" I rubbed her back as I waited for her to calm down. "I'm sorry Jason; I didn't mean to hurt you." She laid against me.
"Jen why are you so upset?" I looked at her and played with her hair.
"Damien yelled at me. I'm grounded for two months, I'm on lockdown in my room." I was so shocked; I never knew Damien had a fierce side.
"It's ok Jen; he's just in a bad mood. Right now his hormones are a little crazy, he isn't really that mad at you." I looked up as Damien came downstairs.
"Jen where do you belong?" Jen cowered against me; I pushed her towards the door encouraging her to go to her room. "Did she apologize?" I nodded. I grabbed Damien when he turned to follow Jen. "Jason please let me go."
He tried to pull away but I pulled him onto my lap. I kissed him gently at first then more fiercely as the seconds passed. "Feel better?" I asked when I released him. He looked at me and nodded. "Good now stay here I'll be right back." I sat him on the couch and stood.
Damien POV
I sat on the couch and watched Damien walk towards out room. I laid on the couch resting my head on the arm of one side with my feet dangling over the other. I laid my hands over my stomach and sighed. "Well girls your aunt probably hates me now. Do you think I was kinda harsh?" My daughters kicked. "Maybe I was, but Jen has never hit anyone before. It was wrong, she knows better."
"Damien get your shoes on, we're going out." I looked at Jason quizzically. "Mom will watch Jen; you're coming with me. Now get your shoes on." I looked at Nancy when she came into the room. She just shrugged; I put on my shoes and Jason dragged me out to the mustang.

Jason drove slowly. I had no idea where he was taking me. I asked and he said nothing. I watched everything we passed hoping to recognize something; but nothing seemed to click. When we got close Jason made me close my eyes so I wouldn't ruin the surprise. I heard the mustang turn off and Jason open his door. A few seconds later mine opened and he told me to open my eyes. I was surprised. He took me to the park we went to after we learned I was pregnant.
I got out, it was fall now. The trees were beautiful with their multi colored leaves. Jason smiled at me. "So you do remember this place. I was afraid you would've forgotten it." He led me to the spot where we sat six months ago. He even had the same blanket draped over his arm.
He helped me sat on the ground and sat behind me. I leaned back against him. "So what is the reason for coming here?" I felt him shrug and he started to rub my stomach. "Jase do you think I was too hard on Jen. I mean I've been cranky all morning cause I fell asleep in the rocking chair last night. I didn't mean to yell at her like that, but my hormones just took over; I just burst. I didn't mean to make her cry like that. I don't think she likes me anymore." I sighed deeply.
She doesn't hate you love, she's just a little upset. Yeah she hit me and it was wrong, but how about being lenient on her prison sentence. Why not just ground her for 3 weeks and allow her to do more than be on total lockdown." I looked up at him. "You didn't see how she acted when she ran to me in the den. She was crying so much I could barely understand her."
"Yeah, maybe you're right, but will you help me tell her?" I saw him nod. "Thanks honey. Do you think birth will hurt bad?" I felt him shrug. "I'm not sure I can handle the pain. I read that some births can be extremely painful. And do you think that the force on their little bodies will hurt them?"
"Well I am glad you got over one fear, but why did you find another? Honey I bet if you don't really focus on the pain it won't be that bad. And I bet the twins won't get hurt. We both were born naturally and we survived didn't we?"
"Yeah, but we came from women. We have no idea what effect having them come out of me will do to them. I want them to be safe. I wish they could just stay inside me here I know they won't get hurt." I looked at my stomach with a frown.
Jason lifted my head and kissed me. "Relax ok, I will make sure nothing happens to them; I promise. Now let me help you up, we need to get back to Jen."
~~~~
We walked into the house together. Nancy left a few minutes later after talking to Jason. Jason grabbed my hand and pulled me towards Jen's room; I felt Lily and Aura kick. I am not sure if it is to reassure me but I smiled anyway. We stopped at Jen's door. Jason knocked and got no answer. "Jen it's Jason, can we talk?"
Jen walked to the door and opened it. "Alright, but he stays out here." She was talking about me. Jason patted my arm and went to talk to Jen. I went to the kitchen in search of comfort food.
Jason POV
I could tell what Jen said had hurt Damien; I could see it in his eyes when he walked away. I walked into Jen's room and sat on her bed. She climbed onto my lap and leaned against me. "Jen I…we talked about your punishment. Instead of total lockdown for two months you're grounded for three weeks. You are allowed to leave your room but everything else is the same." Jen hugged me in appreciation. "Alright relax, now you need to talk to Damien. You upset him a minute ago. You say you don't like people upsetting him. Well you upset him when you said he couldn't come in here."
Jen looked at me with a frown. "I did upset him didn't I?" I nodded. "Do you think he will even talk to me now?"
