The drive took about a half hour,they talked as they
went Sookie,asking Jessica how she felt about everything that was happening to her.Sookie was jealous,oh to only be her,to have a new life inside of her belly,she wondered how that felt,if she'd ever feel that feeling.

Jessica,said she felt fine,just a bit more tired.
She hadn't felt any movement in her belly yet,but she
couldn't wait to feel those first flutters.
They pulled onto a tree lined street,and in front of
a red and grey Victorian house with a small garden.
Sookie,locked the car and they entered the house.
"We're here to see Dr.Ludwig,this is Jessica Hamby,
she's expecting her first baby,she's a Vampire,and the baby's father is a human." she told the nurse.

"Yes,we're expecting you,won't you have a seat,please
fill out these forms for the insurance and also a
chart with Ms. Hamby's history,then return them"

Sookie and Jessica,found a seat and began filling out
the forms,and working on Jessica's history.

Sookie finished filling out the forms,then returned them,"Jessica,will you follow me into the exam room,
Ms.Stackhouse,you can come inside with us and wait for the doctor,she's explained everything to me"
They were shown inside a cheery room,painted a restful yellow,that had photos of babies on the walls
Jessica,changed into the gown she had been given,and
she took off her bra and panties,then got up onto the
table sitting with her legs dangling off the end.

"Well,Ms.Stackhouse,Ms.Hamby,how are you feeling,have
you had any morning sickness today?"
"None today,I'm pleased to say"Jessica told the doctor smiling and patting her belly.
"Alright,let's see what's going on with you,lay back,
and put your feet in the stirrups,bringing your butt,
to the bottom of the table" Dr.Ludwig instructed.

Jessica did so,then Dr.Ludwig placed a gloved hand on top of Jessica's belly and the other hand inside of her,feeling her uterus,"Oh yes,you're expecting".
Dr.Ludwig,withdrew her hand,then removed the gloves from both hands,then began to palpatate Jessica's belly with trained fingers,"Would you like to find out how many babies your going to be having"?

"You mean you can tell me how many I'm having?"
"Jessica, you're already in your second trimester,
because you waited two months to tell anyone that you
thought you were pregnant,you're 13-17 weeks along and once we do the ultrasound we can find out exactly
how far by measuring the babies's size"
Before the doctor did the ultrasound,she measured Jessica's belly,she got a measurement of 26" around.

Doctor Ludwig,asked Sookie to lower the lights,then she put a huge glob of blue gel on Jessica's belly,
taking a wide headed probe,she placed it inside the gel,then began spreading it across her belly.
"Let's see what we can find inside your belly"
Jessica and Sookie looked at the snowy screen,all of a sudden it began to change, "Is that my baby?"
"Well,you see that string of pearls,that's the baby's
spine,and you hear this,turning the sound up that's your baby's heart beat- hold on,I hear another one,come out where are you hiding"?

"There you are,Jessica,you're having identical twins!
as far as I can tell,things may change"
"I'm having identical twins!~how can you tell that they'll be identical Dr.Ludwig"
"Do you see how both of them are in the same sac,well
that's how doctors know they'll be identical"
"Your boyfriends sperm fertilized one egg which split into two babies"

Sookie was crying,and hugging Jessica at the same time,she couldn't wait to tell Bill,who'd be over the moon for Jessica and would do everything possible
to see that they were delivered safely.
"Jessica,Sookie,come into my office,we have to talk as Jessica's pregnancy has become high risk"

Sookie and Jessica returned home at about midnight.
Hoyt and Bill were waiting for them when they came thru the door of Bill ancesteral home.
"Well what did Dr.Ludwig tell you-how many babies is
she carrying"? Bill was really excited.
"Let's all go into the living room and talk I need a
drink and Jessica needs a bottle of TrueBlood"

They all went into the living room and sat down.
Jessica curled up on the couch next to Hoyt,while
Sookie kicked off her shoes and sat in the big old wing chair."Can I have a glass of red wine".

Bill warmed up two TrueBloods and got Hoyt a beer.
"Well what did Dr.Ludwig find out?"
"Bill you're going to be a grandfather and as far as
Dr.Ludwig can tell I'm having twins-but she said that
could change at anytime during my pregnancy".