"Jen he will always talk to you. You're his little sister, he loves you very much. When I first met you he told me a lot about how brave his little sister is and how smart his little sister is. He even told me how much he loved you. You have to remember that he isn't himself right now. The twins are making him different. He gets mad easier now and there is nothing he can do about it. This morning he regretted yelling at you."
"Really?" I nodded; she hopped off my lap and headed downstairs. I went to the den to give them privacy.
Damien POV
I sat at the table eating chocolate ice cream. I turned when I heard someone coming. Jen smiled at me and pulled a chair next to mine. "Hey Jen, I'm sorry I yelled at you like that. I really didn't mean to, it just happened. It felt like someone else was controlling me."
I was surprised when she hugged me. "I know Damien, and I am sorry too, I wasn't trying to upset you. I was still kinda mad, but Jason explained everything and now I feel like a dummy."
I pulled Jen close and hugged her. "You're not a dummy, a little crazy sometimes but not a dummy." I kissed her brow. "How about we attack Jason, you and me?" Jen nodded and we went to attack the man I love.
~~~~
The past three weeks went pretty fast. I was surprised at how well Jen took her punishment. Every day she would come home, do her homework, and read a book. I have been very nervous lately. I am a week away from my due date. I could tell my daughters were ready to be born cause at my last appointment we saw my one daughter had he head planted firmly in my pelvis. I haven't really been sleeping lately cause of the pressure on my pelvis and cause my other daughter was always pressing a foot against my skin.
I woke one night at three A.M. cause my daughters decided to play while I tried to sleep. I moaned and laid on my side. I must've woke Jason cause he put his arms around me and nuzzled my neck. "Hey babe, why are you awake. You're supposed to be sleeping." I rolled onto my other side so I could see him.
"I know that but our daughters don't, they decided to play instead. It's kinda hard to ignore their movements now. They are always moving, and seeing as they are running out of space it hurts a little when they kick." Jason kissed my forehead. "I think the girls are vampires; they are up all night and sleep during the day. How are we gonna handle their sleeping schedule once they are born? I can't believe I have become a human punching bag." I sighed as a foot pressed against my skin.
"I wish I could help you honey. I wish I could take the pain for you, but I can't. Name something I can do and I will do it for you. Name anything. "I sighed as he rubbed my back and looked into my eyes.
"Just lay here with me." I cuddled up to him and hoped that my daughters would go to sleep. I almost fell asleep when I heard Jen scream. I jumped out of bed and ran to her room as fast as my body would allow. I found Jen sitting in the corner of her closet with her legs drawn to her chest. I kneeled in front of her. "Hey what's wrong?" I put my arms around her and noticed she was still asleep cause she clawed at me and tried t get away. I pulled her against me. "Jen relax, it's me. Relax little one, it's me." Jen put her arms round me and cried. "Do you wanna talk about it?" She shook her head.
I sat with her for an hour while Jason stood guard over us. Once Jen fall back asleep he picked her up and put her back in bed. We walked to our room with me leaning on him. We laid in bed until six A.M. when the alarm went off. I moaned and went to take a shower. I sighed as the hot water ran down my skin. I noticed the hot bath made them sleep; I couldn't believe it. They fell asleep when I take a hot shower. Is my body not warm enough for them? Jeez, why do my daughters have to be so picky?
I got out of the shower and went back to my room. I attempted to get more sleep before the twin woke again. I sighed and rested my hand on my stomach as I fell asleep.
~~~~
I looked at the alarm clock and saw it was 11:00 A.M. I got up since that would probably be all the sleep I would get for a while. I heard laughter in the back yard; I looked out the window to find Jen and Jason playing in the leaf piles. I waddled downstairs to the kitchen. There was a plate of food in the microwave. There was a folded piece of paper saying 4 Damien. I smiled when I saw bacon and eggs.
I attacked the food like a ravenous dog. I smiled when I felt my daughters stretching inside me. "Well good morning to you too. Why did you refuse to let me sleep last night? We really need our sleep since you're due in a week. Is there any chance I can sleep tonight?" I smiled as they kicked. "I'll make a deal with you, let me sleep and you can move all you want while I'm awake. Please do it for me girls." I felt stupid since I knew they couldn't answer.
Jen ran into the house with Jason a few steps behind her. Jen ran to me and hugged me. "Hey kid, how are you feeling today?" I looked at Jason when he sat across from me. "Hey honey, did you and Jen have fun?" I smiled at Jen when she started to play with the twins.
"Did you sleep well Damien?" I nodded. "I figured you needed your sleep so I left you alone. I see you found the breakfast we made you." I nodded again. "Jen helped make it. She is a real good cook; she made everything on her own, I just supervised."
"Really? Who taught Jen to cook?" Jen pointed to Jason. "Ah, you've been taking lessons from Jason huh? Well as long as you do what he says you'll be a great cook." I put my plate in the dishwasher and walked to the living room. "Jen pick a movie we can all watch, we need to have a little family time." I smiled when Jen put on Broken Bridges. I sat against Jason and Jen sat at our feet.
Half way through the movie I had to walk around. The pressure of my daughter pressing on my pelvis started to get unbearable. Jason looked concerned and I just shook my head to tell him I was ok. They were both worried that I would go into labor at any moment. When I reached 8 months and 1 week Jason made me prepare my overnight bag, it's been by the stairs ever since. Jen looked at me nervously. "Relax I'm fine. The pressure is getting unbearable. I just need to walk around a few minutes." I was confused when Jen walked to me.
She put her arms around my waist and started to dance with me, she was trying to help me. Jason walked over and cut in. "Do you mind Jen; I figured we need to practice for our wedding day." Jen nodded and played a slow country song on the stereo. Jen sat on the couch and watched us. "You know Damien; this is our first dance as a couple."
I smiled and leaned my head on his shoulder. He kissed my brow and leaned his head against mine. "OW!" I looked at Jason with concern. "Relax hon I'm fine, the girls got jealous that's all. They both attacked me."
I smiled at him. "I know, they do that to me every day. That's the reason I can't sleep at night. I can't wait the week til they are born. I want to hold them and see their little faces." I sighed and we walked to the couch together. I sat down and leaned as Jason as we watched the rest of the movie.
I woke to find Jen leaning against me and I was leaning against Jason. I pushed Jen gently against the arm of the couch and went to get something to eat. I had just gotten the bread out of the cabinet when both girls kicked fiercely. "Hey take it easy will ya? I'm trying to make lunch." I had gotten my sandwich together and started to walk to the table when a strong contraction ran through my body. I dropped the plate and leaned against the counter.
I didn't notice it had shattered til Jason put his arms round me. "Hey watch the glass." he led me to the table and helped me sit. "What happened?" I cringed as my water broke. "Oh shit."
"The babies are coming." He kept looking between me and the floor. I whimpered as I had another contraction. "How can they kick at a time like this?" I rubbed my stomach gently. I looked up when Jen came in. "Jen watch the broken glass, I don't want you to get cut."
"What happened in here? It looks like hell." Jen looked at the floor in horror. She looked at me when I whimpered again. "Damien are you ok?"
I nodded. "I'll be fine. Why don't you go play in the living room ok?" She shook her head. "Jen I mean it, go play."
"No! What is going on? TELL ME!" Jen walked to me and put her hands on my shoulders.
I sighed deeply. "Fine Jen, I'm in labor. My water broke a few minutes ago and I've been having contractions. I made this mess when I had my first contraction. Now please don't disobey us, I need to worry about the babies right now." she nodded; I whimpered as another contraction attacked. I looked at Jen when she started to rub my stomach.
"Will they be ok Damien?" I nodded. "Is there anything I can do?"
"Jen call mom and tell her we need her here." Jason said as he picked up the glass. Jen nodded and ran to the living room. "Why did you have to say you wanted to see their little faces? I think that tipped them off." I laughed as my daughters kicked.
Jen POV
I put the phone to my ear and dialed Nancy's number. It rang four times before Nancy answered. "Nancy?! This is Jen, we need your help. Damien is in labor, please come over." I looked towards the kitchen when I heard Damien scream. "Please hurry." I hung up the phone and ran to the kitchen. "Damien?"
Damien looked at me with a weak smile. "I'm ok sis, just go play. Please." I watched as he groaned in pain and bent over. "Jennifer go!"
Damien POV
I heard Jen run out of the room. I clutched Jason's hand as my contractions peaked. "It hurts so much. Please make the pain go away." I felt tears stream down my face.
Jason started to rub my back. "Just pay attention to me. The more attention you give the pain the more it will hurt. Just pay attention to me." Jason started to rub my stomach gently. "We are gonna do this together. Once mom gets here we'll go to the hospital. Once this is over we'll come home with two beautiful baby girls that everyone will shower with love."
Nancy POV
I am on my way to Jason's house. I could tell by the phone call that Jen was very scared. She ran to me once I parked my car. "Relax Jen, everything will be fine." Jen led me into the house and pointed towards the kitchen. I walked into the kitchen and found Jason rubbing Damien's stomach as he breathed through a contraction.
Jason POV
I looked up when I smelled roses; the scent of mom's perfume. "Oh mom thank god. We need you to watch Jen, she is really freaking out. I'm gonna take Damien to the hospital. I'll call when we have news." I kissed her cheek as we walked past her. Damien forced me to stop when Jen ran to him. "Hey kiddo, I'll be perfectly fine. Just think by this time tomorrow there will be w new members to our family." Jen nodded and Damien wiped away her tears. "Be good while I am gone and do whatever Nancy says." He kissed her before we went out to the garage. I started to lead Damien to the Honda but he stopped again. "No, the mustang. Please I want to be in the mustang."
I just sighed and helped him into the passenger seat of the mustang. The entire way to the hospital I noticed her kept rubbing his hands on the dashboard with each contraction. I had mom call Dr. Lynx to warn her we were coming. I parked the car and we walked into the hospital together while I carried his overnight bag on my shoulder.