"Was she able to tell you the sex of the babies?"
"Not yet she said that by the time I come for my next
visit they're going to be more developed"

"She's healthy Dr.Ludwig said Jessica should have no
real problems carrying to term,as this is her first pregnancy and even if she is a Vampire she won't have a really hard time as long as we do everything she wants us to" Sookie explained that since Jessica was a Vampire she'd have to up her intake of whole blood and she'd have to gain alot of weight.
Sookie told Bill that she thought that if they added
things like highfat icecream to the TrueBlood and made a milkshake it would help with her gaining weight-another thing they could try is fortifing the
TrueBlood with essential vitamines & minerals.

Jessica was sitting on the couch next to Hoyt,her head resting on his shoulder.Hoyt had one hand around her while his other one was resting on her belly he couldn't beleive it she was carrying his children inside of her. How Hoyt wished his late father was alive to see him and his wife have his grandchildren. Hoyt's dad would be over the moon.
Bill looked over at Hoyt "She's really tired,I remember when my wife was expecting our first child how sleepy she'd tend to get by 8:00PM"
"Hoyt bring Jesssica into her bedroom,she can sleep
there till it's time for her to go to Rest".

Hoyt gently picked her up off of the sofa and carried her into her bedroom he placed her onto her soft bed and covered her with a throw.

"I'm having the rooms made light tight like in the hotel in Dallas with metal panels that can be lowered
or raised depending upon the time of day".

"Is anyone around I'm hungry" Jessica called.
"We're in the kitchen Jessica,come join us" Sookie called "I have something for you and your children"
"Good evening Jessica,how are you feeling tonight?"
"I'm feeling fine so far father"
"Jessica remember what we talked about on the way home from Dr.Ludwig's yesterday? How you had to increase your blood intake now that you're expecting?"And I said I'd try mixing you up a few high protein shakes with some strawberry full fat
icecream and TrueBlood or whole blood?"

"Yeah Sookie I said I'd love it if you could do it"
"Well then tell me how you think this tastes--we can
add certain flavours to it to erase the metalic taste of the trueBlood if you don't like it".
"Sookie you did it,you really mixed me up a shake-Jessica takes a big sip in thru a straw.
"THANK YOU!!!I love it!!
"Good cause you know what Dr.Ludwig said about you
gaining weight she wants you 10 pounds heavier by
your next visit. And I'm guessing she's going to want
you steadily gaining as much weight as possible"

"If that's the case I'm going to be a blimp by the time I'm ready to deliver".
"Jessica you're not going to be a blimp you're going to blossom and bloome you're already glowing and you're just beginning your second trimester.Why I remember how beautiful my Caroline was when she was
expecting my son Thomas how her hair shone,and her skin had this healthy glow and her breasts heaved with the milk that she'd later feed my son"

"Why Bill I've never heard you talk about your wife and children before-except for the night at the meeting of "the Sons of the Glorious Dead".
Can you tell us more about them?"

"Let's go into the living room and sit down".
They went into the living room where Jessica curled
up in the corner of the couch & Sookie sat by Bill as
he told them about his family and how he became a
Vampire--"I was the son of a farmer,I grew up in this
house I was born in the Master bedroom upstairs on
April 9,1835 and I lived here with my wife Caroline,and this is where we raised three children"
"After I came home from the War in 1865 on my way back to this very house after going to town to do an
errend for my wife Caroline I was attacked by a Vampire and turned that very night"

"What happened to your children?" Jessica asked.
"We lost our last child, Lee Davis Compton at birth
Thomas died from Smallpox only little Sarah lived on,and her grandchildren are still alive here in
Bon Temps today as is Sarah's daughter Caroline".

"Wait Bill you mean that Caroline Bellefleur's your
great-great grand daughter,and Andy & Portia are your
great great grand children-And they don't know this?"
"Andy thought he recognised the name Compton when we
met and I knew that somewhere a relative had married
a Bellefleur but I chose to say nothing"

"Bill what will my children be to Andy & Portia?"
"Well Jessica,your children will be Comptons & they will also be Fortenberry's & Hamby's-but they will never really know the Hamby side of the family as you
are technically not alive" They'll be related to
Andy & Portia cause you're my childe and they'll be
related to Hoyt cause he's their father,which makes
Maxine Fortenberry their grandmother".

"Oh that should really be interesting? Maxine a grandmother to grandsons who are half Vampire/half Human? Wonder how she's going to take that when you
and Hoyt tell her your expecting? Hoyt's told her?"
"Bill Sookie Hoyt and I want to wait incase Dr.Ludwig
finds I'm carrying more than twins-she said anything
can happen at any time"