Damien POV
I leaned on Jason as we walked through the hospital doors. We walked to the reception desk; I rubbed my stomach as Jason explained what was going on. I looked up and noticed it was the same nurse from my last visit. Me and Jason we lead to a room and I was forced to put on what they called a hospital gown. In my mind it's a paper dress with a slit up the back. Dr. Lynx came in a few minutes later.
"Well it seems we made it pretty far with this pregnancy. I am happy they are only a week early. I was afraid they might be premature, but you are lucky. You must have a five star hotel for a uterus if they stayed that long." I laughed until a contraction hit. "Damien are you gonna want an epidural for the birth?"
"No, mom had one with Jen and she was in labor for 22 hours, the epidural slowed it down. I want this over with as soon as possible." I cringed as a contraction started. "Oh dear god! JASE!" Jason grabbed my hand and squeezed gently.
~5:00 PM~
I sighed as my latest contraction ended. Jason looked at me with a smile. "Why does this have to take so long? It's been 5 hours and I only dilated 2 ½ centimeters. This is annoying."
"I think this is the point where you work for them. This is the moment of truth when you learn everything is worth it." Jason kissed me before kissing my stomach.
"I've been working for them for the past 8 months. How did our moms survive this?" I rubbed my stomach as the girls kicked to tell me they were ok. "I really hate this you know. I've hated hospitals my whole life and now I have to be in one cause I'm pregnant." I cringed as another contraction came.
"Breathe baby, you need to breathe." I looked at Jason hoping to take my mind off some of the pain. "Good, pay attention to me babe. Just think once this is over we will go home with our beautiful daughters. We may not sleep for a while once we're home, but we will survive." I looked at Jason with a smile as the contraction passed.
~10:30 PM~
I tried lying in a different position to ease my pain. I laid on my side facing Jason as he sat in the chair by my bed. When the nurse checked me a few minutes ago she said I finally reached 5 centimeters. She promised that things would go faster now that I reached the halfway mark. I smiled at Jason when he rubbed my hand. "Jase I want to thank you."
"For what?"
"You are always there for me when I am in pain. I still find it hard to believe you were there for me when Maddox attacked me. I was in so much pain." I sighed. "You didn't even know me yet you brought me to the house. You let me sleep in our bed while you slept in the chair. When my parents died you guarded me and Jen like a moth wolf to her babies. Again I was in pain and you were in the chair. Now look at us; again I am in severe pain and you are in a chair by the bed guarding me. Kinda déjà vu right?" I felt a tear stream down my face. "All that's missing is the call to mom and dad."
Jason leaned across the bed and hugged me. "Hush, calm down love. I bet your parents are watching everything right now. Your mom is encouraging you and your dad is passing our cigars. I doubt anything would make them miss this." I cried on his shoulder as he rubbed my back. I gripped his shirt as a contraction assaulted me yet again.
~1:45 AM~
That nurse wasn't kidding; I had dilated to 9 centimeters in the past 3 hours. With each contraction I felt my daughter slowly descending. The pain has gotten worse as well; I feel the urge to scream with each contraction. The only thing keeping me from screaming is Jason. Dr. Lynx gave him permission to sit behind me until the time to push arrives.
Jason felt my body tense and hugged me. "Breathe babe, I'm here. Just breathe." I obeyed as he rubbed my stomach. I had been in labor for 13 hours already and just wanted it to end. I leaned back against Jason when the contraction ended. "You did great babe. We are getting close; just a little longer and we hold our first baby girl. By the way they are kicking I can say they are just as eager to meet us as we are to meet them." I smiled as they kicked in response.
"I just hope it isn't much longer. I know the first baby will be born soon, as my labor progressed I noticed the kicks from the one baby slowly descended down my stomach. Now it's about half way down." I rubbed my stomach as they kicked again.
~2:30 AM~
"Well Damien, you're gonna meet your first baby in roughly half an hour. It's time to push." I looked over my shoulder at Jason with a smile. He kissed my head before helping me up and standing next to my bed. Dr. Lynx held out a surgical gown. "Jason you need to wear this over your clothes. In a minute we are gonna move Damien into an operating room for the birth. Are you ready Damien?"
I rubbed my stomach. "I've been ready since 12:01 yesterday afternoon. Please tell me the birth of the second baby will be easier. I don't want to go through another 14 hours of labor."
"It will be easier. As you push the second baby will get into position for her birth. There will be about an hour difference between their births. After the first baby is born everything will be easier cause the first baby will have cleared the way for her sibling." I cringed as another contraction came. My contractions were about 2 minutes apart now.
Dr. Lynx waited for the contraction to end before wheeling me to the operating room. They had Jason wait outside for a few minutes while they got things together. Jason ran to my side when the pain of a contraction made me scream. I smiled at him for a little while before I had another contraction. I didn't even notice Dr. Lynx had put my feet up in the stirrups. "Damien when your next contraction comes I want you to push. You will push for a count of 10, take a deep breath, and do it again. That will be the routine until the baby emerges." I nodded to tell her I understood.
I cringed as a contraction started. "Push Damien!" I put my chin to my chest and started to bring my daughter into the world. I cringed at the pleasure/pain that I felt. I noticed little Damien saluted as the baby pressed against my prostate. I took a deep breath and pushed again. I screamed as the contraction ended, I grabbed the front of Jason's shirt and pulled him close. "You are never touching me again if there is a chance of this happening again!" I almost growled at him. I saw fear creep into his eyes and for some reason I was glad I put it there.
~2:45 AM~
"Push Damien I can see her head, push hard." I moaned as the baby started to crown. "Alright Damien, breathe for a few seconds then you're gonna push again." I nodded as I panted. "You're doing great Damien." Jason still stood next to me even though I was sure I hurt his feelings at least 20 times over the past 10 minutes.
"Alright Damien 3…2…1 and push." I moaned as my body stretched to accommodate my daughter's head. "Alright breathe. Her head is out. I'm gonna clean out her nose and mouth, just breathe." I sat there panting and cried when I heard a high pitched scream. I couldn't believe it, she wasn't even fully born, yet she was already crying.
Jason looked at me with a smile. I felt between my legs and felt my daughter's head. "Damien you're gonna help. With your next contraction I want you to pull gently while you push. You're gonna assist her birth, once her shoulders are out you're gonna pull her out completely, and lay her on your chest ok?" I nodded. With the next contraction I pushed while I pulled gently on her head. Dr. Lynx guided my hands as her shoulders came out. With one last push she came out and I laid her on my chest.
"Hi baby, I'm your momma." Her eyes connected with mine and she stopped crying immediately. "Hi sweetie, why were you and your sister kicking so much lately? You're beautiful." Fresh tears streamed down my face as I looked at her. I looked up when Dr. Lynx held out the scissors to cut the umbilical cord. Jason looked nervous; I looked at him and rubbed his arm. "Go ahead Jason; you need to work for them too."
"Yeah but they will know I'm the one who disconnected them from you. I'm not sure that is a good rep for me."
I laughed when he took the scissors. "Just do it already." I smiled at my daughter when she cried again. "Relax Aura, I didn't forget you." I kissed her little head. "I can never forget you." I watched as a nurse took her away to weigh and clean her. I rubbed my stomach when Lily kicked. "It's just me and you now Lily. We can do this right?" she kicked in response. "Ok baby, just a little while longer." I looked at Jason as he fawned over Aura. "You know Jase, I think Lily likes the bigger space, she is kicking more now that Aura is born. She's acting like a teenager with her own apartment. She is gon-" I cringed as a contraction ruined the moment.
"Alright Damien, you're gonna start to push with your next contraction. You did great last time. Just push as hard as you did before and we can get this over with." I nodded and collected myself as Jason came over and I prepared for the oncoming contraction. I started to push and felt Lily descend. "Good Damien, you're doing good." I pushed harder and felt Lily pushing her way into the world.
I stopped for a breath when she started to crown. Dr. Lynx freaked when the monitors on Lily started to blare in alarm. "Damien you need to push now!!" my fear for my daughter made me push harder. Her head came out and Dr. Lynx cursed. "Stop the cord is wrapped around her neck." Dr. Lynx cut the cord from her neck. "Damien push hard." I didn't stop pushing til Lily was out.
I sat up on my elbows ignoring the pain it caused. I saw Lily, her skin was a dark purple. "Oh my god, is she ok?" no one answered me. Dr. Lynx ran her over to the nurses. I saw a mask put by her face as they tried to get her to breathe. "Dr. Lynx is she ok?" I repeated my question for 5 minutes but each time no one answered me. "Catherine! Is Lily ok?"
She turned to me with regret in her eyes. She walked over with her head down. "Damien I'm sorry; Lily didn't make it. The cord around her neck killed her." I shook my head as I cried. Jason pulled me into a hug and I buried my face in his chest. "I'm so sorry. There was nothing we could do, it was too late."
Jason rubbed my back as I cried. "I want to hold her." I looked up to see Dr. Lynx nod. She walked over a few seconds later with Lily in her arms. I took Lily and hugged her. "Oh Lily, I'm so sorry. this shouldn't have happened. I wish they took me instead." I looked up at Dr. Lynx and the nurses. "Leave us!" my command was almost a growl.
Dr. Lynx nodded; one of the nurses started to protest but Catherine shushed her. She ushered the nurses out and handed Aura to Jason. I looked at Jason when Aura cried. "Hush little one. I'm here, daddy's here." I smiled at them while I still cried. "I'm sorry hon, we still have Aura. At least one of them survived." Jason hugged me and we were careful of the babies between us. I pushed Jason away when I had a weird feeling.
"Jason get Dr. Lynx now!" I watched Jason run out with Aura. He ran back with Dr. Lynx a second later; both looked confused. "Lily is alive! My daughter is alive." We all looked at Lily who was feeding off me. Her chest could be seen rising and falling.
Dr. Lynx put the stethoscope over her chest and gasped with surprise. "Oh god, how is this possible. She wasn't breathing, she had no heartbeat, or pulse. What happened in here?"
"Nothing happened, Jason hugged me then I felt her feeding from me." I smiled at Lily. "She's a fighter like me." Dr. Lynx checked on Lily before leaving is alone again. "Hey babe, do you have your phone?" he nodded. "Can you take a picture of me and the girls?" he nodded, handed Aura to me, took out his phone, backed up a little bit, and took the picture. Both girls started to cry after he took the picture. I looked at my daughters nervously. "Help."
~4:00 AM~
Dr. Lynx moved me and the girls to our own room and 3:30. Lily and Aura are sleeping in bassinettes by my bed. I still can't believe that 2 hours ago they resided in me. I hugged Jason when he sat next to me on the bed. He kissed my temple and looked at our daughters. "Hey can you hand me your phone?" he nodded and handed it to me. I found the picture he took and smiled. "This turned out really good." I clicked send and sent the picture to Nancy's cell phone.
Nancy POV
I saw on the couch with Jen who fell asleep a few hours ago. My phone vibrated in my pocket. I opened it and saw a picture of Damien and the twins. Under the picture was a caption.
November 11, 2010: Aura Marie Thompson-born 2:50 6 lbs 18 inches long Lily Rose Thompson-born 3:22 Am. 6 lbs. 7 ounces 17 inches long
I smiled and felt Jen move against me. She looked at me with her brown eyes. "Look Jen, you're an aunt." I showed her my phone and she gasped with wonder.
"Can we call them? Can we go see them?" She jumped off the couch.
I grabbed her arm. "Not yet Jen. We'll call them in a few hours. Let Damien get some rest ok? I promise we will see them at noon. Now how about we get some sleep? I will wake you in a few hours before breakfast." I kissed her head and she ran back to her room.
Congrats on the babies. Give both of them and Damien a kiss for me. And happy birthday Jason. I replied to the text from earlier.
I sat in the hospital bed holding Aura while Jason held Lily. I looked up when there was a knock on the door to my room. "Come in." I smiled when Nancy and Jen came in. "Hey kiddo, I guess you're an aunt now huh?" she smiled and hugged Jason who stood by my bed. "Nancy can you help her onto the bed?"
Nancy nodded and helped her up. Jen sat next to me and looked at Aura with wonder. "Who is this Damien?"
"I'm holding Aura and Jason had Lily." I smiled at Jason. "Aura was born first and Lily was born roughly 30 minutes later." Jen looked between the babies with wonder.
"Can I hold them?" Jen's voice was barely audible. She looked between me and Jason.
"Sure, sit in front of me ok?" she nodded and complied. I set Aura in her arms. "Make sure you support her head Jen. And remember she is Fragile." Jason came over and set Lily in her other arm. "You ok Jen?" she nodded. I put my arms under hers to make sure she didn't drop them accidentally.
"Hey all of you, look over here." We looked at Nancy and found her holding her famous camera. "Smile." Jason stood next to me and Jen. We all smiled, Nancy took the picture, and there was crying to follow. "Damn I'm sorry; I didn't mean to wake them."
I took Lily and Jason took Aura. "It's ok Nancy. We needed a picture of the entire family anyway. And I figured they would wake soon anyway cause they need to feed soon and probably diaper changes too." I rocked Lily as Jason did the same with Aura. I decided to feed them and get it over with. "Hon, can you try to calm Aura while I feed Lily?" he nodded. "Ok baby, calm down." I held Lily by my chest and she latched on immediately. "That's my good girl."
Jason gave Aura a pacifier for the time being. Jen looked at me quizzically. "What are you doing Damien." At that moment I felt self conscious."
"It's called breast feeding Jen. It is healthier for the babies. Damien probably finds it more convenient, right Damien?" I nodded, I was glad Nancy answered for me. "It is easier for your brother cause he doesn't have to fill up a bottle when the babies cry." Jen nodded in understanding. I mouthed 'thank you' and Nancy nodded. When Lily was done Nancy held her while I fed Aura.
~Nov. 13-12:00 PM~
I winced when I stood up. Jason had gone to sign my release forms. I smiled at Jen when she walked into the room. "Hey kiddo, can you help me put those booties on Aura?" she nodded and went to the task, I looked at Lily. Both girls were sleeping peacefully in their carriers. I kissed Lily's head before putting her hat on her. "How you doing Jen?" I looked over to see her put the last bootie on Aura.
She walked over and hugged me. "They're beautiful Damien." I kissed her head. "Was it hard?" I looked at her quizzically. "I mean was it hard having them?"
"Yeah, but it was worth it. When I held them for the first time none of the pain mattered. It proved the past 9 months was worth everything." I sighed deeply. "But now is the real test. Babies need constant care. They are gonna cry a lot and will wake us at night. If it ever becomes too much for you tell us and you can sleep at Nancy's." she nodded and hugged me. I looked at my daughters as they whimpered. I walked over to the carrier and rocked them gently. "Calm down little ones, mommy's here; it's ok."
I looked up when I heard footsteps. Jason walked over to Aura and picked her up. "Hey angel, relax everything is ok. I know things are different but you'll recognize things soon. Just wait til we get home, there is a beautiful nursery waiting for you. You will even see that rocking chair your mommy loves so much." I noticed that both girls calmed when he talked. Jason rocked Aura til she fell to sleep. I continued to rock Lily til she succumbed to sleep as well. Jason put Aura back in her carrier and hugged me. "You ready to go? You're signed out. They will be here in a minute with the wheel chair. Mom left with the mustang, we all go home in the Honda."
I sighed when Dr. Lynx cam in with the wheel chair. "Get over it Damien, it's hospital rules. Now sit down like a good boy." I winced as I sat in the chair. Jen carried my bag as Jason carried Lily and Aura. The car was parked by the front doors. Jason put Lily in the car as I waited holding Aura's carrier. Once Lily was secured in the car he took Lily and helped me up. I sat in the backseat between the car seats. Jason rode in the front with Jason.
I must have fallen asleep on the ride home. When I opened my eyes I found Jason carrying me. Nancy and Jen walked ahead of us. Jen opened the door for Nancy who held my daughters. I looked at Jason and saw him smile. "You're awake." I nodded. "You fell asleep right as we left the hospital parking lot." He set me on my feet once we reached our room. Nancy stood by the bed with the twins.
I walked to Nancy and saw Lily and Aura were both awake. "Hey little ones, how are you feeling?" I just smiled at them. Jason picked up Aura and I took Lily, I led the way into the nursery. See girls, this is your room for now." I carried Lily to her crib and laid her in it. Jason laid Aura in hers. Both girls fell asleep instantly. I smiled when Jason hugged me. Jen came over and wrapped her arms around my waist; Nancy stood behind us and hugged us all. "I can't believe they are finally here. They look so peaceful."
"That won't last long." Nancy replied as she patted my back, we all laughed. We headed out the room and I grabbed the baby monitor. I walked into the kitchen where Nancy had a can of soda waiting. I gladly took it as she offered it. "I figured you would want soda, I did after Jason was born. And yes it's ok to have some every now and then." I smiled and gulped down half the can.
"I really missed the taste of that." I smiled when Jason laughed. "Let's see you go 9 months without soda. It's hell, I think you're what kept me going."
He pulled a chair next to mine and sat down. I leaned against him and sighed. "You know Damien, we will be the living dead by the end of the week." I laughed at the idea. "I talked to my boss and he gave me a month's vacation with pay. We will go through this together." He put his arm around me and kissed me. "I love you Damien."
I was about to reply when Lily and Aura cried. "Hold that thought." I got up and walked to the nursery. I went into the nursery and walked to Lily's crib, Aura was actually asleep. "Hush love, you're ok." I picked her up and rocked her gently as I paced the room. I jumped when Jason put his hand on my shoulder. "You scared me." He kissed my cheek. "How can Aura sleep through this? I figured she would've woken by now."
Jason walked over to the crib and checked on Aura. "Maybe Lily cried so often it doesn't bother her anymore." He smiled at me while I tried to calm Lily. "Did you try feeding her? Maybe she is hungry." I decided to try it. I opened my shirt and held her to my chest. She latched on and sucked greedily.
"Well I think she is always hungry." Jason helped me sit in the rocker. I started to rock back and forth gently as Jason watched. I smiled at him. "This feels so weird, it feels like…I can't describe it, but it is so weird. I never thought I would be able to feed them this way."
"I guess weird things happen love." we both looked at Aura's crib when she cried. "I'll get her, why not get in a diaper change right?" I nodded and he grabbed Aura. "Hey little angel, there is no need to cry, everything is ok." He rocked her as he went to the changing table. "What did we get ourselves into Damien? They are only 2 days old and we are already wrapped around their little fingers." I just laughed.
I woke at 12:30 and looked around. The babies weren't crying so I wondered what woke me. I figured it out a second later. I had subconsciously put my hand over my stomach. I missed the feeling of my daughters moving inside me. I looked at Jason and saw he was sleeping. I got out of bed and walked into the nursery. I walked into the nursery and watched my daughters while they slept. I looked at Jason when he walked into the room.
"Damien what are you doing in here?" he looked at the girls and smiled. "They are really beautiful. How could Maddox create something so beautiful and sweet?" I walked behind him and put my arms round him. I put my head on his shoulder and looked at the girls.
"I didn't mean to wake you hon, I missed them. And Maddox didn't create them, I did; he was just a sperm donor." Jason laughed silently. "I'm going back to bed. You coming?"
~2 Weeks later~
I walked into the kitchen holding Aura in one arm and Lily in the other. Jen had just left for school and Jason was making breakfast. I yawned loudly and the girls squirmed in my arms. "Relax little ones, everything is ok." I looked at Jason when I sat down. "I don't think I can take sleep deprivation and longer Jase. Why do we have such active little girls?" he smiled and shook his head.
He set our plates on the table before relieving me of Lily so I could eat. "Did they feed yet this morning?" I shook my head. "Well let's hope they will let us sleep before they want to." I nodded as I ate my eggs. "I am guessing that Jen is not as tired as we are?" I shrugged. "Every morning she seems chipper and full of energy. Maybe the twins don't wake her at night."
"I don't know but I envy her. I haven't slept since I was 7 months pregnant. This really sucks, they sleep all the time and we can't sleep at all. They are lucky, I mean really lucky. All they worry about I being fed." I sighed when Aura cried. I set my fork down and began to feed her. Once I was sure she would be going for a while I got back to my food.
"You know I am surprised you are still sane. How are you staying sane anyway?" I looked at Lily when she whimpered. Jason smiled at her and she smiled back. It was a real smile too, the corner of her eyes crinkled when she smiled.
"Oh my god, she smiled. Her first smile, she is gorgeous." I watched Lily in wonder as she continued to smile. "That, that is how I stay sane. They amaze me more each day." I looked at Aura who had finished her meal and fallen asleep. "You want to trade now?" Jason nodded and handed me Lily as he took Aura.
Lily immediately began her meal before I had a chance to encourage her. "You ever notice how eager Lily is to feed? When I held her after she was born she immediately fed on her own. I am so glad she is ok, I thought we lost her for a minute." I smiled at Lily as she continued to feed. I looked at Aura who slept peacefully in Jason's arms. "We got really lucky didn't we?" he nodded and we continued our meal.
~12:45 PM~
I sat in the living room with the baby monitor on the coffee table. I looked up when I heard the door bell. I got up ad walked to the door with baby monitor in hand. I was surprised when I opened the door and found Ms. Lee. I hugged her immediately. "Ms. Lee what are you doing here?" I let her in. "Come sit in the living room." We sat down and I set the monitor on the table. "What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be in school right now?"
"Half day." I nodded in understanding. "I am guessing you had the babies since you are skinny again."
"Yeah, they were born November 11. Aura was born at 2:50 and Lily at 3:22. There was a slight complication with Lily but she is ok now. They are so cute. Lily smiled for the first time this morning. I really miss sleeping though, but it is worth it to see them everyday." I looked toward the monitor when I heard a whimpering noise. It stopped as soon as it started. "Do you want to see them?" Ms. Lee nodded. "Follow me." I got up and led her to the nursery. I pointed to the crib on my left. "That is Aura Marie and here on my right is Lily Rose."
Ms. Lee looked at them and smiled. "They are so cute Damien. They are lucky to have parents like you and Jason. You know Mr. Jansen retired last year. He won't bother you when you come back to school." She looked round the nursery with wonder. "Who created this nursery? It's divine."
"I did." Ms. Lee turned quickly to see who answered her. Jason put a finger over her mouth to stop her from screaming. Jason hugged her gently. "I made this for Damien after he moved in with me. I got some help from mom and Jen." He walked over and kissed me. "I didn't show him the nursery til he was 7 months along. It took me that long to do cause I worked on it while he slept."
"You did a great job, really." Jason nodded and we went back to the living room. "So Damien, when will you come back for your diploma?"
"When the girls are older, maybe when they're 2 or 3. Right now I need to worry about them. You know I find it hard to believe sometimes that the geek and the jock got together. And better yet we're engaged." Ms. Lee gasped and I smiled. "We've been since I was 7 months pregnant. We want to be married in April."
"That is wonderful, congratulations. I am happy for both of you." we all looked at the monitor as we heard crying. "I better go so you can handle those angels. Congrats again to both of you." she waved and walked out closing the door as she left.
I stood and headed for the nursery. I smiled at Lily as I picked her up. "Hey punkin, what's wrong? Why are you upset?" Lily stopped crying once I cuddled her close to my body. "Oh you little sneak, you just wanted attention." I laughed as she cooed at me. "Well what can I do for you since you're awake anyway?" she smiled. "How about we go see daddy" I rocked her as we walked to the living room. Jason smiled when he saw me and Lily. "It seems someone wanted attention. She stopped crying when I picked her up."
I sat next to Jason on the couch. "Hey little one, why aren't you sleeping like your sister huh? What, is snoozing boring to you? You are beautiful Lily, just like the flower. Do you know your aunt Jen chose your name?" he looked towards our room when Aura woke. "You stay with Lily, I'll get her." Jason walked back a few minutes later. "Ok, they definitely love attention. I think Lily taught Aura a new trick." I laughed as he sat next to me.
